The problem is young basketball players don't look at college as something that can help them grow their game and learn to become basketball stars. They just look at college as a one-year pit stop where they can get some national TV exposure before heading to the NBA level.
And as a result, more times than not in today's NBA, it can take them up to 2 to 4 years before you can get a lot of impact out of these top picks.
