I like 76 but its not flawless by a long shot. I just treat it like a beta game.. they just released their roadmap for the next half year or so which is nice. A lot of good changes coming.
EA wants their games out before the end of the fiscal year so it looks like they made more money even if it means making a worse game. I heard they will give the developers a bonus if they release them before that which means a developer under EA will get punished if they don't have it ready so they end up cutting corners.
Nintendo will get all my praise when it comes to trying to keep the quality of games at release high even in this modern world where you can patch games later.

Bethesda isn't a perfect company but I have no doubt their developers give a damn. Whoever at zenimax or bethesdas marketing team keeps making decisions need to take a break though.

I played 76 again a few days ago after not playing for a month and they fixed the lever action rifle. That was a big thing for me ha.. That rifle had a bug that was also present in fallout 4. And now its just really fun to use.
Before the fix no matter how many shots you used you had to reload the maximum number of bullets. Now you just refill it and you can start shooting at any point during the reload and cancel it. So if you are out and need a quick shot you can just load one bullet and fire.

Just odd that even though modders fixed it for 4 ages ago they just ported it straight to 76.

you used to be able to run a server on 256MB RAM for vanilla quite easily for yourself and a few friends
now it'll barely manage to launch at 512MB and then out of memories trying to save
and for me and just one friend I ended up having to put the memory up to about 2 or 3GB just so it wouldn't keep crashing due to no memory

Just tried for fun to see if I could use the keyboard with fallout 76. Nope, because some genius decided that if you have anything remotely similar to a controller plugged in you can't use anything but that.. cmon bethesda.
I disabled the controller option in the games config files to get it to work. Just kinda annoying that they do that. Guess I will have to be a bit smarter about it if I want it to work.

it has so much potential too. I have the dlc, and it is ok, but prob not for full price. Engineering is pretty useful, landing on rocky/icy planets and driving the srv is enjoyable (wish you could land on atmospheric planets tho) and guardian modules, not much useful but can be a little fun to get at first. The problem is, the game can get grindy quite quickly, but if you don't try to rush it, you would have a great experience.

Question for people using DS4Windows (using a Dualshock 4) or similar stuff: can you change the controller order or preference somehow? I use the controller with Yakuza Kiwami and I lost all rumble because of this. I think it happens because DS4Windows starts after the Wooting, and not before.
I tried to change the "preferred device" in the Windows settings, buit it didn't apply correctly. Maybe it's a more generic "how to change xinput order" question. I didn't try reconnecting the keyboard, though.

You basically unbind keys like WASD from digital, so they only register as controller analog input. 😃
Plus side - Only controller input.
Downside - Can't type unless you swap to Digital mode and back quickly.

I have the stuttering too, in the Tutorial you can See that when you Walk Forward strafe sideways and Turn the Mouse at the Same Time , its stuttering, probably because the game switches between xinput and Mouse a few times per second. Digital Keys on. Analog Walking works anyway

I don't need or want my gaming purchase platform to have social functions. I also don't go looking for a chat room when purchasing computer parts or groceries, and god knows how toxic and pointless Steam forums have been and are.

Game reviews? While nice to have, I can easily google and access all of those elsewhere. It is a non issue for me, and given how most games are sold by word of mouth, not targeted marketing campaigns.

Mods? Yeah because the Steam workshop is SUCH a great example of how NOW to handle mods. The entire ecosystem breaks apart if you go offline, or if a patch comes out for a game.
