In the case of knights there is less incentive to mess around since we know where everything ends for these characters.||

asoiaf (incl twow preview)/kotsk || I think the show only stuff gets added or changed to fill in gaps of knowledge they jsut didnt have. Like what are they supposed to do with euron? We have some probably prophetic visions from the forsaken but was that even available at the time? And what exactly does that mean? What is the proper way to do the jon dany plot? What is the true in-character response to these late impactful events George doesnt know or we'd have the book. How are they supposed to know? ||

Asoiaf (twow) ||a lot of these plot lines were self inflicted wounds. Not including young griff likely kneecaped them. And the cersei stuff likely ended sooner with her getting killed by young griff. The dorne plot made no sense dunno why that was included, they cut the plot so they couldn't do arianne, dark star or anything related to that properly. It baffled me why they bothered with euron when he dint even assault old town, had no dragon horns or a plan to become some sort of god. All these books were out with this knowledge and they had years to ask George. So this feels like they dint care and just gave up. Its very obvious the one eyed crow is brynden rivers and bran was gonna learn about the blackfyres and the others. But in the end they just vented it for night king, the Jon reveal and cersei shenanigans. All of this really comes down to George either not telling them or they dint give a shit.||

asoiaf || Say there are 5 beats of some of these story arcs. For stuff like young griff and dorne, the books only take us to 2/5. Even if you know how 5 is supposed to end, without 3 and 4, you dont know how to get there in a good way. And I think it must be a pretty hard question of how do i get there in a good way because its what george has been working on for 13 years ||

It's blatantly clear asoiaf|| they chose wrong, cutting it all out and replacing it lead to a horrendous outcome. I would have just used what was there and made it work. Like Jon connigton was clearly gonna be the one to have a freak out moment due to bells and grayscale that would lead to some tragedy in king's landing. But they just gave his plots to jorah and vented him. In the end it was a train wreck, and it dint help they could barely write characters like stannis, bran or Jaime. They just resorted to making them robots, dumb or backtrack. I just don't thing D&D did a good job once it was time to write with the material George dint have explicitly outlined in books. So they immediately started venting stuff from a clash of kings immediately.||
