I have a whole world with a prior world border that was set to 5000 blocks, and the previous people playing on it explored it all, but there's still stuff to do everything-wise past that points. There is a spawn town to check out, with various traders to trade millenaire deniers for various in-game goods. Start by talking to the Innkeeper at the Birch Root Inn and Bar located just south of the Spawn Pagoda.
