Modern gpu's are the biggest factor. Generally gaming systems only need one so having a formfactor that allows for tower coolers on them would help

there is a standard that reduces the voltages of the psu so the motherboard takes care of the minor voltages

I personally mostly build micro atx systems but then again appart from my personal rig and some for family members I only build the pc's we use at work

at work we basically used ivy bridge - haswell i3's - fx6300's (a mistake) - skylake pentiums - and the few more recent builds 2200g, 2400g, 3200g.
most systems needed at least 3 monitors so there are some cheap graphics cards used as well like the gt710.

the spec I had to follow was cheaper is better, faster is better

the rest /care

and of course supporting at least 3 monitors, for some at least 4 for me at least 5

nuc like rigs are nice though if you don't need a lot of display out and can tank the bit higher price

what surprices me most about what I build is that almost all systems still work. Even the ones using 35 euro psu's and 40 euro or less motherboards

granted I didn't go full garbage on them as they are still be quiet units

the motherboards on the fx cpus where problematic, I had to peel off some dust filtration and turn of fan control to prevent the motherboards from overheating in the summer

I never went that route fearing to be forever tech support

so basically you build on commission?

I never really build pretty, mostly because I either build for work or familly - closed sidepanel or for myself where I just upgrade part for part so not much fitting togetther visually.

I remember being a mod on a server that basically had a big pre-limited kingdom where players could build their own cities by claiming chunks, and then they were leased out later on.

I love walking around in the streets looking at people's houses. I had designed chunk wide roads with sewers below, so people could design whatever.

Performance is often not just a matter of a programmer coding something badly but rather a lack of QA during the process. if an artist plants to manny assets or to heavy assets in a scene there needs to be something done about that. If a programmer creates a big regression it needs to be called out and so on.
If that process fails performance will generally fail.
This is pretty much the same as failing cloud saves something a good QA deperatment should have found.

This does not mean their QA is nessesarily bad, it may also be the process of getting things that are found fixed.

it beats the rtx 2070 and is almost equal to the 2070 super

depending on the game it even beats the 2070 super

we're talking 350€ for a 5700XT (MSI evoke rev 2) vs 535€ for the cheapest 2070 Super (KFA2)

RDNA2 isn't gonna magically lower costs of the 5700 XT that much

RDNA2 will have higher costs
