#What are good ways of obtaining Ancient shards?

There's no great way to obtain them on demand. Better to put TDs on halt and do it over time. I'd prioritise zenytes and k'ril for early slayer
Wouldn’t kril come after tds tho?
Not necessarily, bc you don't need scobo for kril since bowfa is more than fine
I'd question putting demonics at a higher priority than tds - upgrading from dds to bclaws sounds like it'd do a lot more for slayer than upgrading from str/fury/glory to torture/anguish, even if you have the crafting level. The extra accuracy might be nice for ToA if you want to do that early but you really don't need to
Plus getting synapse early means you solve the ancient shard problem quicker
Also at OP, nechrayel, dust devils, dagannoth, and abyssal demons are ideal as barragable, steel dragons are nice as they're quick to get over with, and after that it gets a bit sticky.
Your options are iron dragons (steel dragons but there's more of them), hellhounds, greater demons, bloodvelds, and deviant sceptres. I'd probably just melee some of the middle ones for a while - they're all basically the same task, and none of them have good defense. Bloodvelds give a bit more loot than hellhounds/greaters IIRC
oh, and fire giants, but those are considerably worse and you can do royal titans instead without any real concerns whereas cerb/tds want synapses
Doing zaxe DGs was tolerable tbh, it's not that much worse than arclight with scuffed gear.
Ancient shards start to really pick up post-80 or 85 slayer
Zaxe TDs is also higher melee and slayer xp for the time you spend meleeing than most melee tasks thanks to the heavy positive xp multiplier, even with the negative damage multiplier
no, that's what I'm saying. I would probably do kril first
TDs can take millions of slayer xp
I probably should have done it that way. I put off TDs until I had a solid amount of ArcLight charges. Now I'm 87 slayer with 0kril KC and still working on a synapse
yeah thats the scenario that should be avoided imo. It's not terrible per se, but missing hasta and by extension probably ToA for that long is unpleasant
hasta is a lot of bang for your buck around 80 slayer
Would certainly make the random metal dragon tasks less annoying than bowfa shield flicking...
just go back in time and do infinite contracts to already have super antifire 🙂
This isnt a great method but it worked for me:
Killed hill giants for keys and shards, i think I did like 600kc and walked away with 7 shards and 10 obor keys
Yeah, you got spooned on both shards and obor keys. Not recommended.
Even if you are just doing 5 keys for the CAs, you get a worse rate than wildy hill giants
oh wow, yeah i guess I did lol
disclaimer: i think this post was wrong and tort is actually higher DPS for slayer specifically. this calc should be optimistic for claws as nechs are a low-defense (torture's less good) demon (burning claws are better), but it seems the dps gain from tort (0.141) is larger from the gain from bclaws over dds (0.06), unfortunately https://dps.osrs.wiki?id=UnicornsBraceletSplitbark
jagex needs to nerf stat sticks and buff cool items smh
though if fury doesn't lose a max hit versus str ammy the gains are 0.044 vs 0.051, so bclaws wins 😎 https://dps.osrs.wiki?id=TranquillityWitchGrab
So you’d suggest completing Zenytes first, then (or during) do Kril, and only then do TD’s?
yes
ye ive never been a big fan of giga rush fang for slayer. lb makes sense but doing it with that scuffed gear/stats has never been something i saw alot of promise in. elight is a significantly bigger upgrade then zenyte are for slayer. dont even use angiush or torm either for slayer really. and most of midgame is focused on training slayer
fang is goated for slayer
can skip all the mediocre melee tasks like gargoyles, and do only quick dragon tasks for points
So Noone other then iron bruh decided to answer the ops question I zee.
