Theres a interactive map you can check out after you finish it
That list locations time lines etc

1917 was a good movie, would recommend
is it a movie to watch in the theater, @scenic terrace ?
yeah
Does anyone know why they always do that drill in army movies, where they put the gun in front of them, then on their shoulder?
I figured this is a real drill but i want to know its purpose
I would assume discipline and muscle coordination?
I have no idea where full metal jacket is going
I knew ||Pyle would eventually snap, but i thought that was the focus of the movie, now hes dead, and i dont know whats going on||
Also im recongizing alot of jokes in this movie
Suck as this is my rifle this is my gun, or me so horny
Yeah the movies more about the reality of war than one single story
did you guys see disney's explanation for ||Palpatine returning|| rise of skywalker
post it?
so those ||hooded people who appeared for one scene are called the sith eternal and they worked for decades to revive palpatine through the power of THE OCCULT AND TECHNOLOGY. and they also built the hundreds of star destroyers||
this is literally all they said
the occult
and
technology
OH NO

this is how it actually happended
Has someone read Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson?
woah bro
you know this may be western series, but we only talk about cartoon network and marvel here
thats a joke you can discuss it here
but Ive never seen anyone discuss a book here
not feeling the second half of metal jacket
Its been consistently either star wars or marvel here yeah lol
Or comics which is better but i still dont know what the hell anyones talking about lmao
before that it was pastioloo talking about various tv shows
now its just shepherd talking about things
I’ve talked about other movies here
But yeah I guess is normal that comics are the topic

Only a few verses for a history course about The Ancient Near East - to scrutinize and identify either parallel or inconsitency
Like mesopotamia, babylon, sumerians, and etc.
caught up to The Blacklist, I like the new character, ||Agent Park||
Just started the final season of Mr. Robot
lol
Sometimes it is just me talking about comics
And sheperd

@wary ether books are not allowed here
It is
?ban jiren
Anyone seeing the new bad boys movie
Nah probably not
Unless it gets raving review
1917 and the gentleman is on my list
my friends say 1917 was really good
nice
my list
Best picture: Parasite
Best actor in leading role: Joaquin Phoenix
Best actor in support role: Al Pacino
Best Director: Quentin Tarantino (or Boong)
Best animated: Klaus
I saw 1917 and all the production was incredible
I didn’t care about the characters nor the story but everything else is really good
The first trailer for Morbius is here!
After you’ve taken your first bite, stick around for our exclusive interview with Jared Leto himself: https://t.co/729doNbEkE https://t.co/ZrNHLJRSvp
Ye I rmeber this it got leaked a few days or a week ago
Some scs did
Wonder if it takes place in same universe as Spider-Man or venom
Maybe not cause vulture is in it from homecoming
The actor for him
Ha. Y'all still go to the theatres
people are still casting jared leto in roles?
Might as well bring back Spacey and have Weinstein produce lol
Also, finally saw the new star wars. I've seen nicer tumours.
Why? Leto also caused any scandal?
I don’t think Leto had a scandal
What’s wrong with Leto?
I’m happy he’s back in a comic book movie I felt bad for him after the joker incident he got depressed from it
I do want to see Spacey acting again, actually. He's a great actor and I don't personally care about his private life or admire him as a person or anything. I just care about the acting part. (Of course, if there are still investigations/trials going on about him those should be concluded too. Is there any verdict at this point though? But maybe discussing this stuff here is OT...)
@neon coral haven’t heard anything regarding scandals and Leto
But then again I haven’t looked for it
People are under the impression Spacey is having people killed lol
Leto had a few things come up against him. But I just don't like him as a person, actor or artist.
Seems like he is
Several accusers of him have died
Also leto hasnt been accused of sexual assault or anything, but when filming suicude squad apparently he was fucked in the head
sending condoms and rats to people
the joker can do that to people
that’s actually a real warning about playing a joker char
The joker role basically killed ledger
Losing weight or some shit is different than doing what leto did
It can cause people to go insane
Phoenix said he was losing it while trying to play the char
Leto was just off
he tried to hard
Phoenix joker was really good
and psychopathy
Ledger got really invested in his joker role to the point where he basically killed himself
that's not necessarily true at all
people love saying that cause it sounds romantic but dude probably had some addiction issues :/
He did have some addiction
we have no idea of the circumstances of his death, besides that he died from cardiac arrest induced by drug use
to assume it was the movie is just, like I said, romanticizing his death
He wrote down what he had to do to get immersed in the joker persona
In his Diary
Their was a recent documentary about him where his family speaks out
To young to die
It goes into depth from his family’s standpoint
He would lock himself in rooms for months trying to prepare for the joker role
Click here to watch great FREE Movies & TV: http://filmrise.com
He only lived to be 28 years old. The news of Heath Ledger's death spread like wildfire. His death deeply touched all of Hollywood as well as fans around the world. The film traces Heath Ledger's evolution from ...
watch it for yourself
I did
basically every single point I'm listening to was he was overwhelmed with the fame, took pills to alleviate those feelings, and passed away from addiction
that’s true
I’m referring to the part when his dad is going thru his journal going over the things ledger did in getting prepared
like locking yourself in a room for a month is orettt crazy
And he wrote down every single detail to prepare
But ye I would blame it on stress
I watched the journal part, but I doubt that was the reason at all
especially how it's framed in the documentary
Apprenlty he studied hyenas to get the laugh right also
the director introduced it with the oscar, as if to say "this is how devoted he was"
but ye juba all those incidents could have been powered by drugs
but that's just method acting
on drugs
He could have been taking tons of adderall
and? it wouldn't be the fault of the movie specifically
it's just method acting
aka, the pressure of his life as an actor forced him to
It doesn’t have to be the movies fault but I think the character was defenilty a factor
rather than "the role he was playing was so crazy and psychological that he KILLED himself because of it!!!"
what leads us to believe that? we've seen dustin hoffman method act a fucking talkshow host with the same level of devotion
He died like 4 months after filming
romanticizing like this is disrespecting his death :/
And because of the things he did to prepare where not healthy
basically stress and drug addiction do not mix when prepping to method act for a psychotic character
can we just agree on that
Phoenix was losing it to ororosring for the role
rather than drag this on any longer
He had to starve himself and stuff
without the drug addiction
I don't think it was the role at all :/ so no, I won't agree
I think it was defenilty a factor
the documentary explicitly mentioned how tough being famous was on heath
while giving 50 seconds for a journal that his dad was fondly remembering
Ye and can u imagine how much stress the joker role put on him
which is why stress played a heavy hand
right, it's the stress of a major role
and drug addiction
rather than SPECIFICALLY the joker role
I think the joker role caused a ton of stress for him and lead to other things
based off evrything
based off of what, jiren?
basically stress and drug addiction do not mix when prepping to method act for a psychotic character
the things he did where not healthy and the role of the joker was so huge he tried to get it perfect
basically stress and drug addiction do not mix when prepping to method act for a
psychoticcharacter in a major motion picture
even better
I’ll agree with that
keep in mind the character itself is not relevant
no, just any character that someone feverishly method acts for
ok
Christian Bale's Machinist
I still think the joker holds more weight than other chars though
well that's just your headcanon, basically
wouldn’t yours also be headcannon to cause nothing is officially confirmed we just have notes
we have too much headcanon from both sides
lol it’s fine
lets just settle with that basically stress and drug addiction do not mix when prepping to method act
it’s nice though juba is mature during arguments
mine isn't headcanon, as all I'm saying is based off what they said in the documentary
if they didn't touch on the joker thing, I have reason to believe it didn't happen
what I’m saying is based on ledgers notes and what some people that knew him said
I get where your coming juba
From
agree to disagree, I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Ye it’s fine
bygones be bygones
no, not yet
I forgot to ask u about it
been under stress, LOL
that sucks bro
could stress be considered the same thing as depression
there is a thin line between the two
Hopefully u overcome the stress bro
Just watched parasite
@torpid shadow can you spoil tag the images too?
Idk how to do that in app
post it in a different server, copy the link of the image, and post that
Anyone here argue about ThunderCats roar yet?
Looks like a terrible remake from what little I’ve seen, is it any good?
No
Cartoon Network is remaking their old shows and making them super cartoony for kids
Did u ever see the show uncle grandpa
?
Also I heard that toy sales can be the deciding the factor if they continue a show or not
What do you guys think.. does Netflix ruin mostly if their shows with their PC thing??
indeed
Apocalypse better be in next young justice he’s been teased for to long
I'm rewatching RWBY. God I forgot how awesome Volumes 1-3 were
People are trying to cancel Vince vaughn and not watch any more of his things cause he shook hands with the president
People are brain dead and will find a way to start shit any way they can
Tara is the teen titans movie looked horrendous
I don’t understand why even if u don’t like the guy theirs common gestures when meeting people you be polite
lol
Terra
I’m not gonna lie I ended up not liking her char in teen titans
At first she was fine but later on I started to dislike her
True
True
Ferris buellers day off is oin netflix watch it if you havente yet
Anyone een titans s2 yet?
ye pasto has
Anakin in Attack of the Clones
was the most awkward
disgusting little shit
of all time
like holy shit that kid ruined every scene he was in
Like fuck me man, he's a one movie cringe compilation
made EVERY scene awkward as fuck
I thought he really killed it in the younglings scene
That's the next movie
?
don't ❕
why
it's boring
I couldn't tell you really, it just feels so lifeless
I only watched the first episode, however
you go watch that
and then come back here
Oh I saw the first one
Or at least like half of the first one
It just didn't really catch me
it feels like the CG isn't as high quality, which is very off putting
I was never a fan of Boba Fett or anything
but I'm no expert
so I might be swinging at empty air here
but stuff like the first bounty target he picks up, baby yoda, and the old man he meets all look kinda terrible
I'm watching Attack of the Clones
and like
Ewan Macgregor is a treasure
McGregor?
macintosh.
Mando is good next season will involve a lot of undisclosed lore
Like yodas race
And probsly new Jedi
and if they do introduce new Jedi it will be retconning Disney’s trilogy
Which is a plus
The season finale set up a ton
Ya'll ever see the Extreme Ghostbusters?
This shit is low key horrifying
I just saw some shit that will stay with me forever
how did this get past censors
Like nudity is not okay but this mentally traumatizing, lovecraftian horrific imagery is
Like I love it but still
This episode would make an amazing horror game omg
So back when Ghostbusters was big
they made an animated series
Then in the mid-late 90's they made a sequel series to it with only one original ghostbuster in there
that's the one I grew up on
and it had some like genuinely terrifying things
conceptually speaking
like of course it's a cartoon so you're not going to be afraid, but if you stopped and thought about what was happening on the screen
you'd just die a little inside imagining if it's real rofl
#GameOfThrones prequel series 'House of the Dragon' is on track to release in 2022 🐉

we'll finally have winds of winter by then

That's understandable. 😐
One Piece, definitely.
pretty girls
funny jokes

What do you need more
anyone tried reading spawn here?
It's good
I never read Spawn.
movie should have been done later when better cgi was around but it’s cool
Their making a new one
I did like Micheal jai white though
Mike perry recently talked shit to jai white
Why? What'd White do?
No idea
Perhaps internal beef
Tropic Thunder is good
I should go back and watch the rest of the RDJ Joe Rogan experience
great dude
Yeah tropic thunder is funny
This dolittle seems like thrash tho
Even for a childrens movie
I was very confused at first because since i grew up with eddie murphys dolittle i was just like "..... Why is he not black" lmao

Saw that young sheldon was trending and was prepared to be grossed out but when i clicked it it was just older people being so glad that stuff happended with their tv show
made me happy
Just watched 1917, really great war film
the cinematography, screenplay, direction and acting were top tier
greatly paced as well with beautiful soundtrack and sfx
highly recommend to watch
if you can, try for imax 🙂
Going to watch it today, already hyped about it
A ‘Madagascar’ prequel series titled ‘MADAGASCAR: A NEW WILD’ is in development at Hulu that will focus on the main characters as children residing in their rescue habitat at the Central Park Zoo. (Source: https://t.co/dmt9zjoJ5Q)
Say what, now? 😐
ok I watched another Edgar Wright movie @dim hedge
Scott Pilgrim was nightmarishly boring and unfunny
now what
Watch akira kurosawas samurai movies and sergio leones western movies
fuck
I'm so tempted to rewatch Breaking Bad
I would be able to get so much more out of it this time around, having seen BCS and thought about BB and shit
but not right now
You like breaking bad?
I adore it
So there is something we do agree on after all
I should go watch El Camino before I forget again
but maybe I should save that until I eventually rewatch BB
so it will be better
but I do need to rewatch it, one day
Better Call Saul was definitely a lot better having seen it
so now I wonder how good Breaking Bad is having seen everything else
that's why I watched it all now
finally had a good excuse
and it was break week, so that helped
I wish I had more shit saved from season 4, I stopped taking as many screenshots around season 3
s5 is going to be really interesting, since I guess it's going to be all about him ||finally turning into Saul||
whereas 4 was a very ||post-Chuck|| season
guess all of that was building to this, somewhat
Do you remember when the ||plane crashed|| in BB? At 1 point in the series, they intro’d all episodes with these vague flash forwards, puzzle pieces if you would.
Vince has been doing the same thing with Better Call Saul. Slowly, little by little hinting towards something GRAND. I don’t know when we will see it all unfold, but I know it’s going to be a spectacle.
@runic dirge
yeah, I loved that
no idea what the Cinnabon sequences are
I didn't even realize that it was him until the one where he speaks, but maybe I'm just an idiot
and no idea at all how they're going to tie in the ||vacuum man|| into the timeline now
I have absolutely no idea what they mean either .. but they are so ominous..
I can only guess
Just cause you said that, you should watch El Camino
Rewatching 5 seasons of breaking bad is a tall task
maybe next break week
You could do it. Seeing as you like the universe, it wouldn’t become too tedious for you.
I’m definitely going to rewatch it 1 day. But it has to be in the distant future
Breaking bad is easily one of my favorite things ever. Definitely a landmark in television.
reducing it to television is actually a disservice to Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad had 5 seasons and Better Call Saul is going into its 5th, and possibly final season??
Really? Interesting
which I think will make it have the same amount of episodes as BB, if you include El Camino
Yeah maybe, bb had 62 eps
There is no guarantee season 5 of better call Saul will have 10 episodes like the other seasons
—Anyway, can’t wait until it all unravels
Saul fucking Goodman
Have any favorite and least favorite character in the breaking bad universe?
I dunno
Saul, Gus, Mike
probably Walter over everyone else, but it's been a while
I didn't really like as much of the side characters in Breaking Bad as I do in BCS, which I think benefits from being more focused
and I really like how Saul and Kim work with each other
whereas Skylar and Hank's wife I disliked a lot
Marie
there were parts of the show that didn't feel like they had to be there
bcs is slow, but it's pretty honed in on what's going on most of the time, and all the characters are on the same page for the most part
unlike in BB where the majority of the show is Walt hiding everything from everyone
some parts of BCS I don't care for, primarily the Mike story in s4 where they're ||building the superlab with the germans||
it's cool that it's there as a tie in but it didn't really go anywhere
everything with Gus and Hector is much more interesting
and I love all of Nacho's material as well, so hopefully he's in s5 a lot
Yeah nacho is great. Love seeing his character being built
Wasn’t Tuco introduced recently
And Hector Salamanca... damn I could use a rewatch
Tuco was in the first episode lol

Wait.. what? Tuco is the insane one .. I || remember Nacho’s assassination attempt and the eventual paralyzing of Hector, but I though he was I introduced much later. As a caretaker for Hector once he finds out the news||
the skateboard guys ran a scam on his grandma and they all ended up at his house
then they take them to the desert
That’s right
Everything is so seamless I’m mixing my breaking bad with my better call Saul
But I think that’s a positive also

Insane
National treasure 3 is being made
U guys going to go see new bad boys
I would if my friend were in town another week
@dim hedge
what movie should I watch tonight
dealer's choice
isn't Scott Pilgrim a webcomic or something originally
well I hated it
I like Baby Driver and I don't like Scott Pilgrim, so now what
maybe it was because BD was his original idea and he wanted to make it for years!
hmmmm
instead of adapting someone else's work

unfunny nerd shit
if I were a child, maybe I would be entertained when they mention a beloved IP
but I just rolled my eyes
and then eventually it was over
I don't know if the fights are intentionally bad or just bad, but either way I didn't care for them
it was funny seeing Steve Rogers
right that's his name
captain marvel was in this as well! which was weird
didn't even recognize her
I will await it on tenterhooks
I've been meaning to get around to that for a while now
so ok
can I have the short version of the Scott Pilgrim video essay
4 minutes maybe
4 seconds
as someone who never engaged with the source material or grew up in any of the same situations as Scott
there wasn't really anything for me to latch onto
how is it directionless?
the serial killer reminds me of Kylo Ren which is funny but otherwise there is not a single interesting thing in this movie and I am dying of boredom
could just be that I'm not getting the point, but I can't latch onto a single thing in this
I don't know the time it's set, I know the vague setting, I don't understand any of the motivations for the characters or why any of them are here
I can't figure out what the point of it is and it's so slow without doing anything particularly interesting that I'm losing my mind
I like when he raided the pharmacy and then went back to go doctor himself
the guy from Pulp Fiction is here which is throwing me off
and I don't know who this old man is but I know he's a big name actor
I don't get it
Which movie is that? No country for old men?
yes
I thought the pressurized air gun was cool right up until the moment the Sheriff explained it
why would he do that
is it really just to drive in the metaphor
Because it looks cool
that Not Adam Driver sees people as livestock because he's insane so he kills them like animals or something
it was cool until he explained it
now I'm just groaning
Why would u compare Javier Bardem to Adam Driver
because my brain is incredibly tiny and I don't know very many actors
Maybe it would have been better of not explained
his character reminds me of Kylo Ren
Probably because of his hair
I don't want to finish this movie but what else am I going to do with my life for the next forty minutes
Javier bardem in his best movie, Biutiful, and as a villain in skyfall (james bond)
Watch Iñarritus movies, amores peros, 21 grams, babel, biutiful, birdman and the revenant
I'm so confused
Why is that?
oh I forgot to mention
the one scene I liked was when he shot in the dude's lock
because he'd done it a few times already so we, the audience knew what to expect when the main character guy didn't, so that was cool
Yeah
but like
Have you seen some other movies from the coen brothers?
nothing that happens in this movie makes any sense, as I was saying
no
right after I said I was confused, I resumed the movie, and he shot the Pulp Fiction guy
Lmao
which means he never accomplished anything in the movie
Who is the pulp fiction guy?
and I don't understand why he's here
uhm
wait no not pulp fiction
Woody Harrelson
Natural Born Killers
You should watch some of their movies, like Fargo, the big lebowski, two of the best movies from the 90s, and theres tons of memes from the big lebowski movie, i love those two.
Yeaah thats right
I havnt seen natural born killers yet, i couldnt get into it at all before
Right? I also felt his role was a bit odd
that's how I feel about this entire movie
maybe I would feel the same about Javier Bardem if I knew him from other movies, I don't know
I don't get it
Oh and watch o brother, where art thou? And true grit, also from the coen brothers
maybe I'm just too young to understand this movie
Nah I dont think so
even though it's (only?) thirteen years old
It has aged well imo, its like any new movie, If i hadnt seen it before I wouldnt been able to tell its 13 years old
I'm actually screaming
out of nowhere this strange border security scene is going on for a million years
I wish there was a way to know if I was going to like a movie before I watched it
I could try looking at the actors but I don't know enough actors well enough to judge that
I could try looking at director but people don't only make one kind of movie and there's a lot of variance in shit
and aaaaaaaaa
its suppoesdly one of the best movies from last decade, so theres really no tell if you like it or not
i remember people here, on this server, call it the perfect film
i like the movie myself, but i dont love it as much as everyone else
Yeah I just don't get it
Please watch the big lebowski if you got time Roro, curious to know what you would think of it
Here's a clip from House.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cFJYdAfZ4w
But the hard part is telling them.
Season 3 Episode 5 "Fools for Love"
House takes the case of a young woman (Jurnee Smollett) who is rushed to the hospital with problems breathing and severe stomach pain, after she and her husband are robbed. But when her husband collapses,...
Also, FUCK YOU, Foreman. XC
Because House
Lol
I still remember when foreman ||gave chemo to an infected patient because he didn’t believe House was right so then he had to tell the patient she will die, I was so angry||
We all were
You know, House may be a misanthropic jackass, but it's not hard to see why he hates other people. Namely Foreman. XC
I really wanted to like foreman
I thought he'd get better and understand house
tho it's hard to understand him
No shit.
Also, this is one way to sum up Foreman.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCzmOknrN70
Rick's speech to Jerry in the "Whirly Dirly Conspiracy."
"I took your family? Who do you think had more taken from them, when you shot 20 ccs of liquid dream killer into my daughter? She was Ricks’ daughter, Jerry. She had OPTIONS! That all ended because she felt sorry for...
yep, but Jerry is scum
And so is Foreman.
Jerry is worse
Yeah. ||I wish Beth would leave him already.||
Is beth a clone or the real deal?
No one knows. 😐
Yeah.
@runic dirge
@true yew So yeh, Mark Hamill does an entire little 10 or 15 minute episode where he is the only voice in the entire thing
4 or 5 characters all voiced by him
who are those?
The Joker, Swamp Thing, the Trickster, Mark playing himself and I believe a random cop or something
The Joker and the Trickster kidnap Mark Hamill
So most of the episode is them in a car talking to each other
When famous actor Mark Hamill is kidnapped by master villain The Joker it will take all his voice acting skills to escape.

You are not supposed to stop every other minute and complain. You’re supposed watch it from start to finish. Or just completely drop it and give up trying. Judgments and opinions should be reserved until the end, and it goes without saying.
Or else what’s the point? — How are you supposed to enjoy anything. If, every time you see something you slightly disagree with, you feel the need to stop the intended rhythm, and feel the need to voice your opinion/ displeasure. It’s completely pointless, a moronic waste of time. —— is you wanna act like a critic, at least critique correctly.
Is the boys good?
Ye
Watch it
Or u beta
beta
Don’t look up the comics though or your gonna get a massive spoiler
The boys is good
Been a while since I saw Karl Urban
a director or someone else in the film industry believes that not pausing a movie makes the experience better
this is only helpful if you're actually interested in watching it according to the rhythm they created, AKA only if you care about authorial intent
so no, I will continue to pause movies whenever necessary
It’s completely pointless
what if it helps you gather your thoughts going forward in a film? there are slower parts and good opportunities to take a break
it could lead to you enjoying the movie more
but because it's not what the creator made it's bad?
authorial intent is not law or even always good
Pausing adds nothing. It only takes away. If the filmmaker wanted pauses he would have added them.
and not everyone has time to watch a movie more than once
so basically, you're advocating for turning your brain off, throwing the money at the theaters and the industry, and consuming next product without thinking?
analysis is good on every watchthrough
it can make the experience better
so I'm going to keep doing it
I don't care what the director thinks, that's not why I watch movies
I want to watch something that's interesting to me
so the more control I have over my experience, the better
would this person argue that the theatergoer with a screaming one year old because they didn't want to pay a babysitter is part of the experience?
how about the retard with a flash camera
this post is advocating for theater experiences
I personally don’t watch movies in cinema , it’s not the point
and Rai is just focusing on one part of it
no shit that someone in the industry would advocate for people to see shit in theaters, that's more money in their pocket
you can have a better experience of the movie if you have more control over it
I’m focusing on the pausing aspect of it. Yes. I added the whole quote because I can’t just add the last 2 pictures , there is no context then.
He's popular in korea on his own and is now popular world wide cause parasite is good
anyway, are you seriously telling me that I should compromise my potential enjoyment of something just because I'm doing what the director wants?
no, I've heard of Parasite, because everyone loves it
well, you're insane
and dare I say it, a shill
this is a crazy argument
I don't care about authorial intent as much as you I guess
Pausing can be bad at points but its not going to ruin the film
it can make your watch better or worse
all the content is still intact in the individual scenes
but I have seen it
when I pause, I'm just talking about the parts of the movie that I've seen so far
example:
I think, unless I'm misremembering
pausing baby driver to look up who kevin spacey is made the movie better because it changed how I viewed his character in-universe
as I've explained here before
so they're ruining their experience, according to you
Those are all completely reasonable pauses
so just because I have something to complain about, I'm a villain?
that doesn't make any sense
strag
if I had to pause to go to the bathroom, it'd be ok
but if I pause to ask a question and talk about the movie, it's not ok?
that's doesn't make any sense
either both sides ruin the experience, or neither does
You are asking very little questions roro come on..
if you care a lot about authorial intent, any pause, for any reason, is bad
including unavoidable breaks
you're asking me to turn my brain off and I can't do that
yeah that's not going to happen
the creator is not always right
this is about authorial intent, strag
it's about the creator
you're saying I should watch every scene back to back to get the most out of the movie as possible
I say that when I rewind baby driver to the beginning so I can measure how long the long take is in the first six minutes, I enjoy the movie more
pausing made my experience better, so I'm going to keep doing it
I tried watching it a second time and decided I didn't feel like it
I could have, sure, but there were better things I could have done with my time
so I didn't
Ok so let’s say pausing did enhance your experience that 1 time watching baby driver. Do you really think it’s reasonable to apply it to every movie? Baby driver is a action, comedy movie with guns and exploding cars etc..
No country for old men is a western thriller ...
you're generalizing too much, raibushi
both movies have slower and faster segments to them
yes roro
it's not like it's impossible to take a break at a good time in either
ror
yeah
who takes a break while watching movies
lots of people
sometimes for unavoidable reasons, like going to the bathroom
lol just go before.
sometimes for avoidable reasons, like making a wall of text
Which is completely fine
I know, Doom
But it’s not what you are doing roro
the only movies where I allow you to take a break are things like lord of the rings: extended cut.
oh Bryan Cranston is in Drive so I guess I have to watch it now
I didnt take a break watching the irishman
The last hour or so I was just longing for it to end
Shouldnt have seen it in cinema
no country for old men is a slow burning thriller , pausing at the wrong time is going to completely ruin the experience
Same with Parasite
Good point
there's no reason that couldn't be the second watchthrough
all you have to do is not pause it
That defeats the whole purpose . You already know what going to happen?
there is no surprises to be had. Everything by default becomes predictable. It’s counterproductive.
doesn't matter
if anything, it can make the movie better
because you know more about it and can understand what's going on
there is no "best" way to watch a movie
in the same way someone who gets spoiled on the end of Endgame can get more out of the movie by look at every scene with ||Tony|| can have a different perspective on the movie than someone seeing it blind
potentially
What is this elitist attitude around movie watching?
I like seeing people pause to comment on a particular scene, personally. It gives room to more in-depth analysis
If youre watching it as an experience thats one thing, but for analysis pausing is cool
Then whut?
I honestly dont think it matters too much as long as you understand the intent behind the scene and keep the thought in mind tbh
Unless its a major scene
yes
I don’t think the directed expected Irishmen to be seen in one sitting by people
@true yew did u like drive?
ye.
I thought it was good and I really liked the soundtrack I thought it was good
Drive is cool

Ok! So just finished, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
I liked it a lot
But i can see why people might not like it as much
Saying things like, “pointless characters, scenes, pointless exposition etc...
But i do think most of it serves its purpose, building the mood.
The feel of the 1960’s
I could see this being someone’s favorite movie, all the references etc. a love letter to Hollywood they say.
But I also do think Mr. Tarantino enjoys this movie more than anyone else.
The hippie scene, towards the end was pure fucking GOLD.
But I also do think Mr. Tarantino enjoys this movie more than anyone else.
yep, basically
loved the ending
and I enjoyed the movie
but it's definitely a film for him
I've yet to watch it
Its good. Definitely classic Tarantino
So I've heard!
Word of advise going into Once Upon a time in Hollywood. Buckle up and make sure you are not stressed for time.
It’s definitely a love letter to 1960’s Hollywood with a sprinkle of good ol Tarantino
Yeah, I'm good with long movies
sat through Watchmen
and Bollywood and Kollywood cinema
and enjoyed it all
I assume they are super long
yep
all indian cinema reached 3 hour runtimes
which is why there is always intermissions
Hmm, it is a fair list
Glory Road is a fucking epic movie
Tarantino has been saying for a long time that he is only going to make 10 movies and probably call it quits after that. He doesn’t count Kill Bill vol 2. As one of his 10, because he says he has 1 more in him after Once upon a time.
technically he could make a Once upon a time in Hollywood 2, whiteout exceeding his limit of 10 movies. seeing as there is more to explore with some of the characters. Cus he doesn’t count sequels.
Twice Upon a Time in Hollywood

reservoir dogs and pulp are my top as well
Who's a fan of Justice League?
Shazam in the cartoons tho
Oh yeah the cartoon was epic
But how about the movies?
JL2 is gonna be an epic one
Id rank the same, ur switching places with hateful eight and kill bill
