What is the most efficient way to go about obtaining arrow shafts excluding the ranging guild?

Fwiw cutting your logs into shafts isn't bad
I've never touched the shop, and have 1m+ shafts in the bank from afk wc at the guild whenever I wanted to afk
It's not a good method for xp or anything but doing something afk is better than doing nothing at all

You can also do some interesting strats like multiskill cut while doing farm runs
With herb sack for first few patches until you clear inv of logs
I think Drogon or DKHo or someone talked about this method

sep 75-82 u can do ~500k from maple logs
after that can continue doing at sep or buy at ranging guild and then attach more feathers at sep
during herb runs u can also do as you described but i pref attaching feathers during herb/tree runs

yea it took a lot longer to do the remaining ~650k (finished around lv94) so at that point its probably worth to buy and then attach feathers during that time instead because youre banking much less frequently so you get more value during that time attaching feathers vs cutting logs

Cutting logs during alted zmi is decent too, similar to glassblowing but more chill as you don't need to drop anything
