Invincible s4 ep 1 || the sequid conflict felt contrived. Whats his name gets close enough to use the disruptor literally less than a second later. Mark stands with the guy in his hands for like 10 seconds waiting for him to arrive. Maybe fucking fly the fucker towards the guy with the disruptor? Its also awfully convenient that they didn't have enough disruptors. And Conquest escaping was predictable but its actually really stupid that there weren't any precautions put in place like what he did to mark. Honestly man Invincible is an incredibly stupid show. Its really hard to like it. It has moments of good every once in a while, but atp its just outright bad||

I never thought much about the ribs, just thinking they were some ancient creature, almost akin to a much older world (like ours with dinosaurs). batman is so great as a character because he allows for tonal exploration that no other comic book character can, from goofy to gritty

you can also go full scifi with him like with grant morrison

He was a narcissist who was raised by vought with the idea that he was the perfect being and given everything he wanted due to his importance as the face of the company’s brand but he wasn’t yet truly irredeemable prior to the start of the series. GoT s8/The Boys s5 || Got was a complex story with multiple interweaving story lines. The Boys isn't that. You could make an argument that this season has been a time waste since they just seem to have shoved V1 plotline to just promote Vought rising but other than that, its been your usual Boys. It had always been gross. It had always been a show which had too much random shit for satire or caricature ||

The Boys is being ruined by Kripke shifting focus on spinoffs like GenV and upcoming Vought Rising

Instead they leave that for last episode. It wasnt needed to waste half the season on the v1 fetch quest, felt very dragged and now they switch to a new goal: kimiko radiation, which feels so last minute||

Im not comparing it to GOT and on its own, its a fine season, its just a weak final season

I think it’s the wrong series to go the gritty grounded cop story route. I would love a true detective style the question series, or huntress, or any character they want that isn’t the bright green magic space cop ruled by a council of smurfs

Superman/Lanterns || I mean, we already saw Lantern constructs in the Superman film and how bright it can be so I’m enjoying seeing the gritty side and tonal counterpoint to that while also maintaining the consistency of powers from the movie to the show, and I’m excited to see what that entails ||

So far I’m only more excited by this shit than to be detracted, and what has been described of the structure of the show also piqued my interest

Lanterns ||a more grounded 2016 timeline with the murder mystery and then a more scifi oriented 2026 timeline is what seems to be the plan with the show||
