on BDO there are servers that run pretty clever bots that keep track of boss statuses, hp, timers etc
these bots are unfortunately people-powered
on some servers, people get lazy as fuck and don't update
on @bleak pike 's server, the admins of the Discord server that run the bot disabled access to the bot because the situation with updates had gotten so bad
only on a temporary basis, for a day
to show people what they're missing by taking advantage and leeching rather than helping update
in doing so, the admins accidentally breached into a salt mine

Ok so for example... imagine a McCree bot shoots everyone on the server... straight up if 1 person did that on 4 servers it could shoot all at once on 4 servers howerver if you set it properly it can only read and execute commands on the server they were written on.

They have their kinda own version of the CryEngine that integrates a lot of cloud-oriented tech and stuff. But the base was the same. Then I guess they probably bought the stuffs for a certain amount.
Crytek could go bankrupt, that would and should not affect Lumberyard since it's property of Amazon and not Crytek. ๐

Also. Lumberyard's network system, if used could allow them to avoid re-writing full netcode.. Which is massive as well. And would allow for very good things. (a much better experience and framerate than currently for example, since of the big bottleneck here is caused by CryEngine's legacy code, you can feel it on server that are near empty and servers that are near-full.)
But well, if I say this kind of things, I may be said to be a freaking SC fanboy and get criticized for my enthusiasm at seeing a game that tries to push the boundaries of a gaming world that's stagnating and becoming really boring...
SC still has a very long way to go, but they'll eventually get there, not taking stupid shortcuts to please a crowd that can't understand anything to game dev because they only ever heard the crap of AAA marketing campains. ๐
Also, sorry for maybe being ranting a bit here. ๐
