What i love about egghead is how oda flipped the script for STAKES, he gave the stakes to the gorosei , they were in a life or death scenario not Luffy they were in a timer they needed to stop certain things from happening not Luffy

I love how luffy dominated lucci where it used to be a life or death fight for him and I love that Zoro was also given a showcase against lucci to show just how much further ahead they are than before on the same type of enemy

Well, I mean. From a meta perspective Oda organically developed it to happen that way. The One Piece world evolved, in that instance, as a natural fallout from the events of Marineford. Plus, I think the One Piece world is actively evolving and without need for a time skip to continue evolving further.
