I did one region and only small bits of the others. The characters were annoying and the gameplay was the most repetitive I remember in a FC game. My other issues with it, which most games seem to have now, is that harder difficulties turn enemies into aimbots basically and the co-op was dogshit. They should have just made it single player since you had to play SP anyway to unlock the gun slots for your character if you weren't host.

so no new competitor could reasonably pop up
Now that EPIC games, a company with 3 billion dollars in PROFIT (not revenue, PROFIT) came up and made a store they can financially support the developers and intice them to come over with the guarantee that they won't get shafted by the lack of customers

Like, I'm totally with on this. EPIC and the Metro publisher were dicks to take Metro off steam completely have this exclusivity thing. It was a smart financial move, but still a dick move. Luckily I pre-purchased my copy of Metro on steam before they pulled it so I'm still good. And Metro will come back to steam in a year or so

Bethesda have said they are using that engine for the foreseeable future. Including their new game Starfield and TES VI after that.
By the time TES VI comes out, it will have been over a decade since the last TES game.

My take - They can't keep milking the Skyrim and Fallout cows. And CDPR is showing them up every time they release a new game.
They're going to have to rethink and adapt, or they will eventually be left behind.

So, the engine is a complex thing. Just like Unreal Engine, it's been around for a while and undergone a lot of changes. The problem with Bethesda's engine is that it's really mod-able. But if they fundamentally change the engine they risk losing that mod-friendly-ness which is what keeps most of their games alive. And if they develop an engine from the ground up from scratch that would set them back hundreds of millions of dollars, it's like developing a full game but without a game to sell when your done. Needless to say it's a complex issue and there isn't an easy solution.
I totally agree that the engine is dated (or at least parts of it are). But a lot of the issues that happen in their games can and should've been fixed in development. That's why so many mods are "Unifacial Patches" or "bug fixes". With all the community fixes, their games become playable and much less buggy. I personally think they need a better QA process than a whole new engine.

You put a pair of sunglasses on a single eye (don't have to be that dark and i have this odd delusion polarised work better)
And the brain will be interpreting the same 2d image slower on the darker eye
So when the image will be in motion your brain will fill in the gaps and the picture will look 3d
not like true geometry 3d, but it wont look flat either
If you get the field of view just right it really works

Man the lack of wall run is very disturbing.
The pinging is the thing I'm the most impressed by in Apex. The iconic parkour is what I'm most disappointed by. Sliding and ledge grabbing is about as fancy as it gets.
