Hmm. For a hard reset like that, my first instinct would still be hardware. Would try stressing CPU/GPU simultaneously for 10-20min (PSU stability) and maybe run memtest86 for ~25min, just to rule out something endemic to the system.

It does look pretty good but I guess that isn't too surprising since it was remastered in 2014 and we've had relatively diminishing returns since then. I hope they don't mess with stuff like they've done for Reach and Combat Evolved, though. As much as I hate the battle pass format I can enjoy Reach without the old progression system, but their messing with the playlists just makes no sense. Just add the playlists as they were back in the day and maybe a few extra, no need to goof with them.

I'm a Halo purist so I didn't really get down on Reach like that back in the day, but when you saw somebody with Inclement Weather you knew they were about that life. Same with Halo 3 which I fear they're going to ruin with the same progression system.

And only using like 1/4 of the maps.
