@ashen spindle oh, thx was me
Since the cooler doesn't make that good contact to begin with
There's 3 things that might improve temps by 10-20°C combined:
Lapping the base of the cooler
Better TIM
Higher mounting presure
https://www.techpowerup.com/252457/liquid-metal-tim-shaves-5-c-off-radeon-vii-junction-temperatures
Both our cards can easily maintain 1800 Mhz at lower temps than their review sample could
Which hovered around 1720
might be thermal pad issue, too bad you have to destroy it to check
Yeah
And apparently it actually very good
its like soldered cpus, some samples are way better than the others
Some 25-45 W/m·K doesn't sound like crap
in terms of temps ofc
Not close to liquid metal, but easily twice of what liquid TIMs manage
well you can't really jsut say hey it has 25 W/m.k
there's more to it, but it performs pretty similar to good thermal paste
i mean its cool and very conductive, but its kinda thick
Indeed
Anyway, lapping the concave cooler base, putting some very nice and thin pad there, then using higher mounting pressure should result in 10-20°C lower temps
it's soem kind of carbon, a material which has the potential to make a near perfect solution for that appliance
you should be vary with mounting pressure on vega though
if the pakcage isn't flat enough you might run into problems
Funny enough, my card is cooler and runs higher clocks than TPUs review sample after their mods
Wifey's card is even better, about 8°C less
And seems to do the same thing at 25mV less
you'd need to OC to see if it does that too
if it just doesn't OC you won't have any benefits besides less noise
low production volume probably means bigger tollerance as well to get it shipped out
I've got #468 and #470 of Sapphire's
not #469
This card undervolts so well, I don't understand the cards come at such high stock voltages
Almost all of them seem to do -100mV
they likely aren't allowed to be too far off
They're all over the place, from just over 1.0V up to 1.12V and higher
I also just move the HBM slider all the way to 1200MHz, and it just works
I'm sure it would do higher, but the Utility doesn't
It occasionally jumps to 1340+, for whatever reason
Maybe those jumps were why the cut off 200 Mhz?
Afaik the HBM is rated for 1200 to begin with
This freaking card just passed Time Spy with 916mV without a loss of performance...
Who was the person who got a https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ninox-astrum-lightweight-modular-gaming-mouse#/
I know they were here
@fickle ore
Have they gone out yet?
32 whole GB
I wanna see the IOPS on that bad boy
Lol same
I need to find a SSD for my enclosure
$47aud 256gb Kingston
Actually I might buy that $10 SSD
Chuck it in my dad's PC cause they only have hard drives
Booting off a HDD
Will Windows fit on that though
Enough for an install maybe not all the other shit that comes after
^
128-512 is so cheap I would just step up
Wish I could get a 1-2tb SSD 😞
i have 2 m.2 1tb ssds
GIBE
😭
why u cry
MX518 Legendary is now officially announced outside of asia
@pale sigil i ordered one.. its taking for frikking ever
and no updates
oh, missed the one from 3 days ago
I'd love to get a 2TB SSD for games or some shit
the creator is posting updates on some random forum
First day of 4g desktop internet
I bet in the evening after a month it will be a sick joke
Can never trust phone operators
Would anyone know any reasonable ways to try and bypass fingerprint sensors? in my project im trying to look at current methods of mobile security knowing its pretty secure but i need some old/new methods of bypassing it.
Just to show i have tried
ok callum how does one quote on discord
Yes but ofc i cant do that 😂
there are methods but they are way out of my budget
Right now im referenced different methods such as using playdough in older scanners to replicate someones prints (yes it worked back then) or cases were someone has taken 3d scans and printed one.
etc
but they don't work as well anymore
or in androids case
mounting system files
and removing authentiation completely
The overall topic is about device based security, pin based codes and facial scans
but i was just asking for ideas on fingerprint
so i went off topic then
i have to use my phone and testing as a primary source
So looking into different methods and one im struggling to do with budget is fingerprint
Like a facial mask, there are options for this but cost a lot
My aim is to essentially
- Look at past methods
- Use said methods on my spare phones to show results, so far going to use forensics software, custom recovery and cite the facial id as im not buying an iphone oh and possibly try some old stuff like playdough
- Talk about the results (in most cases it will be tis good now fam)
its an easy win because i know starting i wont have to go into super detail etc
Nearly every modern smartphone comes with a fingerprint reader — but they’re not as secure as they look. All it takes to fake a fingerprint is dentistry past...
people have done it on an iphone before
but the newer phones this is the case
i think past 6s not sure
it's MUCH harder
Exactly 😄 thats the best part
on android you can usually get into the browser and bnypass security wiht that
i can write about this
and have an Iphone 6, 7 and 8 to use
along with 3 ipads
Shirts: http://jlaservideo.com/shop Instagram: http://instagram.com/jlaservideo Learn how to hack the iPhones touch ID using an ordinary piece of chewing gum...
Actually worked
wtf xD
i signed an ethics form
So i cant trick people >:
ik 😂
but still wanted to point out
you cant do anything with aproval
@latent mural
So i think i will try both gum and hot glue gun
Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: r5apex.exe (524) consumed 6952423424 bytes, RadeonSettings.exe (8640) consumed 555429888 bytes, and steamwebhelper.exe (8532) consumed 545775616 bytes.
What, why?
Wifey Office/Gaming PC - In Win A1 mITX Case.

ASUS 1060 6GB DUAL
256GB NVME (Some kind of Samsung. Forgot the No.)
1TB 2,5” HDD (Had it lying around so why not)
Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 AIO
What RTX card did you get
id guess its 2080ti by the fatness of the radiator ;P
btw if you have a chance to run 2 separate cables for gpu pins - do it
It's just a 2080
I suppose there's probably another cable down in there but I just worked with what was already pulled through
i had stability issues with 8x2 cable on 2080ti. Gone completely after running 2 separate cables. Alot of people reporting the same
not sure about 2080 tho
I'm not having any issues yet
but I'm also not pushing OCs
I like my PC being straight up inaudible
Loudest thing I can hear is my refrigerator 30 feet and a wall away
does dlss on battlefield V look like simply not having a sharpening post-processor to anyone?
It's still being tweaked.
The thing with DLSS is that it needs a lot of hours in an AI simulator at nVidia first. They cut corners and released it too early, so it doesn't look very good.
They basically have to re-do it for every game, and every individual resolution. Once the training files have been made and sufficiently trained, the files are shipped with new patches of the games that support it.
nono i mean, like they specifically don't have the sharpening post processor on for dlss, but do for taa
I can't even play it, they still restricted ea acesss members
ea access premier doesn't have it yet?
not to be confused with origin access premier
well yeah you have to wait 6 months for the full game to come to regular access
Yes but the issue
Is the 10 hours is bugged
You can't play Multiplayer
Only singleplayer
EA support confirmed this and still isn't fixed after 2 months
"bug" 😃
Support said they'll compensate me by renewing trial/giving me more ea access time
maybe in 6 months
I have the chat transcript so I'll fight them innit
heh
Only got it for bfv tbh
Ye
it's almost march.. i wouldn't hold my hopes up
i think you mean buy a month of ea access premier
Well that's not good
Bumped my pc
Turned off and booted up
Launched anthem and it rebooted
And now my pc won't turn on
no post beep? oh deer
so callum doesnt have connection problems but anthem fried his pc
Re sat the ram
So far so good....
Let's launch game
Think the vibration did some shit
Rip
Why?
Silly billy
Yeah that's working as intended
If it's not properly clearing out then you're hitting some weird bug
I had that with network drivers
Every time a new update was out the hogged ALL the ram and threw it in the unallocated pool
have this running on my pcs since years cause some windows progs dont GC properly
I use that too
For some reason when plugging my tv into the computer it detects the tv but doesn't allow anything to be sent to it
Wait no I'm an idiot is all
For some odd reason I cannot transfer audio
If you're using an nvidia card try reinstalling their audio driver
Fixed it for me some time ago
Its for callum, Skrub ;P
installing 2 almost identical wifi dongle drivers broke one of the drivers for me :c
one of the dongles just lags now
lags a lot
and nothing seems to help
did you tried to delete devices from system? In control panel
let me elaborate what almost identical means, they have the same hardware id
even though they are different products
with different capabilities and age
sometimes its surprising how bugs are forming
probably there is bad registry value somewhere
windows will install the same driver on them, which is the most upto date on the newest dongle
hm.. with normal speed 5ghz wifi vr streaming to a phone is quite alright
is there something like a dump function? to see what they actually doing
oh i gave up already
not sure why you'd say cloudflare dns sucks lol @pale sigil
If does
based on... what?
i mean it could work worse for some locations
i'd like to see what he has to say 😛
interesting
aside from speed (which i have had no issue with on either service) i have had far fewer dns query dropouts with CF than google
and CF updates way more often
google's dns cache buster also doesnt work half the time
A new chapter in mobile begins. The #GalaxyFold is our most significant leap forward, completely reinventing the shape of mobile with our first-ever foldable...
just incase anyone wanted to see XD
2k usd* though
or for the British, £1.5k XD
excuse me wtf
anyone remember how the 3rd gen ipod touches had a light sensor, but no camera lol
for display brightness?
yea
they didn't even have a microphone
but they had the light sensor lmao
that seam impresses me though, tbh
so we're back to flipphones basically
and slider phones
smart flip phones 10+ 5G LTE hotspot

as an EU person 8.8.8.8 seems slower to me
by almost twice CF DNS response time
¯_(ツ)_/¯
must just be his routing to the closest node
my routing to both is quite good, but 1.1.1.1 wins by 7ms
7?
yea
oh on a traceroute?
Cloudflare have direct peering and a server presence in a facility right next to my ISPs hub for my area
Google do too but somehow still seem 7ms worse
actually googles for my ISP might be going to london instead
i mean mine is within 1ms difference
so i cant comment tehre
but google dns has had more issues with querying than cf has
9 google-public-dns-a.google.com (8.8.8.8) 4.471 ms 3.825 ms 4.784 ms
8 one.one.one.one (1.1.1.1) 4.001 ms 4.474 ms 4.368 ms
I just have bind9 as a LAN DNS server
lol
WHY IS THERE THAT HUGE CAMERA NOTCH
it has 3 screens?
it has 3 sides with screens
right..front and 2, basically, on the inside
Lol I never said Google was better
@latent mural psure the uptime of both google and clouflare is over 99.5%
it'S pretty high for both
i kinda want one
I get the best pings to my ISPs DNS servers, lol
@zenith sonnet when I was still at Unitymedia I found out that their DNS server is in mexico
And is also the server that provides updates to the devices of the ISP
Which meant that every time the devices tried to pull updates you had no internet since the server was too slow too handle that much load
Anyone have experience with cpu and os simulator work
depends what you need to know
Pretty much everything because I've been neglecting it
oh an os simulator, never did anything with that sry
QEMU/KVM
XD
Technically Erik and Jeroen
Well okay, developers sure but I'm sure a message to one would reach the others
Probably
Yikes
Good old assembly.
@foggy solstice If say i give you a log sheet, would you know how to answer it?
Probably not.
fffuck
I don't know what it'd be a log sheet of.
@pale sigil what about the Astrum?
your words literally mean nothing to me
all i can say is i can provide a log sheet lmao
this is all confusing to me
You asked about me couple days back about the Ninox Astrum mouse
1-2 months till backers receive em
ah
you want to know how it is? 😄
ye
he ded
i've had that happen
or maybe the port is broken
port/cable
funny how that's possible
you'd think it just would stop working altogether
but no, a gigabit can turn into 100mbit
yea just sounds like something has caused it to drop the link down to fast ethernet
happens to one of my runs I need to redo the crimp job on every so often as one of the pairs comes loose
@pale sigil sounds like 802.11b
Didnt even think that was a thing anymore
Would explain 11Mb/s
@proud nacelle guess who doesnt get good qemu support on windows then... anyone using amd processors
whpx support on qemu is pretty shit compared to haxm
and i sadly cant switch to linux for the reason of some of my apps not working under wine and there being no real linux equivilant
Well
My friends 2070 died
Told him to get a refund and look for another card
(he had a MSI 2070 Armor)
He ends up getting a refund, then goes and buys a blower 2070

wtf
I told him
"Get a refund and get a 1080ti, rtx isn't stable yet and probably won't be for a long while"
Him: RTX is starting to get good, just give it time
dlss and real time raytracing don't work well with those cards anyway
btw more news about the glorious model O
oo
shape should be moire similar to the FK1, which I much appreciate
and they went with white PTFE feet for the final product
the "XD" is strong in this one
XD
I don't know if I'll like the ambidextrous shape to mouse's, too used to the 502 shape
It's 1/3 of the 502 weight
I feel like flicking the mouse would just be crazy
would still die for a wireless g502
I'd guess it's between 68 and 69
im gonna guess 65g
@karmic grail he deserves that for playing Forknite
@sand sage buy this mouse if you are interested in one of that price segment https://www.amazon.de/Logitech-G203-kabelgebundene-Optische-Mio-Farb-LED-Anpassung/dp/B01MYQ4HJD/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1550840823&sr=1-1&keywords=g203
So more mouse discussion.. someone here recommended the Logitech G Pro, but it seems to break after half a year tops? Zowie seems to be more robust maybe?
no
teh g pro wireless is good
but expensive
If anything I'd go for wired. Zowie seems to be more expensive.
zowie is also good, but has no macro support and their mousewheels aren't that great
the g pro wireless is completely different form any other wired mouse
I don't care about wireless, just wired.
Also don't care about macros or colorful lights
Then get a zowie
@latent mural I've fully prepared my wallet for the model O
though it's just 50usd so it'll be fine 🙃
Which Zowie?
depends
most prefer the FK/S series
if you want an ergonomic mouse get the EC series
Yeah, I just want a ergonomic high quality mouse
get an EC-B then
the divina ones are better although I couldn't stand the color myself
Those are pink and baby blue? Why are they better?
@latent mural i see your point, but i'm after the color scheme!
orange/white/grey-black, to match the keycaps!
@latent mural the feet on the normal ones can cause problems
@sand sage vinyl will fix that up 🙃
Divina has pads instead it seems.
tehy all have pads
the ones on the divina are bigger
Yeah, big pads front and back rather than four small ones
the sensor o nthe normal ones can make some hum, which mine didn't have
and spinout issues have been resolved
altough mine doesn't spin out even when tilt slamming
Divina are the same size?
or wait for the glorious O that will also be released next month
yes
the EC1-B is bigger the EC2-B is smaller
the divina have a glossy caoting which is better if you have dry hands
and if you don't you can rub the coating off with a kitchen sponge
I have rather wet hands I think
size comparison
I'd reccomend getting the EC1-B at about 19 cm tall hands
So you expect that Glorious O to be good?
definetley
seems to be one of the best mice if it is out
Guess I can wait and see how it pans out
yep
@latent mural that one's real purrdy, but a bit more than i want to spend, considering this will be my office mouse (i have a g403 at home)
thanks for the link tho
👀
?
*pounds
.....pounds
Buy it before 20.3. :P
?
29.3. sorry
?
Just snarky comment about Brexit. Move along.
Hmm I have two graphics cards now
mm some problems with fallout76 I read that behesda games don't support wooting but i thought in digital mode it would work properly but no, i'm stuck at the menu screen I can't select start.. I have to unplug the keyboard (tried disabling in the device manager but some devices can only be uninstalled and disabling the xbox controller forces me to restart the computer...
oh i ll put it in games talk
Sadly Bethesda games don't support 2 inputs at once.
oh
You will need to disable xinput in Wootility.
ah let me check\
by choosing directinput?
i can't "disable" it
i had 2 keyboards also one with arabic letters
You can disable xinput here
ah found disable xinput thanks
ok
i had plugged the usb keyboard on the front of my bench case
waw works perfectlly many thx
you're a veteran lol you have had one for a long time?
Longer than literally anyone 😄
Not in that way no, but i was a tester so i have a proto woot and consumer woot
oh good
first i ordered a woot one which i cancelled immediately for me no numpad is a no no (gta, enterring numbers in excel etc), and the team told me the wooting 2 was in kickstarter with a numpad i immediatly funded it
but i thought given the website, profesionalism etc it was a company like razor or asus, msi etc etc then i saw there 4 i said wtf loool how but how, they mod and replicate themselves like clones ahah
they must have been very tired conceiving and shipping and everything they did it very fast , it was shipped only 2 days ago and i have it
It was definitely a long and tiresome day to pack all of the EU boards. 😄
hm feature idea: enabled/disabled xinput as part of a profile
so you can switch from analog profile to digital with disabled xinput e.g. when launching fallout
why do you need vmware?
cos its better than Virtual Box
@proud nacelle that doesnt solve anything on smth like xqemu thats pmuch all cpu emulation rn
and even then i tried passing a 1080ti and it ran like garbage
kvm tho runs smooth af
same for haxm
plus theres no excuse for amd not having a good accel in qemu
it is tru but on the otherhand i dont wanna dual boot just for qemu
i still hope a good sharex alternative for linux comes around
maybe whpx support gets better soon
then it doesnt matter what hardware u on as long as u can use hyperv
i still fail with gpu passthrough
why not game on linux
3 attempts i gave up
i heard the whole dx to vulcan shit is going good
Also found it annoying controller my cooler, mouse and gpu was aids
*controlling
its still aids
like, i use the terminal for everything.
Im used to it
but when it comes to shit like gpu and cooler
its just aids
Corsair Glaive
i know alternative software
so dont bother
but its still annoying 😄
I use linux for server and Laptop, never been able to fully adapt to using it on Desktop
but what use is that if you can't do the stuff you want to do?
I use windows becasue it works
Pretty much
guess what I mainly do at home on my windows machine?
it doesn't work flawless
but it works at all
oh tell me about all the problems you had in win 10
and all the nightmares
i'm sure they are absolutely unfixable
how about just not using ltsb
then don't touch them
for DX12 you need win 10 though
and as far as I know you can't run DX12 in wine
yeah
but can I run all my games then
if they aren't made for linux?
I want to play warframe though
and I understand why the devs don't make a linux version
If I want to limit me to non linux games there isn't a lot left
I know that game works fine in wine
but not all games do
If I have to work out how t orun a single game every time I want to play it it just isn't worth
Linux is just too much work
you an
but only for games that don't use dx12
if those come out you have to make up a solution
and I don't think the Forza games are somehow runable
I do that stuff enough at work already
the payoff is much much much greater with linux tbh
Warframe is very stuttery indeed until the cache is filled
i use gentoo cause i love requiring 60gb of ram to compile chrome
FireFox quantum ftw
ever tried to use gentoo and go the compile everything route?
firefox is like 45gb of ram to compile and chrome like 60
What the hell happened?
na gentoo has precompiled shit
10 years ago I compiled everything on Gentoo with my shitty computer with just 1 gigabyte of ram and it was FINE
i set up a nice threadripper 2990wx and 128gigs of ram and it literally ramped to 60gb
Sounds like what happens when you have that many threads cranking it at the same time
i dont use partpicker
i order directly from amd etc
better prices for me
plus we used ecc 2933(i think) ram
the fan for the chipset
the nicest workstation i built so far
i think they wanna upgrade to more gpus soon aswell
yes i build systems for a living and fix systems
we sold it to the local city
they plan to upgrade that one and buy another one
ikr
but they have bought so many other weird things like 2 big utax copying systems with automatic fax and email sorting
@plush summit Don't style on id's, be smart about naming classes, don't do infinity nests
@pale sigil if you wanted to position something absolutely within a parent element, that parent element must be set to relative. otherwise it will be absolute relative to the document or another parent
yeah, i'd avoid using IDs for anything except the most unique stuff
IDs can only be officially used once
in your html
so say you have a logo in your header and footer
you want something like .logo not #logo
that way you can use <div class="logo"> in N places
You could look into BEM
I use a form of it for naming classes
It's not the holy bible, but they got some useful "rules"
yea less/sass
you can scope your css
requires compilation, but lets you use variables, loops, etc
i've been loving tailwindcss tho
i havent written a lot of manual css in a while
so
.element {
// styling
.other-element {
// other styling
}
}```
becomes
```css
.element {
// styling
}
.element .other-element {
// other styling
}```
And you can do stuff like this
.wizard {
&-progress {
display: flex;
margin: 0 0 1rem;
justify-content: space-between;
}
// other styling
}```
generates .wizard-progress
which will become .wizard-progress when compiled
every time i think about the days when stuff like sass didnt exist
i'm so glad it does now
input {
// styling
&:focus,
&:active {
outline: none;
}
}```
which will become input:focus, input:active {}
Also look into Emmet
If you prefer being lazy like me
o god emmet is so awesome
especially for :vomit: browser prefixes
🤢
also... this works:
background: {
image: url('../assets/icons/check.svg');
position: center;
size: 0.65rem;
repeat: no-repeat;
color: var(--success);
}```
this will turn into:
background-image: url('../assets/icons/check.svg');
background-position: center;
background-size: 0.65rem;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-color: var(--success);```
hah you inspired me to add rich presence
huh
rich presence?
i added my IDE to discord
Oh yeah I'm working on a project right now for a group of friends
Now they can see when I'm busy 😛
haha
Bring a little more structure to your css and makes it easier to find certain things
yea it will make a lot more sense in the long run
especially in a large project
kinda forces you to put things in the correct place
And doesn't really take any extra effort
yea
reduces the number of lines you will write as well
reduces the chance of typos
because you know that the class name for child definitions will be correct
etc
Lol do you guys use any Atlassian products?
I just logged out of Bitbucket... so. many. redirects.
Oh and you can do loops in SCSS @plush summit
@for $i from 1 to 10 {
&:nth-child(#{$i}) {
transition-delay: #{$startMS + ($increment * $i)}ms, #{$startMS + ($increment * $i)}ms;
}
}```
```scss
$priceSizes: (
'1.875rem': ('nl', 'de', 'fr', 'be', 'es', 'fi'),
'1.25rem': ('au', 'nz', 'se', 'za', 'cz'),
'1.125rem': ('dk'),
'1rem': ('no', 'hu')
);
@each $size, $countries in $priceSizes {
@each $country in $countries {
html[data-country='#{$country}'] {
.event-list .slide-item footer .event-price {
font-size: unquote($size);
}
}
}
}```
The last one is just dreadful but I refuse to use javascript for styling things 😛
@ruby ibex I'm not particularly a fan of Atlassian products, better than using the Microsoft suite I guess but I'd rather have Gitlab
I use Bitbucket because I'm Dutch and it's cheap for what I'm using it for
@ruby ibex right now I'm only learning with a college teachers
But it doesn't do us any good if they don't teach us what not to do
@crude cipher no just the online version
Selfhosted Atlassian products are too expensive 😥
You get unlimited private repos with gitlab
but gitlab is kinda suck
Haven't tried GitLab yet but i'm satisfied with BitBucket so I'm gonna stay there
@plush summit I guess you just learn by doing and refactoring from time to time
Shouldn't really be necessary in CSS but that's probably not the only thing you're working on
FYI this is what happens when you have 973 tabs open across 8 windows
that
that shit right there
that's why I upgraded my rig to 64gigs of RAM
that's nothing, the other day I had firefox at 12GB RAM with only one tab open
that must've been a memleak
yep raider.io does that if you leave the page open
25% CPU and 12GB RAM even after closing the tab
wow
Or if you jsut have a twitch video open
XD
@pliant tulip isn't exactly normal to have 973 freaking tabs
uhu, so i need to update windows to get the rtx stuff working...
need to figure out if any slowdowns of performance happened between now and july last year

@pale sigil Mobile Security and the Biometrics Dilemma
to late
Oof
gtx 1180 rumours again
sigh nvidia milking everything
they aim to concur all the positions
I really love nvidia for their products but their marketing is total shit
oh neat, i dont like nvidia at all
but there only is a choice of 2
and one is MIA
and i need a gpu after all these years
idk i hate nvidia i like their gpus tho
i dunno can one like the product if they buy it and there never is a choice if you need that type of product
well u like what u find most useful
and for me (cause as mentioned plenty of times) nvidia cards are the only real way for deep learning
i think it's not always possible to like/not like a product if it's the only one you can get
anyway
@latent mural I'm quite happy with my VII
id buy a 7 instantly if it would have the same capability for deep learning
i wish my card had that much vram
@zenith sonnet well you have a clear use case, if I recall correctly
Like how?
Need a GPU that cranks out frames 😂
And can do Freesync
Unless you need GSync, AMD got a good option there
well, freesync works on nvidia now
i haven't tried it on mine yet
because i'm too lazy to press the update button :p
but from what i heard, it's quite decent?
works perfect on my dispaly
It has 1 frame more lag than AMDs implementation or something
Other than that, it works
The biggest issue is the low number of supported displays
Nice
it's just that freesync monitors due to AMD not certifying the specifications are somewhat of a wild west, NVIDIA have been personally testing freesync monitors and only a dozen or so meet their looser than gsync but still quite strict specifications to be classified as "GSync Compatible"
AMD have quite a few driver level hacks to work around some of the monitors being garbage
and some that have issues on NVIDIA work perfectly if you simply tweak the range slightly
also there is not a frame extra input lag on NVIDIA, not sure where you heard that
it's been tested with adaptive sync off versus on with a freesync panel on nvidia
this looks interesting
something seems to be broken with dlss in BV
If i use DSR to 4k on a 1080 monitor and then run the game in "4k" with dlss it looks like less than 1080
any DSR smoothing is disabled, the desktop is crisp
Yeah
Read about that, they didn't give it enough time and released it too early
It's not optimised and the quality is way too poor
well it's not DLSS is bad, this is clearly just broken
this is just doesn't work
annoying i need to restart the game to check new settings
You're atm better off running the game in WQHD and downsampling to FHD than using DLSS
Is 0.3% packet loss concerning?
🤔
ok, seems to be better now that i've restarted with the new settings, but that hell was bugged
and motion is tons less blurry than taa
hm..no there is actually more blur with dlss
Fuck TAA, seriously
It's the only AA Apex, has, though
And the game has severe issues without AA
As if they'd purposely created textures that made the game look horrible without
And I haven't managed to force AA through the driver yet
Probably not possible unless they support it, since the game is DX11
i think dlss "works" only at 4k
aaand now BV crashes on boot
a basic sharpening filter sure helps a ton
bugs bugs bugs
then why should i be surprised dlss is effectively of not working
i wish i could just disable AA
no aa looks the best with the best performance
DLSS looks better than resolution scale tweaking after.. more work than i'd like to put in
Hey guys, I can't get my wooting two to work correctly in csgo
for some reason I can jump+walk+aim
but I can't reload, change weapon, use something etc
anyone knows how to fix it?
when in analog
got my g305, its nice but buttons are way to sensative
I tried Gsync with my Massdrop Vast, got flickering, turned it off.
My quest for the perfect mouse continues
Maybe the new finalmouse if they dont make stupidly littlle ammounts of it
@ashen spindle us only
no?
Non-us is even easier to get, or at least that was the case for the last 2 variants
they sold it through maxgaming
@fickle ore i really think ninox astrum will be right for me
What's the ~ worth of a used Blackwidow Ultimate?
(2016)
Quite good condition, a few scatches and keys are still fully there
Windows this is not acceptable behavior.
@main trellis thats with the razer greens right?
Also, probably like £35-50
Convert to local currency and you're away
Ty
how long did you use
is there shine on keycaps
have you cleaned it
etc
the only second hand keyboards that go for a decent amount of $ are customs or really the really small run keyboards that are $$$
razer, corsair, etc expect to get bottom dollar for it
i had 2 blackwidows, both double clicked fater a year or so.
oh and shiny keycaps ofc
altho font is still intact
my masterkeys M has surprisingly little shine
@ornate forge same, my keycaps were like mirrors but still had the printed legends
i replaced it with a sweet DSA keycap set lol
and converted the keyboard to usb c plug
@chrome estuary you're a special snowflake with a special Windows distribution
Ikr
What makes that mouse special?
the rgb that you clearely need on a mouse
My mouse already has RGB, checkmate
but does it have 16.8 million color?
Mine does 🕵
it's <69 grams
Compared to a fully weight 502 at 120 odd grams
nice a low budget louqe knockoff
It's 190usd
It's not even low budget I realised
The quality/panel gaps on it is horrible
@pale sigil I think Astrum is, atleast it will be for me :D. Definitely one of the most interesting mouse atm
Hello I am scripting my keyboard with node.js and in basic example I have this code
const ffi = require("ffi")
// Define the functions from the DLL
const wootingAnalog = ffi.Library('./libs/wooting-analog-sdk.dll', {
"wooting_kbd_connected": [ 'bool', [] ],
"wooting_read_analog": [ 'uint8', ['uint8', 'uint8'] ]
});
const keyboardConnected = wootingAnalog.wooting_kbd_connected()
if(!keyboardConnected) {
console.log('Keyboard not connected')
};
// Every millisecond, read the W-key with index 2:2
setInterval(() => {
const row = 2
const column = 2
const analogValue = wootingAnalog.wooting_read_analog(row, column)
console.log(`Analog value: ${analogValue}`)
}, 1)
Its good ?
Oh yes sorry ^^thanks you
in need of an advice
is it a good idea to put an rtx 2080 in a micro tower case?
considering it's a quite hot card
@misty saffron honestly I'm not having heat issues with mine
If you're worried, get one with an AIO cooler I guess
perfect, thanks
🤔
lmao what
Math checks out, I don't see what the problem is here
If you want the file to get smaller, use the -180% decompressor instead
the file has grown in size from 10 to 30
that's 20 of difference
and 200% of 10 is 20
Just got my wooting and I haven't been in the loop about any software development going on. Have there been any cool ideas or features using the analog input for typing/programming that you've heard of?
@latent mural you can try #🤖│community_dev
@timid chasm it's a relative %, (a - b) / a
thats not how github works
?
You mean how I forked and then added some random shit?
Yeah, will be in it's own repo at some point, but the existing .NET wrapper seemed to be .NET Core and I had some issues getting it working
so I converted it to .NET Framework and added in my stuff
its .net core for reasons
Well I just wanted to make some progress
Can worry about that later
As it turns out, I don't think it being Core was the problem in the end
the initial problem at least was because the APIs do not support the W2
It wasn't until after I did the conversion that I realized that
well the official repos dont
Yeah I had to use your DLL and the other one
The primary thing I gotta do at the moment is work out the row/column to scancode lookup table
I have the left side of the keyboard done:
as in true ScanCode, not wooting code 😉
The existing .NET wrapper is going to need to be rewritten IMHO, it only works with QWERTY
This table is only correct for QWERTY: https://github.com/evilC/Wooting.NET/blob/master/Wooting.NET/WootingKey.cs#L214
The API needs to be key name agnostic
Unique ID for each key needs to be ScanCode, with key names for each ScanCode varying at run time depending on locale
Admittedly, my new lookup table is ISO-specific, we may need another lookup table for ANSI, I dunno
just make it load a lookup table from a variety
Right. Although I think it will more likely be to start with base table with common stuff, then add an ANSI or ISO patch
I dunno tho, I suspect that the scan codes do not change even when the location on the keyboard changes?
Hey i need help. I dont know how to set up a profile for a game and the one i imported doest seem to wokr ingame.
@digital cliff I would say that is over-simplifying it some. XI is fairly fluffy and simple, DI less so.
IMHO, saying that it is "Very easy" is kind of inaccurate at this point - there are a bunch of issues presently that make it less than easy
DI axes by default do not map to full range
Not all DI axes are mappable
DI device has no axes when XI mode enabled
If you map a key to eg X axis Left, but none to X axis right, you only get half the scale
OK, so only for games where you use solely keyboard input, or the game lets you use XInput and mouse together?
It's about making it work with games
is it possible for a wooting keyboard to not have a upper limit? so for example if I bottom out the button it registers as not fully pressed
so it stays for example at 75% input
@novel helm the one you imported? Most likely its a wooting one profile and currently there are some issues with importing wooting one profiles
make sure the right-most point is not at the top of the graph
when I try that, it doesnt work (at least in counterstrike)
it still runs at full speed
CS does not support joystick input?
I think the game is still seeing the digital inputs
AFAIK CS:GO does not support joystick input
it does
all source engine games have at least the ability to read controllers and map them
oh right, yeah, you have to edit that config file or something?
exec the controller config the game ships with yea
that wiki seems to say you need to do it every boot, might be different with csgo but with hl2 I don't recall having to do it more than once
@hazy palm so it sounds like the problem is with the game, not with the profile you imported. You need to set up the game to support controllers
If you have "Xinput Enabled" in the wootility, you should have one or more controllers listed in joystick control panel (start -> joy.cpl). Find the one with 10 buttons, and if you can make the lights in the preview for that stick light up when you hit buttons, then the wooting -> xbox mapping is working
it does work partly, I just can't get it to not bottom out
Well, if you can edit key bindings in CSGO, you are better off unbinding WSAD
that way, you will still be able to type while in that profile
Otherwise, to eg type in a chatbox, you would have to switch to the digital profile
ok guys I worked it out
I'm just retarded
I thought it registered the settings without saving, like a preview
turns out you have to save first
Who's watching the skies for a new mouse to accompany their new keyboard?
Ninox Astrum still not coming for 2 to 4 months it seems...
Might be looking to this as a cheapo finalmouse clone
Sadly no buttons on the right (ring/pinky) side
@warped dove I'm looking for a new one
Just returned a g305 and my corsair glaive is being a cunt
I always forget that my GPW has a battery, lol
@warped dove shape is apparently somewhat between finalmouse and FK1
And there is no cheapo finalmouse
Since finalnouse already is cheapo
I don't understand the numbers in the Logitech Software either
The G900 lasts about 3 or so days, when a charge is supposeds to last 60h or so
The GPW lasts about 3 weeks, when it's supposed to last 80h
I have the light off
I've charged it twice since I got it early January
Currently use it with powerplay at work
I'm not using it for 14h a day, but maybe 8 on average
Well you can't get much cheaper than 0 £ $ € since fianlmouse is not available anywhere
There isn't even an official vendor in the UK
My mousewheel didn't break (yet)
Maxgaming is the official eu vendor
They ship from sweden I think
But you coulen't get most of them since finalmouse doesn't know how to mass produce correctly
And not only is their quality sub par
But their qc also is
They didn't realise they'd actually sell their stock.
Especially the air 58 had a lot of doas
They do
They use ninja to promote
And the 25k of the phantom sold out in minutes
Guess what their new mouse will be
The only thing known is that it weighs 47 gramms
I can guarantee you that they didn't fix the mousewheel issues
And will only take 3 months to ship
Horrible company
tbh my favourite mouse for FPS so far has been a 50g wireless gigabyte mouse because it was so sall and I could flick it like crazy
It wasn't made for gaming. It fit in my palm alone
Oh
hey, can someone help me set up analog profile for rocket league. I cant play the game on the profile i imported. and when i tried disabling normal keys i cant move ingame
@warped dove I currently use the FK1 and EC1-B
Waiting for Ninox Astrum glossy edition
backed it
I hope it dont take longer than 2 months
I'm early to a bill Gates ama, please notice me
i really need a 4k firestick
No
After soon two weeks I gotta say Vega is <3
Also found out my modems uoload power levels are in the 'immediate service' area
Explains some issues...
Getting a new one today, though
Gotta see what it'll be like then
just grip taped my mouse
and instinctively went from palm to fingergripping my EC1-B
lol
it's almost a palm grip
that's what she said
Time to replace all my switches springs 😓
my wooting seemed have a problem
it seemed? so it doesnt have it anymore
still have I do not what to do, the troubleshoot points I did all the steps
whats the problem
after the keyboard reset - 6 leds will burn
Wooting 1 or 2?
wooting one
Hey there! it has been brought to my attention you need a link for right side leds not working, here you go! :) https://wooting.helpscoutdocs.com/article/29-the-right-part-of-my-leds-go-out-sometimes
This might be caused by a wire that is stuck underneath the circuit board in your keyboard. Watch the video below for an easy fix. If this fix doesn't help&
Wootility wont detect the Wooting
