Currently 92 slayer, 85 att/def 98 strength 95 ranged, and recently got a hasta, but no fang. Is it worth waiting until getting a fang and just doing slayer as usual with them locked? My only ranged weapons at the moment are rune cbow (since bowfa is 2h I assume you can't use there)

yeah def your call on whether you want faceguard sooner or later
since tasks could end up being rare for you it might be appealing to start getting kc up sooner than later
you can always just unlock and extend once you get fang to get it quicker though

hm I haven't heard of shield flicking them before, I assume then that bowfa flicking is more dps than hasta but just more intensity of course? And yeah I don't mind grinding TOA here and there, but I also wasn't sure if it was good to get faceguard for the fang grind or vice versa. But it sounds like I can unlock them
