if the game/MTX are designed in such a way to promote heavy use of MTX such that the game is less fun without it... then fuck that, yeah, it sucks
but if the MTX is cosmetics and stuff that is 100% optional and doesn't do anything other than make someone happier/cooler/whatever (not to be conflated with making the game easier/more fun)
then i'm OK with that.
because even though EA/Activision/whoever gets a cut... i'd rather they know that i support them so they can make more games like that one (or in the case of live service, keep doing what they are doing)
and y'know, people get to keep their jobs
i think that's the thing some of you might be misunderstanding... just because a game sells well initially doesn't necessarily mean that they are just going to float those employees until something else comes along. as a business they need a reason to keep those people around... otherwise they become a welfare organization

rockstar is a semi-special case, but they have shark cards so i'd call that a wash
