i dont get 400 dpi and 2000+ dpi
windows has a dpi setting?
im at 1000
this is how i like it
everything below is too slow
3000
wot
how even
thats way too fast imo
how does one use windows with that
I'm at 800
better than 400/1600
forget about 3200
the sticker is removed
would look a lot like this
ewww
wireless before good wireless
the 2070 i ordered got delayed till the 20.
ye
either a delayed brick
dafuck
or a strangled brick
rip
@latent mural dont think this anne pro will be of any use to you
pcb is fucked most likely
rip
sure
i'll take it
The rtx series is selling so bad that there are never any in stock
@latent mural do you live in australia?
no
or any other bad supplied place?
why does everyone think the rtx cards are bricks
plenty here in the uk
my supply chain goes through poland, i bet it's those damn poles
oh
not as bulky as amd cards btw
sure
rtx has a lot of 3 slot designs
i couldn[t care less for raytrace
I like how the blower MSI card is sitting in stock for months
ye
but hbm2 does antialiasing well enough to not care about dlss
and tensorcores are useless to the average consumer
btw @pale sigil tell me what shipping to germany costs and your paypal and I'll pay it to you
Some sellers are selling 2070 rtxes for 470 euro..
yes?
mostly depends who you want to go with
should be a ratehr normal price
ehh
I don't really care about the shipping company
pls no hermes
make sure to ship before brexxit
other than that I don't care at all
do the ups express delivery
I don't care about the few euros more
Well, i will try and sort it out by next week, i dont have a printer so i have to do it at uni
xd
wait how old is callum
500ish
13
π
thats what i guessed
with ur playmobil knife?
Oy
oh shit
Cheats and looks up age
hes serious
im 23
You got a loicense for that playmobile knoife?

you mistyped 9
i know u wish u were 23 so u dont need mommy for everything
"mate" as if we are mates mate
i hate it, everyone i know doesn't or pays next to nothing
and i still pay for the internet and usually electric
same callum
my employer was like "ure kidding right? 450 for upkeep?"
he was like "i only took 50 from my kids"
now I pay 370β¬ a month with everything included
i would move out but i have no stable income
rip
i might move out in a few months
Im saving up, once i start working after uni im going to move out maybe 6 -12 months in
What really makes me sad is if i never fucked up with my finances
if you are able to use simple programms and are capable to communicate when something breaks what broke you are hired
I'll likely leave uni with exactly 0 because I spend my money way too fast
i almost read "fucked up with my fiances" and was like "dude u are 23 and had multiple fiances wot?"
then i realised u typed finances
psure at that point its called a plotter
one calender costs you about 0.13β¬
Any fields you are really good in? Tutoring.
and you sell it for 0.30β¬
Damn it, looks like a missed a nice discussion about mice ^^
Anyone have any old spare parts, cpu, ram mobo etc
Well, I've got a CPU
I have a 750D case
been trying to build a small server for nearly a year now, i cant afford to just buy brand new hardware etc
so its been a struggle.
i have been trying to find a dell optiplex too
then, no
All Servers checked β in stock β ready to ship β order today, receive tomorrow! | Servershop24.de - Buy used servers from DELL, HP or IBM and save money.
i live in the uk π
you can get servers and hardware for very little there
the issue with these sites is they over charge
We have those at our school callum, what do you want to use them for?
i dont reccomend them
they have xeons for cents
They are fine for 4th gen onwards
I use a NAS but there are certain things that fustrate me i cant do on it
so i want to build a micro system and have full linux running
In summer we had to place fans next to them to not let them overheat and shutdown though
instread of being crippled from time to time
Linux might be fine
my uni uses them except atm they are 7700s or 8700s
with 32gb ram and 980s still
xD
And im some classes with corsair k75s
In networking rooms we use a lot of vms
like 5 at a time
Have multiple server racks etc also
for lab work
Which btw im still yet to experience
i think our server might run off of a forking raspi
they just like to waste money
it is SO slow
they were binning 6700s the other week
Don't insult my Raspi cluster.
i asked can i buy one for my dissertation work
Damn you have a cluster
they said no π¦
Oof
Foo
they outsource it
or is it really that much faster?
give me one
They are like 20 bucks, depending on the model
You can get a 3+ B nowadays for that O.O
Yeah well, i use one raspi just to fuck around with some software for my school, but it is waaaay to slow to even handle greenfoot
Tbh dont use a raspi as firestick
124 quid with a code
Decoding is unreliable
not that bad
Im pretty sure we have those
anything is better than firestick
my firestick takes 10 min just to start watching something
crashes all the time
and kodi is dogshit slow
00f
audio always cuts off etc
i have the first gen :/
the infamous first gen
mine cost 10 quid
xd
Heh callum that pc goes for 86 pounds with 1 ssd + wireless
thats why i got mine
Das pritty good
where?
- The fucks a firestick
issa stick
- What is this https://www.conrad.de/de/kingston-ironkey-basic-s1000-usb-stick-128-gb-silber-iks1000b128gb-usb-30-1678516.html and why does it cost more than my current PC
chromcast is just press a button on hte app and it works instantly
and then ~5 min to connect to wifi, if it doesnt i have to reset it
Ye it is, but

Royal Mail: 2 days.
21.50
But thats not this ironkey thing
(IMO RSA is safe enough)
Homeware & Electrical Auction - Auction Ends Mon 11th Feb 2019 - 8PM
what are the chances of rma xD
I just googled firestick, and the ironkey thing came up
its a bid ofc it staets at 1 quid
Very high
Its that amazon fire thing
my friend goes there all the time and rmas stuff
he personally got a 1tb 850 evo for 15 quid
yes
I know, but I just wondered why it is so expensive
rmad it xD
what the
It would still look cool to just have sitting around .-.
you can get 800 for 120, by buying 4*200
Yeah well m.2 cuts 2/3 of my budget
oh no wait, actually more.
and 2*250 in raid
960
I don't really need the SSD speed, and am mostly satisfied with my 2*6 HDD
rip
my total hdd space is 25tb
Ah yes, the storage creep.
want one?
corsair deffo rma without proof of pruchase most of the time
actualyl have one flying around
i have 1.2 tb left
somehow got two when buying one
I will now make pancakes and then go to bed. So gn8 to you all o/
so gn all o/
gn
i gotta go to sleep to scream at the mailman tomorrow when he tries to not deliver my EC1-B for the second time
I would like pancankes
Keeper!
@pale sigil buy some dead gpu's and send one to me π© i wanna put one ontop of my pc
https://www.simoncharles-auctioneers.co.uk/lots/2276412/ASUS-RADEON-HD-6950-GRAPHICS-CARD
this one is 100% not a 6950 lol
your glass would melt
hueheueh
It almost actually looks real
Post this on r/sffpc lmao
Vertical 2080ti mounted in Inwin A1
Thermaltake makes a ton of variants on it.
Expect to spend money on canned air - And no pets or kids π
Yeah no thanks
An mITX in name only π
New news say Navi will be later than expected, potentially Q4
I'm really happy with my corsair crystal 280 thingy
Matches my setup really well
but if anyone has some spare change i'd like this for my birthday
Might wanna buy a new case this summer, when I do an base upgrade
I like your power switch
Hmm,
Wonder if I can find a better vBios for my card
rip
Remove power, drain current off the board, then perform a BIOS reset
Also make sure your PSU still works
Automatic repair is Windows, that's after the Bios?
@karmic grail that thing is a paperweight without any rtx titles
4 hours of messing with 5ghz wifi
i learned a lot
i also learned to just pull an ethernet cable next time
glorious 173Mbps 80211.ac
In my experience 5G is just 2.4 with less reach.
it's supposed to go to 800mpbs but my phone dropped support altogether due to EU law, my router doesn't support it; i broke my hostednetwork driver and the windows 10 wireless hotspot function wont allow me to change the channel
so it's stuck inside 2.4ghz channels
but in theory it's supposed to be much better
glorious 9mbps
5ghz is higher bandwidth (because of the tighter waves, more info can be sent) but more susceptible to interference and objects blocking the signal, etc because it cant bounce as far
Its why i have 1 AP on each floor of my house
its good to have
true
interesting
Ah
how much did that cost
Umm
99 for the router, 90 for each AP (3 of them), 80-100 for the switch, 100+ for the box of cat6, another 30 for the short premade cables, 79 for that white box which is basically a management server for the wifi
Cant remember how much the power strip and rack mount were
Probably another 100 or so for everything
Ish? Yeah
I didnt buy it all at once
And i wired up 2 houses with one box of cat6
And i still have prob 200ft or so left
Probably wasted around 60 feet from excess in the pulls
Most rooms have 2 ports, some only have one because of the nightmare getting the cables to them
Yea of course
I do that for rooms with lots of devices
It was ridiculous getting wires across the ceiling and then down to the wall opposite of the router
I had to cut open the wall in the room above
Drill thru the top plate, then thru the cavity and through the next set of boards
And push the pull string through
I had a fiber optic camera, without it i never would have been able to do it
still have 2 24port switches laying round
Anyone know a good router that can sustain 400 Mbps with SQM enabled?
square meters?
Smart Queue Management
Typical recommendation is the Ubiquiti ER-X
But its CPU can only handle 100-120 Mbps
This concludes our testing protocol.
PC VR>5ghzwifi>phone
works almost ok
hopefully something I can provide as a taste test for ones wishing to leave off to apple
@fallow bison what is in that build that the retail value is set at $6500 with 8GB of RAM
At what timing would the CPU even be able to handle that RAM speed?
Yeah
Well, how long ago was Polaris? 4 years now?
3?
They've taken their sweet time designing this
Let's hope it impresses for once
It's 5-8 years old now
too small
a wrist wrest mousepad
Apparently Artisan released a new RM series in December
But the site seems broken for me
Their Website says released 12/2018
that's reasonable
RM series is a budget series?
ok?
held back because I couldn't find out what the RM series will be
and my current mousepad is still fine
Not sure why, maybe it's my adblocker
But their website does not seem to work right
it's always kind of weird
idk
They also used to have a Shiden a few back
It was even smoother than the Shidenkai
And I hated the Raiden. Felt like it was "gripping" my mouse
hey, so quick question, when I turn on tachyon mode, the RGB doesn't turn off with my twoting, did they fix the need to turn off RGB in tachyon mode with the twoting?
hey, anyone around to help me find a bug/issue? If so try to set up a hotkey for discord that is ALT + F9 (or any F key above F5)
and tell me if it worked or not
for some reason it only works with F2,F3,F4 for me
so GTA doesn't want to pick up the analog
gta v is quite annoying, you can use it to drive but only if you dont move your mouse while doing that, and you need to set it back to digital when you exit the car and walk, if you want to move with wasd around
but it does work absolutely fine for driving
or does it not work even when not moving/clicking with your mouse?
ye because while you move your mouse, gta thinks your at a pc and ignore controller input, so you basically need to re-press your pedal key everytime it switches
aka it doesnt really work with a mouse
do you have your analog profile set up correctly?
ye, w as right trigger I think it was
https://html5gamepad.com/ go there and press w when in analog and tell me if the site recognizes it
yes axis 1
hm should be working then
? now it is lol

how can I import a keyboard profile with the new wootility?
idk havent used it yet
I think it isn't yet patched, will be soon, though
This is pissing me off
580, Vega 64, or Radeon VII
Nothing is a good choice, but neither is keeping 290X until Arcturus arrives
time to buy an rtx
^
Heh, 2080 is only marginally better price/performance than the VII
Plus, I'd have to GSync displays, so not really an option
For the handful of displays it works with (mine isn't among them), performance is magically a lot worse than Freesync
'a lot' being one frame more delay
doesn't care about tearing at all
i didnt get tearing yet
It's tearfree, lowest latency possible gaming
well tear-not-free is even lower latency
Tearing was rarely an issue for me either
tearing is certainly not worth paying extra for me
But the improvement in latency and smoothness is well worth it
idk i tried out gsync on a few monitors for a customer
and
idk
didnt feel better than my normal screens
latency according to mr. battlenonsence on youtube will always be higher with adaptive sync
Nope, Freesync does not add any latency whatsoever
and who ever I've asked about the "smoothness", no one could tell me for sure if it's a thing or not with adaptive sync
Frame delivery is perfectly timed
There will be no dropped frames
you can just limit your framerate for that
the question is will u really notice it outside of competetive games
ok so its a you problem
I'm extremely sensitive to latency, I notice a difference between 60 and 144Hz, or 20ms more button to photon delay quite easily
To the point where under some circumstances, playing a game in Borderless window instead of Exclusive Fullscreen can give me migraines
60 to 144 would be hard not to notice :p.. unless you compare to screens that blur a bunch
^
Xenoa that just sounds like your experiencing strobbing at 60hz
amusingly you can 1. live with that 2. get a shitty motion blurry screen 3. ramp up to 144hz
learned to live with it
This is on the same display, Freesync enabled
π€
Also it's a 'flicker-free' backlight
It can do backlight strobing at 60, 100, 120, 144 Hz, but I never used it because it disables Freesync, which is clearly superior
the frame rate itself can cause strobing
Nope
Image goes straight to the monitor
And the monitor refreshes immediately when receiving an image
that's nice. Wasn't interested in in Gsync cause it adds 1 frame I think
G-Sync compatible mode (Software GSync) adds a frame
Hardware GSync also has the same low latency
I think there's something happening because most test i've seen at the same refresh rate, the average latency with gsync is still a couple milliseconds more than vsync off
There's a few variables
ya dont use 30km of display cable
Lol, that too
...
Also, running at 300 FPS internally or using an ingame limiter has different effects than using RTSS to stay within adaptive sync range
meeh, ill just keep using vsync off, or did they increase freesync to 240hz?
Freesync itself has no limit, I think
It all depends on what the display and GPU can handle
And the cable..
Anyway, best is always Vsync off, and using the best available limiter to stay within Sync range
the standard has a supported range
which prob most monitors/cables dont exceed
its like 10-240hz or so

Might take a few minutes
Ordered the same rtx 2070 from another shop, will pick it up tomorrow
includes anthem or battlefield V
50 euro more :/
but at least it's not "maybe in 2 weeks"
this case
i want
just saw a hole in it
boi
honestly, i really want a case where the gpu is placed as if hotswappable
and the cooler poking out as well
basically make it look like a tube amplifier
you mean a testbench?
ahh
a testbench with one of these
test bench with a cover
easier to just make you own
so similar to the cheapest case that linus once had
and your own would be cheaper and far far sturdier
that case was like 10β¬
havent seen it
imagine this but as a pc
that's not a case
that's 4 5mm bolts
it is a case
well it's not pretty
believe me
there is a case somewhere in that
well I jsut meant the basic idea
there WAS a case in there
well my basic idea is the picture i posted
I'd liek to see how my O11 dynamic would look if it was in a normal formfactor
011 dynamic itx version
that pretty much exists
the O11 only really is special because of the price
and the view
there is this
no really
lian li had cases like this for years
OOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGG
but its hard to find lian li cases in australia
unless its very common ones (dynamic)
the pcq38 looks alot like a A1
they also are so expsnisve
you can easily get them in germany thanks t ocaseking
but they really aren't cheap
The Dynamic is the first of their cases with that silhouette and side fan moibts, that I've seen.
I think the original O11 had an Asus version that was similar
but bigger and much more expenisve
I think like 3 times the price of the o11 dynamic
yea
would basically be an h200 but with a glass fron panel
wil llikely be released by nzxt in the next 2 years
but it needs to retain that side mounted fan area
or there will be anotehr even more stupid trend in the industry
in matx it could work
in itx you would only get a single slot
TECHNICALLY... the A1 with a clear front would be exactly a 011 itx
but the PSU is mounted upfront
tbh I don't think inwin is at the level of quality of lian li
sadly yes
but its just a notch under lianli
I'm happy that they noticed that they could half the orice by just using steel instead of aluminum
though my inwin a1 is stupid heavy
oh its aluminium
and you have an aio now
'The modern Scandinavian style design is complemented with tempered glass and brushed aluminium.' - A1 front page
6KG according to caseking
ye
13.2lbs
and 2 gigantic glass panels
inwin a1 thicc boi
the o11 is thick
but you can't even put a hyper 212 in it
would be the biggest improvement if they'd ever make a normal tower version
ah
Both cases are designed for watercooling honestly.
you should do watercooling for both
the o11 air would be an extremely good air cooling performer if it could fit a decently sized cooler
a cryorig h7 would fit
and a noctua nc 14 s
friend of mine has a bequiet vertical cooler in his
performs pretty well
I was originally gonna buy a dark Rock pro4 for the Inwin a1
But then I found the AIO I had in HK which was cheap
you usually can't
What would I look for for if it's a asetek cooler
Any distinct things that stand out
Asetek cooler is the one you twist on right?
ah no it isnt
and then a bracket which goes in the teeth and presses the pump on the cpu
without bracket
no my one has a piece that slides out for Intel/amd bracket
I'll get a pic of it later
ok?
my brotehr legit had a high end system laying on his windows becasue he couldn't bother buying a case
?
just straight into the case
ah
by trying to find waht I searcehd I also found the worst case of them all
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
To be fair I wouldn't mind a box as a case
Airflow is extremely good
I just found out the back of my case is cooler than the front
looks like they just left half of the sides open
reminds me of the worst coller that I have ever seen
lemme look if I can fidn it once again
Shit I didn't pick up the 50c athlon from a local second hand shop
rip
I'll go check tomorrow and see if it's there
The guy selling would probably be like what are you doing buying this
I find it so weird that the CEOs of AMD and Nvidia are related lol. I wonder what family gatherings are like
nvidia ceo gets praised while the parents are angry that amd ceo didnt become a doctor
basically liek any other asian family gathering
being a physician is hugely overrated though
being an it technician is aswell
that's not quite the same as degrees in electrical engineering though
It really is not though, when you look at your potential income.
I'm sure the income of the AMD ceo position is higher than the one of a physician
If you're talking about people that popular it depends. Some doctor with a tv show makes way more than an average physician
but more than teh AMD CEO?
take a look at Dr Oz. As crazy as he is he makes millions
He specifically may not make more than her but he's definitely up there and not even the richest of physicians
Both are quacks too
From Wikipedia
He is said to be a cousin of AMD CEO Lisa Su,[17][18] but this has been dismissed by her.[19]
Lol
Anyway, she's hailed as one of the best CEOs in the tech world right now
And you can see the results
ther are even rumors of intel to buy out AMD jsut to get her as the CEO
Oh she's definitely killing it
It's always good to have an engineer at the top, not a politician
I wonder if I should go custom water loop for my next build
Do something cooler, Ionic Winds perhaps?
Why though?
why watercool?
Chance to reach a higher OC
Also it sounds like an interesting project
And less noise under load
still uses a fan π
yea well, you asked for an opinion. Custom watercool isn't something I would do personally due to the fan + noise + hassle of water inside my pc
I would personally look for alternate ways to cool
Yeah, I'm not too sure myself
With air cooling, you have a lot less performance, it's just unavoidable
But water is expensive and a hassle
Only reason I haven't bothered
To expensive
Isn't a great payoff
I mean ye it's cool but screw spending a fortune for a little less temp
I would guess 300-400β¬ for high quality components, GPU and CPU loop
But while we're at it, why not watercool the RAM and Board? π

Well, side effect, though: Less heat in the case means cooler RAM and Board by default
bad side effect
less airflow means hotter ram and motherboard
especially vrm cooling suffers from that
If you don't have airflow any more, you're doing it wrong
and 300β¬ to 400β¬ is a pretty low estimate, especially for cpu and gpu
As long as you don't go above 50c we all cozy
But a single case fan is more than enough to keep the inside of the case fairly cool
usually yes
When you don't have a 300W GPU and 150W CPU venting into it
I'm waiting on the 3700X or 3800X, whichever has the higher base clocks
and even a fan pointing directly t it wasn't enough usually
tbh
I don't think Ryzen 2 will OC well
or matisse whatever you want t ocall it
Lol, people bashed the FX95xx something with 220W TPD, but the new i9's pull just as much
AMD showed in the last few years that they get every last bit of performance out of their parts
ye
with the difference that the 9900k is just slightly faster
just barely
and the FX95xx were all the same 8350 but OCed some more
and the z390 boards are pretty well built
especially the ones from gigabyte
o11 dynamic
Being married has its perks (like a 4000β¬ tax return), but you're immediately gonna spend that on double purchases, lol
Inwin A1
Too small
H500?
ATX
Although I don't mind larger cases
The O11 looks good and is surprisingly reasonably priced
130β¬, I would expected twice that
Keep in mind it is a heavy boi.,
Anything less than 40Kg is alright
I'm not some middle aged woman demanding not having to lift more than 8Kg
π€

Doesn't come with case fans
I like that
Means I don't have to spend 15β¬ more for some crap fans I'd replace anyway
011 is surprisingly lighter than A1 @reef patrol
the o11 dynamic almost weighs double
6Kg vs 10.1Kg
don't choose the O11 if you want to do any amount of air cooling though
except when you want to get a vertical cooler
AIO and Loops only pretty much yeah.
currently have a nzxt x72 360mm aio in mine
can't reccomend it though
temps are great
everything else isn't
Used to have a Fraktal Design Kelvin S24
looks are ruined by bad rgb and CAM is the worst piece of software that survived for more than a monthj on my pc
I didn't take the corsair one because I though it looked cheap
the NZXT has only 7 color rgb in segments though
Wait oh the 011 dynamic

Thinking of the wrong case π€¦
which one did you think of?
Can recommend fractal cases tho
haven't worked too much with them personally
Have seen many builds in it (also many good reviews and stuff)
I wanted a fractal ITX case but there wasn't any that I liked
Now they have that new ITX one and I really want it
at least you have front fans
Plenty of space to work with, good cable management
It's a full tower though
It's huge
I like big towers but I don't like how easy it is to work in one
Prepare to buy a cable splitter and and a cable extender for the A1 though...
Can put an NH-D15 in there and still have about 3cm of headroom
I LIKE BIG TOWERS AND I CANNOT LIE
List of extenders I bought for A1:
1 to 5 4 pin fan splitter
HDD female plug to molex
Who needs molex though? π
that'S a good thing though
molex is the worst
The shitty fan controller I had needed a molex plug
The first week of me using the case I had no fans
you don't need extra cables for a modular psu

Let me rephrase - Who needs a fan controller for an A1? Does your motherboard not have fan headers? π
and the molex plugs can't killy our psu becasue they hit the case wall in the worst way
yes motherboard has fan headers
no it doesn't have enough
π
how many fans do you have
I have 4 fans
rip motherboard
2 4 pins on motherboard
I have 3
1 used up by AIO
Fan splitters mate
It's plenty
ju8st use fan splitters
you can legit put all 4 fans on one conector without any trouble
Well not the pump, but the fans sure
I used a 1 to 5 fan splitter
That works
The pump has the CPU_FAN1 plug
Splitter has the CPU_FAN2 plug
I hope you set CPU1 to a static speed π
ah, kk
which I'm not sure if it's correct or not
should be half of that
at least that's how it usualyl works
which is a pretty realistic value
might be a mobo glitch then
no
HF-14's do a pretty good
it has to do with how the pumps give out the pwm signal
tbh
I think the HF14 don't do enough static pressure for an itx case to perform well
might check up on it then π±
nah, it's normal don't worry about it
few motherboards have a "pump mode"
FD do have high pressure fans as well
best fan would definetley be teh NF-A12X25
phew
I don't need static pressure
the NF-A12x25 actualyl does both better than most fans
and is quieter than most fans
This case has an 'open top'
it just is THE best
I wish I could afford A12x25 but the brown puts me off
If noctua could just make them black it would dominate the fan market
They uh did

they did it only with all prior fans
I still can't find out the perfect fan placement for the A1
and instead of releasing the 140mm model at the same tiem as the 120mm model tehy isntead released a bracket to mount the 120mm fans to 140mm rads
because it still performs better than those apparently
yes
And no it hasn't died
lol
6months running strong
and a laptop firecuda
I have all case fans sucking air in, lol
you should at least point one out
This is where it all goes out
I have the CPU fan mouted vertically
