Idk about all that but it’s definitely a very clever show with its humor, dialogue, and ways it played with story structure, and was able to keep its major character arcs compelling and refreshing over the course of its entire run.

Rick and morty has a lot to say , it’s a commentary on people and culture. Characters do change. It’s clever and brilliantly executed. The parents split up and it impacts summer and morty for better or worse. Rick also despises jerry but grows a little more accustomed to him as we progress. Granted much less than what he does with Morty. Saying they they are equals is a massive stretch but morty has much more say in his adventures. As the episodes have gone by he decides more and Rick is more accepting and respects him more. That doesn’t mean he has stopped shitting on Morty, the show has its identity, it’s not going to do a 180 and make Rick into something he isn’t. He is a mean fucking grandpa, with a soft heart for his family. Going as far as sacrificing his own life multiple times and turning himself in to the || galactic federation || in order to protect his family.

I don’t see bojack doing Super Bowl commercials or making giant fast food chains resell their products. I don’t see bojack selling as much merchandise, making video games etc.. or have multiple headlines in the news. — but you meant something about the message of the show.

@dim hedge I finished, and while it was a cool video, I’m not any more compelled by wrestling than I was. His main point is illustrating that the line between reality and fiction is thinner than any other form of media; and while that might actually be true, it doesn’t really appeal to me regardless. That’s why I called it reality TV in the first place. If you compare the WWE to desperate housewives, many of the same conventions exist, just with the life of a rich person being the vehicle, rather than wrestling. DH has characters that change throughout seasons, story arcs that shift with time, and a fictional immersion that sometimes breaks when real emotions come out. I’ll watch the next video as well, but I just don’t think find it very interesting.
