Oh nice, Japan is soon in EU
EU's trade agreements shape trade relations with non-EU countries, aiming to create better trading opportunities and to overcome barriers to trade.
anyhow
tbh i wish my m50xs were more bass
well you can't get more bass without more piercing highs
suggestions?
for like bass cans?
Anything better than m50x regarding bass

Something real funky with my OS going on lately
When i open chrome
my entire os locks up
and i cant use basic programs
i'm not that good with windows
i dont use chrome
but when i open it entire system goes ape shit
think my profile is getting corrupted
In the many years Ive used chrome they've crashed like once?
same here
but i dont use chrome since firefox quantum
but i still use it for some stuff such as web dev
no idea man
but I can tell you that the Monoprice Retros for 30 quid, has amazing bass, and they're cheap enough to basically throw away.
Whoo! Tiny PC is up and running. Now for hours of Windows Updates, before I can OC and play on it.
if anyone is interested im gonna try this https://github.com/sharkyh20/KinectToVR

Today I take a look at this gorgeous, hand crafted wood case that really hits aesthetics out of the park. I've never seen anything as unique as this and like...
My poker is built into a case. No need for fancy wood π
i want wood
I'm sure you do π
#WhatWouldQuinnSay @solar hinge
it's not wood unless it's hard wood
@reef patrol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDuEc9MGfJk have you tried these?
The Nuraphone is unlike any pair of headphones I've ever heard before. The bass produced by these headphones is substantially greater than any other I've tes...
How about fuck no.
why not?
(Still going to ask though π )
seems like something i'd want π
Because I hate headphones that touch my ear - Especially if they try to enter. I can't use in ear phones at all.
wet willy powaz
Nostalgia boiiii
Dang
We still have two of those tiny iPod nano?s.
No screen, 2GB space. Recharges through the jack.
i cant believe it still works
this was my best friend
for so long
im legit gonna use this now
4gb
You're going to be like the guy i saw using a portable CD player recently
Only not quite that bad
Hey man, those Amazon tablets are great
Oh yeah, my sister and dad had those. Probably still in my parent's house somewhere
I thought the American date format was funny
you mean the backwards, stupid, mentally handicapped American Date format?
i think the audio port is broken π¦
make sure you use an audio online headphones
I do mean that date format yes
wut
No inline mic i guess
Too many ohms dude
You've got to also find some earbuds that came with a phone from like 2006 for the authentic experience
xD
gutted now
christ
the shit i have on here makes me cringe
everything else apart from Avenege Sevenfold
you can get a portable dac?
i have a dac
try using the dac you have now inbetween
is it a portable one with its own power source π
Oh no, its a scarla pro
just try for now if it would work with a dac in between
cable from your sony to the dac and then to your sennheiser
nope
port is faulty
cos its working wiht myu headphones
when you mess with it
such a shame
xD
guess thats why i stopped using it
lol
Not hard to fix, if you can pry it open.
Bit of solder and a trip to the local components store.

That's a slick looking box. Onboard graphics only?
Also update on my broken mouse, Razer are being nice to me and replacing it with a deathadder elite, despite mine being an older model and outside of warrenty
Yep.

4500 max RPM, 218 CFM
45 god damn dbA
If this doesn't keep the case cool idk what will lmao
218 CFM is about 10 liters per second
I really wanna get a 2k monitor but like, there's a mental block stopping me
Make sure you can push that kind of frames. All I'm saying π
do you have an ssd in your system at all?
I have some program that will allow me to move a game to a faster ssd, like if that's the game I'm playing heavy at the moment
steam mover or something
only have 250gb
Keyboard prototyping π
@pale sigil Short Stroke a HDD.
It can give you a pretty sweet boost for a large chunk of the harddrive.
3 Partitions of the same drive. (3TB)
The trade off is that the actual drivehead makes shorter movements in order to load the games.
@smoky moat honesty you did show quite a bit of biasism in your comment
@smoky moat he is right tho in regards to being more stable
I love the reviews on the case fan I bought, omg
Pros: -It will cool your computer case quickly
-It is double ball bearing, so horizontal mounting a-okay
-Spins fast
Cons: -The fan is about as thick as a regular case fan plus a half, so beware
-When it was completely revved-up, it made my whole computer case shake like an unbalanced washing machine
-It changed weather patterns in my community for a couple of hours until i made a good fan profile for it
-Only a three pin connector
Other Thoughts: -You have a case cooling problem, this is the solution. You could have two of these blowing through a filter into your case, and it would overpower 4-6 other case fans depending on the airflow, and rpm's of the other fans. It is a beast! I only have one, and when it goes all super saiyan mode, it sounds like my computer has a turbine engine in it. It moves so much air that my other fans slow down because they cannot do anything to help this one fan show. I have three fans in (one of them being this one) and four fans out. Idling around 30% it is about as loud as my other fans, anything above that, it is fairly noticeable.
I just found a fan that can move 241 CFM
113.7 liters per second
mother fuahsfogasidf
^ LTT Intensifies
I wanna get an evaporative cooler for my pc
Like, full-on wall-mounted air conditioning to pump heat outside
That's LTT af
Liquid cooling is so basic though
Like "Lul look I cool my processor with stuff that looks like jUICe"
Whats the point in faffing around tho
If you have to ask that question, you wouldn't understand.
Nobody really needs evaporative cooling to get -20C core temp
But now i just don't care.
Efficiency > shit temps
xD
One thing i haven't done though is custom loops which i will eventually.
By that logic, 90C is good as long as it's efficient
But liquid cooling is efficient and gets you good temps
Air cooling requires faffing around and making sure airflow is perfect
Fuck efficiency! I want my PC to be absolutely ridiculous!
xD
I grown out of it.

I mean, i also have all air going right of my window if that counts as making an effort.
I do my cable tidying, make sure my temps aren't to high in the case and have my liquid cooler
I still take care
But i just don't go extreme anymore
I have a 350D
i also hate RGB
And lights in general... all are disabled
I use RGB if the thing I own happens to have it, but I won't go out of my way to get it.
My keyboard has a neat effect where the keys light up in an outward pulse, and that's enough for me
Mine's at 10%
Wooting and Corsair RGB aren't good at pink
No offense
And white is kinda purple-ish
But the yellow is HELLA nice
True. There's only so much you can do haha
I am a corsair fanboy
I mean, I'll buy cheaper alternatives if they're available and work better, but I will almost always gravitate toward Corsair
@gentle dragon Same here, i love corsair
But i mean
Mech wise not so much
my first mech was one of theirs tbh
I go out of my way to remove leds, so damn annoying
Btw, which one is more efficient air cooling vs liquid?
Isn't liquid cooling using more power?
Looking at power consumption, yes
But for gaming, it actually uses less power than air cooling methods
for what reason?
The CPU is kept cooler for much longer when using a two or three-slot radiator, and the fans don't have to spin as fast to keep the heat down
I THINK the pump also uses less power than a fan when talking about a pre-assembled loop like the Corsair one I have, but for custom loops that include the CPU and RAM, and sometimes other components too, it's about the same as air cooling, maybe more
Looking at how much lower the temps get though, it's worth it. Hotter components die faster, so liquid cooling is actually better in the long-run.
Nothing can stop your PC from heating your room though, no matter which one you use haha
Cooler components also use less electricity
Thanks for the info, had to go shop, back now
I'm in the planning stages for my next PC. My current one is from 2011
I've always been running air cooling but really would like to tinker with something new, and efficiency is the goal
I'm using the Corsair H55
Yeah it's hard to beat the big coolers like Noctua's DH15
More water, more better π
Air cooling does still have diminishing returns
Liquid cooling does too, but the rate isn't quite as fast
Liquids are better for heat transfer than air as well due to the much larger temperature difference between it and the cpu
If you're overclocking at that level, you might as well go custom.
AIOs are a pain longterm.
I don't overclock, but I do game for long periods of time. A simple prebuilt is enough for me
Prebuilts have gotten a LOT better in recent years, save for a few brands.
They've finally started using standard motherboards and PSUs for the most part.
The only problem I have with liquid cooling is the radiators
Soooo hard to clean without a shop vac
Compressed air - And those rads aren't any different from an air cooled prebuilt... just saying π
They're at least easier to clean, just harder to get at
I have to take the radiator fans off first on the prebuilt
Pop front off, dust off front dust mesh,. Blow a bit inside of case with some compressed air. Pesto.
I tend to let mine accumulate too much
My radiator is black
When I opened the case to clean it the other day, it was white
There was a LOT of dust in there
Sounds like you need better dust filters π
I have none lol
Well there's your problem π
Hahah perhaps
I'll definitely add one soon though
I need a fan strong enough to pull air through a relatively thick filter
Which is where the 218 cfm one comes in
I hear one of them overpowers 4 or 5 normal fans
I've got 99Β½ problems, but fans ain't it. Got 5 casefans π
You have your radiator at the front?
Front and top.
Thick 280mm radiator and a thin 360 to keep my 1700 and 1080 cool without too much fan noise. π
I should have it at the top because the video cards are currently below it, but I'm not concerned with optimizing air flow and thermals
I have a 1740 and a 1050Ti
It's a low profile nvidia though, so it gives off a bit of heat..
Not helping the radiator above, but I don't care much
#unpopular opinion: set fans to medium and put the computer under the desk in a corner
I have my tower under my desk
Rude
90% of the time shit temps with no OC just means you need to clean it
It's a cheap L desk with metal legs
My temps are normally around 30C idle
50 under load
ok so where's the problem?
who are we on about here
LOL i thought you were air cooled @gentle dragon
i just assumed 50 under load was just not at max
That's normal load; like after 4 hours of siege
50 to 60
I'm hoping to get 40-50 with the new fan, but that's pretty optimistic
I really don't
Nobody needs a fan that moves 102 liters of air per second
But it's gonna be fun having it hehe
then save the money on the fan and buy several cans of compressed air (all the ones i ever got was explosive btw, since butane at a canning plant can end up cheaper than compressing and demoisturising air)
Fuck you I'm buying the case fan anyway lmao
well buy some compresed air as well
Vacuum does fine for me
5ghz
It's a beefy vac too
playing 2 games atm
Oof, kaby lake
i though you said you needed a shop vac, but ok
I feel your pain
No, I used a shop vac. Radiator's just tough to clean without one
30 idle
i use a 2000W non-paper filter home vac, works perfectly
50-60 load
The radiator is a single slot, not double
The video cards below aren't helping either
mine is a single radiator too
And I haven't lifted the heat spreader yet so I still have the shitty stock paste inside
Yours is a custom loop, right?
Oh, you know what it might be? I live by the sea. Very humid.
Hmm
ehem
Idk, humid heat always feels hotter than dry heat
what is the outside temparature?
im not using a custom loop
zxara: because you're not 60C under a heatspredder
if you were it would feel cooler
Ambient temp is disgusting. The room has no active conditioning, so it ranges between 21C and 26C
ok then, so assuming your desk is not open it's like 30C there?
(inside the case i mean)
The desk has no walls
on the intake
It's a corner desk that's basically wood on metal sticks
well take off your side panel and see what happens
No I'm in bed :(
But I'll try that later on, yeah
Idk if it'll help the cpu, but the video cards might benefit
Oh, maybe I need to reapply the thermal paste?
try the open air thing first
Doesn't a radiator use more power than air coolers though?
then you have the other stuff that uses power aswell on the liquid cooling setup
i don't think the pump would use up as much as a fan at all
Liquid cooling is a slightly colder air cooling system that can be placed away from the cpu
well the point is really that you can take the heat away better with moving water (liquid) instead of a heatpipe
except for simplicity there isnt a radiator inside the cooling plate (waterblock) :c
Maybe I have a shitty paste?
Aye so bassicaly liquid cooling: slightly increased power usage, but colder parts so less voltage needed + less electricity leakage so less power used per part.. But how much is the question I think
Enough that it's worth the extra cash
naga i have never checked, but i cant imagine the tiny pump would take more power than a fan
It's ancient π
nagga: the direct purpose is to reduce temps, if you're running 80C at your desired load and the fan is running 80% then you get water cooling
Depends on how long ago it was manufactured.
It's not unimportant with AIOs by any means.
Yeah, water cooling took my idle temp down 20 degrees, and my load temp down 15
Cooler components last longer, so there's a longevity to it too
The main pro of an AIO is moving the rad away from the CPU area, and these days having some RGB lights.
The cons include - Not being able to replace "just" the pump when that dies. Glycol escaping the loop, with no way to refill it and price.
i would say components under 65C last longer
Unless you're doing some heavy overclocks, the hardware will be long since outdated and replaced by the time they fizzle out.
but what if you want it last forever?
Ok, anything better than AIO? for efficiency? ^_^
so in 30 year you'd go, oh look my old ryzen
The most efficient is an air cooler - But they are bulky.
(Price performance ratio of course*)
Air cooling is cost-efficient, but they take a lot of space and don't cool as much.
If you want the strongest possible cooling, you're looking at 5-700β¬ worth of custom watercooling with monoblocks for both CPU and GPU.
naga: no overclocking is what you're looking for then
Well excluding price, the only benefit air cooling has over liquid is that air doesn't leak
Even then, leaks in liquid cooling is extremely rare
Wellllll...it does. But not in the same way π
Haha
air is full immersion cooling, it has no place to leak
Uhh... yes it does.
well, inside the heatpipes
And those will eventually lose their contents over time.
even an empty copper tube does work better than a solid one
Air is also less efficient at heat transfer than water is, and since the fins are inside the case, you need the cpu fan as well as the exhaust fans in order to get your efficiency from it. In LQ radiators, the cpu fan IS the exhaust fan, so it's blowing the heat right out of the case
Having a positive pressure inside helps with cooling as well. Air is under pressure and wants to get out to equalize with the outside air, so it moves faster, increasing the cooling for most components by a bit
At any rate - Air is the most idiotproof and cheap of the three, but also typically bulkiest.
AIOs are great... until they die - and then you need to throw the entire thing out.
Custom is expensive to get into, but lets you replace parts, instead of the entire thing.
and custom can leak easier
That mostly depends on your abilities as a builder π
If you build it wrong, yes
mansen: well it's his first time isnt it?
If you know what you're doing, you'll never get a leak.
Wrapping the joints in paper towels helps I've heard
regular check ups are still a good idea
Oh absolutely
It can happen. Hard to spot faulty orings. But that's why you run a 3-24hour test before turning on the PC.
Using hardtube is more risky than soft, since it doesn't fit as perfectly.
orings do get worn down though
Eeesh, hardtube is a nightmare
are there high pressure pump/reservoir systems yet?
so that it sucks the air inside, triggers an alarm
High pressure sounds like a bad idea for pc cooling
Eh?
stuff like that
If your pump sucks in air, you won't miss it. It makes a very noticeable sound π
I mean, assuming one of your orings has failed and your loop is no longer sealed, if there's sufficiently high vacuum, via a means of an ejector pump, you would not get a leak instantly, you would get additional air in your "deaeration reservoir"
Not quite - Water goes out, air comes in.
if you'd have an alarm that your vacuum is insufficient, then you'd know something is wrong
mansen: if there's sufficient vacuum, water doesnt go out
It's not really a vacuum persay
as in, not instantly
Water just flows
Zxara: but it could be
Air has mass and volume - It can't just enter a full loop, without something else leaving it π
mansen: that's why i said there should be a deaeration tank
I've seen open-air reservoirs. Completely negates the problem of air in the loop.
And introduces bacteria... π
there are chemicals for that
Granted, the reservoir is twice the size to prevent air from getting down into the pipes
Not to that extent.
Reservoirs are designed for one purpose - To keep the pump from eating air, and to let you replace air pockets that have moved to the res with more liquid (and of course to top it off over time, since liquid inevitably escapes)
Ah
just saying this would be possible
and i wondered if it's done already in computer cooling
Not needed tbh.
lots of things aren't needed and are just cool
The reservoir catches air before it gets fed through the pump
You basically need six things for an efficient loop.
A block
A radiator
A pump
A reservoir
A flow/temp gauge
Tubing*
RGB is for insecure peepo
Or for those of us who enjoy looking at our systems π
NAH YOU DON'T NEED TUBING
Just use magnets or telekenesis
Showy PCs need RGB
I don't even have a glass panel on my case so I don't need argie bee

Cheers, I'll prob go AIO for my first watercooling setup or look into some DIY setup. Custom watercooling doesn't sound fun π¦
ok, time to look at that midi thing
we have 87 keys (there are 88 keys on a piano, and that's more than you'd want via CCs AND 14 bit poly aftertouch is common which is good since wooting values are 8 bit, not 7)
and there can be 16 keys registered at the same time (there are 16 channels on a midi port)
and velocity might be a problem so the first thing you think you'd do is play an organ
let's just bind each key to a unique polyphonic aftertouch/pressure (each new key gets it's own channel)
and then just interpret those in some familiar means
well this was productive, stops looking at it
hm..
there is this odd lag on the example provided
better I do something natively
installing juce
I actually think this is what the Wooting devs should do, if Velocity becomes impossible to really manage, just make it constant and only have polyphonic pressure
or 'fake' it like the cheeper keyboards do
the maximum depth value in some initial moment shall be the velocity
Oh right MPE ( MIDI Polyphonic Expression) is now standard
"Wooting One qwerty keyboard adds to the list of MPE supporting devices"
that would be an interesting headline to read, considering there are less devices on that list than fingers on your hand
Tyuio, I know you like to overexplain things, but doing it in public is awkward to see and gives off some vibes you may not want people to associate with you.
@gentle dragon I firmly believe it might promote an interesting conversation in #tech-talk as MIDI is somewhere in the future of Wooting and would be a highly rippling device especially at this price point as well as arguably would be the one real area where 87 depth sensing keys with RGB would be of a direct practical benefit.
Head to #archived_feed_us_back and ask them what they can do about velocity. It sounds like they can do it with their existing tech, and it would be fantastic for musicians
I have
Did they say anything about it?
there's a prototype that sort of works if i recal but it's a problem
Oh hey, Fleimi!
The laser can be used to calculate distance over time without much extra effort, or am I mistaken?
Like, 15% pressed for a ms, 50% the next
And calculate velocity based on tge distance between the distances; the laser already does that, so it's entirely plausible
zx: the problem is if all that can be done on the firmware level
because if that is done via usb you might run into consistency problems at a usual usb speed
or so my other similar device and device manufacturer convinced me
All that said, velocity does too often actually denote pressure in virtual instruments
so it would be velocity-to max input value
I mean midi pressure
so pretty much exactly what the wooting outputs
pressure doesn't mean actual pressure, the name is only what it's suppose to mean in a real life musical instrument
in midi reality it's how far you've pushed
I call the wooting sensory stuff pressure because it's easy
It's actually pretty accurate for such a small device
some keys on random are not though
i think i had 2
different maximum
i had this silly idea of making a rhymth game to calibrate the keys
The user follows a beat by bottoming out a key. That gives us a time frame from actuation to bottoming out. As we know the distance it can travel, maybe it would be possible to figure out a compensation curve for the movement
i think with a lot of averaging it might work
There would be too much inconsistency
nono that's silly, just use a microphone
and hit they keys loudly but dont break the keyboard
or...
bottom out to release
@latent mural If you can figure it out, more than welcome to share thoughts. Calibrating is a tough cookie to crack, and we're mostly focused on stabilizing as much as possible.
It seems i will be extra busy this week and the next one.
So let me just elaborate how a mic can be used.
A mic, coupled to the keyboard by the means of direct contact anywhere on the keyboard, picks up the transient (peak) from a key being struck at the top and bottom position. Consistent automated transient detection in near silence is easy.
The resolution of the recorded result is well under 1ms.
Since we have a precise timestamp from the actuation point to bottoming out with all the input values recorded in between , we can form a per-key, driver controlled compensation curve.
This assumes:
ΓThe keyboard can output sufficient data in that small timeframe (as the user needs to be fast enough as the pressing speed must be sufficiently linear, giving good data after averaging out multiple attempts);
Γ The need for calibration comes from irregularities in the optics (which i think i read the devs say) and the maximum travel being slightly less on some random problematic key.
What surprises me more is the lack of an SSL on BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43719784
@latent mural piezoelectric sensor. Mission accomplished.
this is kinda ironic af

@gentle dragon As in?
It's better than a microphone
Sends a current based on how hard the key impacts it
And doesn't get muddled up by keys next to it like a mic would
well
Wooting one is already released! /o\
also, i'm talking about calibration possibilities
@gentle dragon
If you have a expensive calibrated piezo-spring system in the keyboard, then there's no point in the optical sensor
Win 10 RedStone4 aka Spring Update is on hold, if anyone was wondering.
Thank god.
It does have some neat functinality though, you can set the sound output and input per each running program
Not mine, I screenshotted Battle(non)sense.
Wow that is really good
That's neat - But I'm still worried they'll fuck up more stuff. HDR still doesn't work consistently.
And I had to perform black magic to get my Windows Store to install Sea of thieves not long ago.
That covers most of em, I think
I don't care about what they're telling us - I care about all of the "subtle" changes they aren't π
Thats why I said most of em, I know that there are some changes they wont alert about

Most likely there is more attempts to re-enable auto updates and other shit.
Windows Update will now place an update icon in the System Tray when there is an update pending. Yeeeaaaah ...
Btw, HomeGroup will be removed in RS4
Finally.
Some Bluetooth peripherals can now be paired with one click., I'm guessing audio devices n stuff.
Windows Defender Application Guard features new changes such as performance improvements, and the ability to download files to the host., Ugh-oh
Instant disable for me.
Truly
tbh, Windows Defender should be the only program that should make do without having to download files :/
But hey, HEIF file format is now supported
Pffft... PNG or RAW. Jpeg is for web.
Webp and Webm π
9gag uses webm and webp π
No one uses 9gag π
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Imgur. They all use jpeg and webm.
Damn, didn't know my name No one π€
π
There
Twitter is a bit strange, tbh
If you attempt to download a picture from it, it will come as jpg_large
Like, I dont get it ... why even add that part if it doesnt even make a difference ...
Ah, I c
On the other hand, it was the same service that you could make a self retweeting tweet, so I dont expect much from it.
The sad thing about webp is that I dont have any paint software that natively support it
Paint.net doesnt work for me, and I dont have a subscription to adobe
I could download gimp
I'll give it a shot when I get to my pc.
Was thinking about that calibration idea and surely the right method would be storing the full sensor data during calibration input on the keyboard then sending it in post to usb. So what we need is any mic the user has combined with the direct, high time resolution output from the keyboard, there should not be any problems then.

* Addresses an issue that, in some instances, prevents Internet Explorer from identifying custom controls.
* Security updates to Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft scripting engine, Windows kernel, Microsoft graphics component, Windows Server, Windows cryptography, and Windows datacenter networking.
No wonder they didn't ship it.
I am 100% sure all Wooting owners have a mic. But yes, for future you might have ti calibrate in house with something fancier and have it downloadable via serial number. But i understand the goal is for the Wooting to have everything it needs onboard the firmware, the limited hardware is the issue?
You'd be surprised.
A mic isn't just a mic either. You'll need a certain level of noise reduction and gating to get a decent sound for calibration.
Onedrive for Samsung phones? π
Looks like it does live syncing with the cloud, to allow you to recover a phone without your own backup.
Kind of like iPhone backups with iTunes, except over wifi automatically.
Idk what to do
I feel so crippled
I getting g up to 80 ping on eu servers
My latency is awful
Quick question for you all: 34" 1080p ultrawide. Yay or nay? Will I survive the lower PPI? There's no way I'll afford a 1440p one, next option would 29" (I really want an ultrawide :D)
@latent mural Were only detecting the much louder transients, there's no need for noise reduction and gates, the mic is in physical contact with the keyboard
a lot of those cheep mics will probably clip on the transient anyway
@latent mural Neigh

Is that how it works there? In the states I'm pretty sure they say that they have the right to say you did it because you're hiding something essentially.
I'm not trying to correct at all.
that's just better
SADLY
Something something 5th amendment
Wait for the reviews.
Always wait for reviews.
It's a refresh, not a new architecture. People are expecting a lot from something that realistically isn't going to happen - I predict 4.1 - 4.2 on most chips at most.
That's not on all cores.
These aren't 4 core intels, but 6-8 core AMD chips.
A lot more heat
What reviews? There's an embargo till the 19th. π
I can't read half of that, much less voltages, cores and so on and so forth π
And it looks like they only did short bursts of Cinebench. That's ... very light in terms of checking for a stable OC π
I'm not saying they aren't right - I'm just saying. Be paranoid till the release date, where everyone gets to share. They may have gotten a golden chip that does speeds that only 1-5% of them do. Always a gamble.
Happened with Coffee Lake.
Then you can't go wrong even with Ryzen 2 π
Though I'd go for a 6 core instead of the 8 core ones, if gaming is all you do. Or the 8350K if you don't mind overclocking. Beast of a CPU for gaming.
for all those who don't know about this app for internal audio routing check it, love it cause the core of it is free: https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm

what is in the cartboard box π
Hmm?
@sinful grove It's great software, especially considering it's free. Still a bit hard to wrap you head around and setup. Only thing I didn't like in the end is that there's audio delay and the program crashed a couple times on me.
The Audio delay is not a big deal unless you're playing games and you receive certain key audio signals at a significant enough delay. Wasn't able to setup direct audio from PC outside of banana, while a second PC sound route runs into banana that I can't hear but can control all the audio going out from. Using just the latter for the stream and the first for myself.
That's the box for the Chopin case I've shown a few times. Tiny PC π
"Find your perfect switch"
Not on this board tho
Heh
Deathadder elite feels very strange coming from a 2013 edition. A bit heavier, a bit taller and the switches under the mouse buttons are a bit inconsistent
Like i'll hear them click but there won't be any input
i was to lazy to find a gif tbh
just type /tenor shame and enter
Ah fair enough
i have a mouse and keyboard from weirdly unknown companies with minimalstic designs
i like it
i has a corsair tank
which mouse do you have @pale sigil ?
Corsair Glaive
that looks quite nice
Well
mine doesn't look like that as there are multiple parts to it
i use the smaller one
changable
i am still doubting between the corsair scimitar pro or the roccat nyth
but i cant find either of them in the local stores to try them out with how they feel in my hand
Well
It works out better tbh
after getting used to it
nor did i
and it put me off
but once you get used to it
it just works
so well
its not unnecessary you're just a fussy pleb
i thought i was bad
you can press the button from different angles
it just works out better
tho i wont deny these grips at the top
make 0 sense
where are the wooting giveaways
in my bedroom

they are all mine
how many side buttons do you have @pale sigil
2
awww, not enough π
i was thinking you could like push up for one button and down on them for another button
nope
Odd... I haven't been able to upload pics to Discord for days.

I've been through all the phases but itx and custom loops
The vive Pro makes no sense
They tried the oculus approach of having headphones on it but the vive ones are stupid and got some reason they remove one of the biggest perks of the vive
Which is the audio jack
a controlled set of headphones can make the spatial audio more immersive
can
you can have precise control of the frequency response
can

thats because it will never lift off
I would (if I had the money) buy it
Water cooling is nice. I just tried it, put my computer in the bathtub. Right now I can't boot it up, but it remains cool.

I am a Intel sucker threw and threw butttttts: https://www.pcgamer.com/amds-second-gen-ryzen-cpus-are-topping-58ghz-when-overclocked/
On LN2***
Are those the official prices they will have? If so, that's some aggressive pricing, I do wonder how Intel will respond to that.
199$ for 6C/12T at 3.9GHz/3.4GHz is pretty good, I know we have yet to see the performance, but it shows a lot of promise.

Dope video
Bit too dramatic for the full 3 minutes though lol
Would've loved to see more in depth about the process
IFTTT have a Trello section, perhaps that would be something interesting π€
I'mma give it a shot and see what I can do, I think it might be something useful.
If you guys still use Trello for tracking bugs, that might be something worth. π
#Jira
Ouch!
I mean, it would be effective to get new bug reports straight to discord, the downside being it only updates every hour or so.
It doesn't require any credentials at all, I could do it with an webhook url without letting it have any access to make changes. π€·
But if they are not interested, then that's that
ik they just dont want that sort of stuff on the discord
Like i said
i did it and offered
few months ago
Well, the knowledge on formatting webhooks json is good though
I have 20+ webhooks on my private server xD
XD
Ouch!
I wouldn't mind a crypto hook on a server i'm in actually
i have had to use my old router as a bug on my current one (superhub3) is the cause for huge spikes
damn im still busy all the time
I should put the .asar and hidapi files on the phone, look at it during my breaks π¦
at least the .asar maybe, figure out how the wootility sends the rgb
(that's a vague hint that someone could tell me where to look)
Best monitor money can offer, from a knockoff company π
We actually use it for sending trello updates to our slack @glad scroll
I always get major formatting issues though lol
Had a look at the specs on that monitor, was dissapointed to see TN
It was cheap. And it has 75hz and freesync. And most importantly it has all of the ports I need for a workshop monitor. and - no - "#Β€"#Β€ 4K
@fervent plaza
I tried to add a role with it, so that it could ping it everytime it sent, but somehow discord is identifying it as "deleted-role".
EDIT: finding the right id was different than how I thought, but it now tags correctly.
Fair enough. I personally value picture quality in terms of contrast and colour reproduction at the cost of responsiveness. Got an IPS panel for a wee bit more than that one sells for here and overclocked it to 75Hz. No freesync but i've never had it so i can't miss it
Also a wee bit smaller but i sit close enough that it doesnt matter much to me
Webhooks? I have a webhook that's sending live chat log from public server running my TrackMania game modes for demo users
I gotta expand this to actions like map change and so on
^_^
What would you guys say is a decent temp for HDDs and SSDs

Are you having heat problems with it?
its like 28c in my room
summer be getting me good
im ocing too
guess i should consider 4.8 instead of 5
Those temps are perfectly normal.
If it gets above 40, I would say its worth looking into.
The SSD should be fine aswell, since it doesnt have any moving parts, its should be more resistant to the heat expansion.
Neat. Still waiting for the Kira KS to end.
The spacebar + wasd set looks cool with the branch kinda continuing
there are different typs
types
only issue is that its to big
π¦
Wait no its not
idk what i want
White & Plum Blossom or Wind (White) & Cherry Blossom
i only want the spacebar
yanno
it would be cheaper to make my own actually
$4.75 delivery cost puts me off
Anybody have experience with the Silverstone RVZ02 case? It has me curious
Ooh those keycaps look nice
how to I access the beta so I can see the cool rbg effects
@high thorn hey its in the current live version of wootility
thanks you so much. I am getting my keyboard soon and CANNOT WAIT
@pale sigil
@glad scroll reddit webhook a thing?
I'll see if I can tap onto it.
Can I delete a post if I make one? @pale sigil
Yeah, since I dont have my own subreddit to test it.
go for it
Reddit has a 10 min cooldown between posts, well thats gonna be some long testing.
check mail
I have two reddit accounts, due to the amount of permission ifttt required.
alright
Got it
I managed to post, so I'm guessing it worked
good
Strange, it doesn't run at all
rekt
If it would run, but failed to format it to discord, ifttt would still mark it
meh oh well
D:
thanks for trying
I'mma give it one last attempt and see if there was a hiccup when connecting the reddit service all together.
Yeah, the reddit module seems to be a dead ship.
Those are the triggers avaliable
The best would be the any post in subreddit.
there is a way to do it
Since it would post all new posts made
via rss
Yeah, i was thinking that
It wont provide as much info, but its doable.
I have done RSS webhooks before, so I know that shit works.
I understand that, I'm looking through the rss to see what info will be retrieveable without it posting straight html code.
The rss module might not be up to date enough to work with reddit
its most likely why both of them are failing.
I read another reddit about it, and it seems that it might not be as quick as the other services.
I dont mean hours in waiting, but up to 2 min delay.
Zapier might also work, in my experience it works better than iffftttttt
Whooo! SNES case for my Pi is on its way π
@fervent plaza True, but the downside is that it only allows for 100 tasks/month. :/
on the free plan, that is.
and you can only have 5 active webhooks
I checked the activity and it returned some 400 errors, which means there is still hope!
Not exactly proud of the 400 errors ... but
I'm always scared when I run something and get no output logs
@pale sigil Oh boy oh boy oh boy!
I changed it to r/funny cause I was lazy and didnt wanna post and let em be.
But it shows that it works atleast.
http://ktla.com/2018/04/19/biggest-collection-of-computer-keyboards/
@fervent plaza Keyboards on the news - He's also showing the only Kira in existence π
woot woot

It's funny how they didn't even touch on the Kira
They probably didn't know they had a $300k kickstarter keyboard right there lol
Apperently the reddit module is just a bit slow.
but it works.
I thought the "check now" button really meant that it checked when I pressed it, but that wasnt the case π€·
xd
But anyway, its a relief that it works, I'mma just try a better body than sending the url.
I can just give you webhook
Yeah, the url.
I'mma just check that the new body works, then I'll switch to wootingkb and change url.
to build off that voicemeeter app in ealier post, here is an app based audio routing program, however resorts back to system default once closed: https://github.com/audiorouterdev/audio-router
@sinful grove That's a feature in Redstone 4
oh really
Yeah, you will be able to choose what default audio input and output device each program will use.

Voicemeter is still useful though, after the update.
thanks @glad scroll
np, sadly they have yet to release the update xD
You can get it via Windows Insider if you wanna try it out, but there is most likely a good reason they postponed it xD
yeah i am signed up for glitchsider, but not sure if u i have that update
Build 17133 progressed through the rings, we discovered some reliability issues we wanted to fix. In certain cases, these reliability issues could have led to a higher percentage of (BSOD) on PCs for example.
Official word on the delay.
No need to worry, they still address it as "2018 April Update" so the will proably push the update to the faster rings anytime soon.
Microsoft is really good when it comes to patching bugs and stuff. They sent out a patch that sealed wannacry long before it was made public.
Alright, i'm reading something from the wooting... except it's xinput
sucks trying to remember basic programming after 10 years of just scripting adons, especially you weren't very good to begin with
wrong interface.. how do i specify
omg ogm am i finally reading it
Well now, that was far far simpler than the mess i made out of hidapi, but look at all that nice stuff i learned about HID, time to take another 3 hour break
RGB control library would be great
I have plans on making a program that heatmaps least used keys of the board
The brighter the key, the least used it was
make it blue(white) to red
red having much more use
but it's almost may, isnt it?
so open source wootility is.. around the corner
Holy
look at the details on that cap.
give me my analog fidgetspinner
