Yeh it's nice that he's varied like that as a character

but strictly by portrayals, Thanos in the MCU wins over him 10 times out of 10 tbh

The only thing the Joker had over Thanos for me was that Ledger managed to really bring to life the insanity part of the Joker archetype

Which was awesome, but Thanos was really a person in his portrayal

Brolin brought him to life in a way Ledger never could have for the Joker just because the Joker isn't really substantial in that way

#

Like, there isn't enough of the Joker to compete with Thanos, and especially Brolin vs Ledger, Brolin's a far better actor

Yeah he made some good points. I feel like i cant say i had issues with what he said. I was skeptical with the fact hat he made his own rubric but it made sense. I also feel like noting how much a movie has made or how much hype it had to justify the argument shouldnt be much of a go to thing because it detracts from the fact that were talking about the writing and acting for a character and less so about how well it was received. Like i got what he was getting at but i just have issue with saying that one of the ways we can tell this character is great is because people liked. It works in this context because its the reason were having this topic at all is because people think these are two great characters. But ig im against using that in other conversations regarding writing or etc.

I'm on the fence about it, on the one hand I like that a regular dude who has just trained himself to the absolute peak of human conditioning has the force of will not to give into his inner demons that want him to kill after all he has been through but on the other hand he deals with some of the most psychotic and evil individuals in all of comics who constantly slaughter innocent men, women, and children while he stubbornly sticks to his code and just simply ships them off the jail/Arkham Asylum which they always break out of, and then proceed to kill again.

I mean we've been waiting for DCEU to get their feet under them and to hit their 2nd wind for the longest time, I am happy about that. However I will say this, for the sake of the people who are mostly MCU fans I sincerely hope that any potential monetary fallbacks of future MCU films doesn't result in things like a lowering of quality from MCU movies or the fans themselves not enjoying their experiences/getting their money's worth. All I want is a competitive environment, cause that benefits everyone.

On a side note because Captain Marvel is the next big superhero movie coming, despite my personal feelings about Brie Larson or the character of Captain Marvel I sincerely don't want that movie to fail, I want the fans of the character to have a great time watching a movie. I personally don't have high expectations for the movie due to a number of reasons (the CGI, Larson's acting, the potential influence from the unpopular comic book series) but I'm sure it will do solid because again, it's an MCU movie.

@mighty mist It's just her character is pretty bad, it's too the point that she is now on her 5th or 6th run in the past 2-3 years. It's like half the time her author is presenting her as some psychopath trying to imitate human emotion but almost never acting like a human being would in most cases and the other half of the time uses her character/book to push SJW BS.

It doesn't help that whenever Marvel has done the runs they've always tried to present Captain Marvel as "Earth's most popular hero", I don't know if you've ever watched WWE before but the best comparison I can make to her is that's she like female comic version of John Cena, except Cena is a genuinely good dude irl and Captain Marvel is...well, not so much.

I should point out that I'm not a particularly big American comics guy, my opinion on Captain Marvel the comic character is mostly molded from the numerous videos I've seen online of people like Diversity & Comics and YellowFlash reviewing the books and dissecting them for the most part, now obviously I'm sure they both have their respective biases but when they've said they're only doing so to make the comics industry better I believe them.

So GoT isn't a pure adaption, which means it doesn't follow the material to a T. Obviously the writers will cut certain things or maybe the budget wasn't there to do certain things. They ran out of source material in Season 5 but they adlibbed a lot of Season 5. 6, 7, and 8 technically aren't canon because again, major changes from the books and things that haven't happened in the books (as of yet) happened in the show
