If I bring an untradable item, like a Dragon Defender or an imbued Slayer Helm, into the Wilderness, and it’s one of my protected items, what exactly happens if I die beyond level 20 Wilderness? Will I keep the item and be able to use it immediately, or will it become unusable until I pay a fee to reclaim it? Or is there a risk of losing it entirely?

Okay that's what I assumed but I then I saw this on the wiki and I second guessed myself:

yes, below 20 some items have a fee to repair

So aslong as the death equipment screen says it's protected above 20 wildy I have no reason to worry
