@ashen spindle depends how you define shit printer. If you buy nothing but cheap ones they're pretty much all going to have high cost ink or low grade prints. As for maintenance, generally as long as you got the settings right not much will happen as long as you do the cleaning that you're supposed to. But of course all parts do have a life time.. So they will need to be replaced eventually

the digital fingerprint of your motherboard
your microsoft account

So if you're activating Windows on your hardware, it will use your license, not your friend.

Here's what you do.

Use a USB/DVD to do the initial installation. The oldschool DOS esque part. When it's done with that and reboots the PC, shut it down and unplug the SSD. Put it in your friend's PC and he can just set it up himself.

Here's what I'd do.

Create a USB installer using the official Microsoft program.
Shut down and unplug all your drives, plug in the SSD. Boot up from the USB drive. Delete any/all partitions on it and tell it to install on the now empty drive. Let it finish this part, after which it reboots. Shut the PC down and it's done. When your friend plugs it into his PC, it begins the actual installation and finds drivers/activation keys. Not until that point.
