I still like some of the Supernatural episodes in the newest seasons and the characters are always fun to follow even after all these years. The problem, imho, is that each season is too long for the story it tells, so it becomes repetitive.

I'm really enjoying it so far. Rand's a very compelling protagonist to me, and it was super fun to see him finding out more about the world after leaving Elmon's Field in TEOTW. I enjoy all of the main characters as well, my favorite besides Rand probably being Perrin ||and his entire plotline with Elyas in the first book. For a solid while, that and Rand's travelling with Mat were what kept me hooked. I've seen a lot of complaints about the female characters in the series on boards discussing it, but I don't really have an issue with any of them. The Aes Sedai are secretive and manipulative, but they also have a massive burden on their shoulders, considering that Shai'tan is still lurking about. The concept of gender dynamics being flipped in their heads so-to-say at this point in this world's history because of the male Aes Sedai's fuck up was very interesting to me, and I'm curious to see how Rand's madness will develop, especially after the reveal about the Dragon Reborn.|| @copper phoenix

it's not confirmed yet, people are just speculating from the episode titles
but the first 3 books are some of the best in the series

Don't get me wrong, @fading cedar, I love KOTM as much as the next Godzilla fan, but I understand why people have issues with the plot. I don't think it's the most important aspect of that movie in particular, since the reason everyone is there is well, the monsters fighting, obviously, but stuff like ||the villain's motivations making no sense, the main characters being generic and unsympathetic with the exception of those who carried over from the previous movie, stuff like that mostly centered around characterization rather than the actual plot is clearly lacking.||
(I'm new to this server so I hope this way of st's where I only did the parts with actual plot details is fine)
Going a bit more indepth with my issues here; ||Stuff like the kid's mom big plan being essentially unleashing the Kaiju in the world so that they fix global warming and other environmental issues but then being too spooked when King Ghidorah compels the others to cause massive amounts of destruction instead. I understand that the big deal is that Ghidorah is specifically making them much more agressive and violence than they would be otherwise, but wouldn't the kill count still be in the millions regardless? The only reason 'co-existence' seems to work at the end of the movie, as far as I understood it, was becasue Godzilla showed up and whipped them all into shape, and I don't know if that would have happened in the first place if not for the Ghidorah conflict||
||So basically making this character who's responsible for what's potentially the biggest genocide in human history sympathetic and trying to give her a redemption arc by the end of the movie where she reunites with her family and sacrifices herself to stop Ghidorah and help Godzilla feels cheap and unimpactful. Don't get me wrong, as I said the final fight between them is awesome, but there's zero to none actual human connection to it for me because the circumstances behind it are so contrived. I feel like if they were going to do such a surface job on it they should have focused more on the monster fights, like in something like in GMK or final wars.||

Godzilla KotM ||The conflict there wasn't that Ghidorah made them more aggressive and violent, it was that he unleashed everyone at once. Their plan was to awaken the Kaiju one at a time for a slow trickle into things, in order to send humanity back to the dark ages in a big way and let the planet heal itself from their footprint, while being able to control them somewhat with their device. Ghidorah took that and instead unleashed every titan on Earth and had them obey him because he was the Alpha. But also, the whole point of Ghidorah being there and invalidating the otherwise arguably accurate plan is that Ghidorah was an invader, not a Titan/Kaiju himself. He was an alien terraforming and ruining their world even further, which was never their plan there. Ghidorah was a mistake to awaken because they had no idea who it was or what it could do, but the rest of the plan made sense in a sad way.||

Godzilla KOTM ||Fair enough, I haven't seen the movie since release so I guess a few details were blurry to me, but my point that even if their plan had worked perfectly it would still cause untold amounts of chaos and destruction still stands, I think. I suppose you could say that this is overthinking a godzilla plot where it's only supposed to serve as a backdrop when I say that just taking them back to the dark ages by itself would probably lead to a lot of people dying because of stuff like medical conditions, the general acclimization to technology we've had, environmental changes, etc, but that mostly plays into my argument that despite monsters having a lot of screentime in KOTM, I wish they had more, and that they hadn't tried to make the dad-dude and his family dynamic the emotional core of the film, because it was a really big miss to me||

Godzilla KotM ||Yeh, their whole plan was to cause that untold destruction and chaos. But, to use an analogy, they wanted a controlled burn but got Pompeii instead. They plan was to destroy human civilization and force humanity into smaller clusters that can live side by side with nature, Ghidorah was threatening to wipe out everything and reform the planet entirely to its liking, doing far more damage than humanity ever did. That's why the plan was a concern, that's also why the head terrorist ridicules Farmiga's character for being concerned, since she was complaining about it but as far as he was concerned the plan was still on track.||
