#akkha - ironman gear?

Your going to have a real hard time at that high of a raid level and no stab weapon whatsoever
Yeah I guess Keris will be better than a whip but you'll have to check dps calc
this is what BRUH and I recommend for like 300s-350s if ur good
idt it's gonna be very pretty with gear worse than this
ofc some stuff doesn't matter at all, e.g. ancestral is whatever and mystics is sufficient
same for BCP vs torso
if you don't have fang yet then I'd run this instead:
if you don't even have hasta I'd really recommend not doing it yet
takes legit like 2 zammy tasks for a hasta unextended, super fast
btw im no longer a huge fan of death charge in that second setup, your spec weapon is arguably not good enough
torm also seems like a decent option for a switch to drop
b gloves camp is easy on switches and you dont mage a lot in the raid
yeah the example setups are a bit outdated, im still quite happy with them all things considered but there's a few things we might want to change
I've been considering full even switches with bgloves camp and tassets, I'm not sure how good it actually is but it makes things easier with all the defense you have for baba, kephri, and akkha
Need to do more testing at the end of the day, I haven't been potting much
I think the tassets are mostly bait but symmetrical switches can be neat. My hopes of symmetrical swaps are honestly not going to happen anyway since I want a helmet switch for bowfa and im not willing to run a farseer helmet
At least semi-symmetrical can happen with bin torm bring tassets
Camp bgloves that way
Only annoyance is helm then
But agree fk farseer
That's just a Zulrah meme if you're too lazy to do crystal takeoffs (required though because it's like -10 otherwise)
Yeah farseer def not happening, I thought tassets had merit if they let you do kephri with no range pray for agile scarabs but I think realistically you need blood barrage or blood fury for that
Oh then nvm
I personally like the setup in the pic because it's the exact same gear setup as CoX lol
So if you know how to gear-switch there then it's the same here
e.g. vangs vs akkha
Yeah I'm used to the cox self scout uneven switches, I think I'll keep the tassets banked
fwiw I ditched torm but am not on tassets
I've ditched torm too, tassets are just a pipe dream it seems
I run this minus death runes + 1 ppot
im on a setup with yellow partisan, it changes a lot
this is my current setup, ive been playing around with the three prepot slots
atm I have about 4 spare inv slots (the 7th ppot and the three prepot slots) for my 320s
sun
so instead im gonna increase RL to about 360
anyway didnt mean to hijack the thread, mb
Not a criticism or anything, but as someone that's trying to learn PvM, something I wish existed in the drive were like. Descriptions of the logic behind all the gear. The wiki is generally good for the basics and telling you why you'd carry things in a general sense, and some common sense & context clues help as well.
But I feel like I have so many questions when it comes to swaps and the more gear you add, the more I wonder why you use X, or use X over Y, and possible alternatives and all of that stuff
its a good point, for toa setups theres the pinned guide in #tombs-of-amascut but other than that your best bet is probably just asking around
for my exact example setup ive recorded and uploaded a (bad) 320RL run, showing stuff like my path order and stategies for each boss. its riddled with mistakes but might answer at least some of your questions, idk
for any other example setup there's no good source really
Definitely agree that explanations help. We do have the guide for ToA specifically but the rest is a bit harder to explain because it's the result of years of thinking about meta and arguing until ideas converged into commonly accepted patterns (re: the PVM progression chart)
Thanks for the call-out though, you are definitely right in that it's not at all obvious why some choices are made over the others if you are a newer player and may not understand subtle motivations
