Scott said the sales from the first 3 issues of his run set his run up for the next 3 years
Sopranos S6 E18 ||what the fuck I didn't expect Chris to die like THAT||
||I'm genuinely shocked||
Time for rewrites
Sopranos S6E18 ||Tony is too much, this don be saying the funniest things to his opps||
Absolute Evil 1 alt cover
Featuring villains from the absolute universe
Oh I didn't realize there was a new Absolute line
Sick
My guess is they aren't closing this
Till 5 years
Minimum
Its making too much money rn
Synder said he has long term plans for years and years
already has rough outlines for the first 50 issues
Its gonna be insane they just need to keep it creator focused
need to get some of these books better creators
Absolute Batman #1 ||ouch i just started 💔||
@sand cypress
so what are your favorite books
Apart from manga let me attempt to recall
Boo
Maximum Ride was my top favorite in middle school
Off the top of my head,
The dogs of winter, the fault in our stars, lord of the rings, Jurassic park, a court of thorns and roses
There’s a lot on my TBR, I was stuck on young adult/teen books for a long time because I love them so much
Holy fuck what
The dogs of winter was an insane read for a 5th grader
You should read scythe
Real books
Highly recommend
On my list
Is mistborn on your list
If it isn’t already it is now
Absolute Batman ||dude what in the actual fuck is going on. Like Youss said, Batman is HATED by Darkseid||

another r/op channel in my books
Azua
How much are you in the mood for my latest Mistborn hate reactions
Mistborn is fantastic. That first trilogy is probably my favorite of Sanderson's completed stuff
...hate?
Jk last 8 chapters have been goodd
Individual books tho words of radiance is insane so
sure lay it on me
Jurassic park book so good…
I only watched the movie
I own it but not read it yet
READDD
For me WoA had opportunity to get to top of Sando level
But it was bad around ending
I’ve been trying to find another book by Crichton but B&N don’t have it
Read State of Fear
It is a crazy book but I gotta say wor|| do you think there’s too much going on at the end||
Wor end || like Sanderson just stuffed 300 pages worth of content into 100 ||
Ye
That's WOR||typical for Sanderson. He loves his Sanderlanches. I would say wor goes a little harder then some others||
WoA || I think its the weakest of the original trilogy ||
Idk maybe its just cause its only my 2nd book of his
Twok didnt feel that bad
Or not bad
Just overstuffed
Twok is a gd classic so makes sense
Nah its really way too much compared to any Sanderlanche
JP novel + movie, no plot spoilers ||the book is so much more gruesome than the movie, if they had gone off of it it’d be rated R for sure. We were robbed||
I had same issue as Wombat in my reread
I prefer WOR to TWOK but
If the JP novel was adapted as is it would’ve been the most boring movie ever
Apologies my wifi is ass
It's near bottom for me personally
WaT > OB > TWOK > RoW > WoR
Like if I had to pick any book of Sanderson's that could be in a class and taught it is either mistborn or twok
Jurassic Park
It was his strongest until || Straff survives Amarantha || WoA
Legit the worst decision that mf has ever taken
Debatable..
Jurassic park novel/movie ||I LOVE the movie to death, but I think it’d be cool if we get a new one someday with the same violence level as the novel||
Just a straight horror dinosaur movie would be sick
Message chain incoming
how far into HoA are you
It’s not about the violence it’s about the novel being horrible to adapt because of how Crichton writes
HoA ch 20-24/WaT all
Good last 4 chapters. || Love Investigative Vin. Is the 16 related to Shard Number and that's gonna play a important role? Would they figure out that there's another power that's equal to Ruin and keeping it at bay, and hence come up with a way to utilize that balance. I dunno.
Terris people being invested by Preservation is why they aren't affected by Mist? Seems likely. Maybe that's how they would identify presence of Preservation.
I really want more of Vin and "Human", the Koloss she was talking to. I really want Koloss civilization to make way in this book.
One thing I don't like is how we are bombarded with Magic System terms like Blessing of Potency and Awareness. I know there was no way to explore these in previous book, but I dislike addition of entirely different lore that's not built up from earlier lore this late in the story. I am kinda able to excuse it since its supposed to be hidden and there wasn't a time for Kandra chapter before this.
The highlight was definitely Spook. The origin of the name got me to cry. It is the typical great Sando chapter that I used to love in Stormlight too. Like Dabbid's chapter in RoW || HoA/Stormlight all

HoA ch 25 || only noteworthy thing might be Elend's growth here, His utilitarian outlook that's been present lately, atleast for the army and everyone other than Vin, and his skills with army, managing, everything has improved so much||
HoA ch 26 || Spook's chapter feels sadder as it goes by. Ruin's starting to control him 😭 . Also what's the thing with him suddenly having Pewter now. So Allomancy is indeed Ruin's and he can just randomly give people the ability to burn random metals? Or is there some second "Snapping" which unlocks them to use pair of their metals, having an extra category between Mistings and Mistborns for allomancers. If that were so, I doubt it wasn't discovered in 1000 years of Rashek's rules and Allomancers being present.
Best part of it was the emotional crux of Clubs and Spook's relation and Spook's perspective on it, and the pain that he feels of abandoning Clubs. ||
Ch 27 and 28 || Like I said above, Hoid's presence makes it wonderful and this is close to the Hoid that I want (way better than the Hoid I was given in book 1 and 2) . Vin accepting/realizing she was more content in that period of them plotting the revolution and the balls and etc was just v emotional. I like when for characters, some such turbulent times are some of their best times. I can't describe why I like it much, but it's kinda been the same case for me in my life and seeing that be presented makes it feel nice.
It has one of my fav sentences of HoA. "Somehow she had grown into a woman in between the fall of kings and collapse of worlds". This acceptance/realization is just such a pivotal moment for her character and the convo between Elend and Vin in following chapter is made all so very great. Vin convincing Hoid/Slowswift, that whole bit of dialogue was amazing. And then her acceptance of her "legacy" as she implies with convo with Slowswift. :chefskiss:
||
Maybe I need to reread it then
it’s been about 3 years
HoA ch 27/ WaT all || "And your Survivor. Last I checked, he was somewhat dead as well"
DOES HOID FUCKING KNOW ALREADY? IS THIS BRANDON'S SNEAKY HINT/FORESHADOWING OF KELSIER BEING ALIVE||
I just love dinosaurs rawr
Enjoy the feast of my bad takes Azua
I also fear I’m the only maximum ride fan in existence
Talk about smth horribly written
Ch 28
may be a few mins before I can read all of that
Nw. I haven't been posting here much as I think only you have read all that I would put in tags (like Vady hasn't read WaT, Spice hasn't read Tress, etc)
Just saw you here and yea
I’m off I’ll see this channel in a year
Absolute batman 15 ||yeah its real, and Darkseid really has it out for every hero in this world.||
It's genius
Your takes are pretty good actually. Seems like you are enjoying the book. And you are thinking about the right things
HoA || just take those Magic System drops as little hints about what's to come. it's not all supposed to make sense right away, but you already know that
Just trust Brandon to cook
Won't say too much not to spoil you ||
It's just too late kinda
Without any reason for it to be this late
Err there's reason alright
but it feels disjointed with others
cosmere general no major spoilers || I mean sometimes brandon just references something from another book and its not going to make sense if you havent read the other book yet ||
My only issues with HoA have been
|| Epigraphs making it unreadable at times, new Magic system-eaque stuff and lore of Kandra established this late, and that it feels like there's no sense of finality ||
|| Kandra are part of this book sooo. ||
|| Like I know Breaths in RoW and Hoid using allomancy in WoR || WoR/RoW
I could notice that and hence not be bothered
Absolute batman 17-19 ||scarecrow will be the next villain for bruce after bane, so once 17-19 hit its crane time. And we have Scott Snyder saying he's gonna be very scary. And you saw how he wrote those already.||
HoA || fair enough. Brandon does go into the magic about kandras quite late. But there was no reason for him to go into it earlier ||
HoA || and I actually think its cool that he's still diving into the magic and there is still more to learn about it late into the series ||
My boy will get what he DESERVES
HoA || There was no reason for it true but that just makes it disjointed for me. Add that with no sense of finality present in this book ||
Absolute DC ||What does darkseid have to do with it? I haven’t read any at all||
Absolute dc ||iirc lisa said darkseid found a universe where heroes are losing or some shit idr exactly. Something similar to that||
||or created one||
Absolute DC || it’s a universe created by Darkseid’s influence, which means that everything in it is skewed and completely stacked against our heroes ||
Absolute DC || now the heroes are a minority and not the status quo like in the main DC universe ||
Absolute DC || for example, everything that is advantageous to the heroes like Bruce’s wealth and power, Clark’s upbringing with the Kents and Diana’s childhood and association with the Amazons is removed and the course of their lives are changed while keeping their key personality traits ||
The Absolute books are cooking so hard it’s the thing that’s bought me back to comics again alongside the Ultimate universe in Marvel
Wow that sounds really alluring
It’s pretty dope
Absolute dc ||he made an entire multiverse where turmoil and challenge is the driving force. And it was all made by him. In this world heroes are the ones at a disadvantage. ||
Absolute dc
Really need that absolute blue beetle
GOT @tawny parcel || this was so funny lmaoo ||
GOT ||bro immediately folded||
@modern lichen @foggy mirage
In manga volume measure, how long is Absolute Batman
I need a equivalent metric as I am not familiar with issue count and what not for estimation of reading commitment
Its 11 issues which are like 20-25 pages each
About two volumes more or less
Its ongoing
Also it's monthly and not likely to end soon, they are very likely gonna run some of these books for years
Okay thanks
HoA ch 35 || epigraphs now feel like I am reading worlbuilding notes ||
If you ever wonder when something is dropping you can check solicits for the month
Okayy
Im gonna keep my eye out for absolute dc ||that ark M book because getting Scott on that and the horror artist from the deviant is literally peak||
HoA ch 38 || Now even some important mysteries are being answered in Epigraphs. Marsh's statement of why Seeker were especially important for Ministry and hencr Inquisitors answered through Epigraphs ||
absolute deadshot about to be a fuckin transformer 😭
Imagine one piece and MLP
MLP?
Yea MLP
My money is on a cyborg
Villains in this world just seem to be buffed in general in some way
What do I imagine next
MLP version of Franky where his torso is on the wrong side of the horse and his cutiemark is a can of coca cola, logo and everything
What's mlp
My little pony
Greatest fictional character of all time
Chill
Perfect excuse to go out to buy batbooks
Fuck no
ok chill bro..
oh wanze said it already
he knows whats up
Y'all's fav character have a "Psychology of [Character name]" book written?
Batman has
maybe a video essay
It’s so funny that Batman (and all comic book superheroes really) have like 10% of stuff worth reading and the rest is all poop from a butt
If you say so
the latter part is the issue
10% is just an extremely low percentage
Batman as a character is open to interpretation more than most cuz he's got such a strong foundation
One I definitely don't agree with
Everything from Adam West to The Batman to Absolute
So he'll always be cool and interesting
I am not saying every Batbook is perfect but there is a ton of good
Agreed with Bon
Hope we don't see the joker again for another 20 years tho he feels like a tumor on the series at this point
this is the case with all media. Batman just has so many series with different writers that its basically its own medium
As much as I love the Dark Knight, Ledger's Joker ruined Joker for a long time
in that sense
I understand, but I am saying in the realm of that medium as you say, saying only 10% is worth anything is pretty egregious imo
I dont agree
Then it is what it is
theres like 10 shitty manga for him in the past like 5 years alone
and thats just manga versions

Agree to disagree then I suppose
Batman is in like 10 books at any given time
They aren’t all good lol
I am not saying they are all good
I am saying if you have ten books and only one if them is good as you are saying, then I don't agree
I’m saying 90+ years of being in multiple books, with varying quality makes actual good Batman stuff rare
And I am saying it is not that rare
Okay well then you’re wrong lol
I think it's just semantics lol
Is all Batman stuff like, worth going out of your way to pursue?
No not at all lmao
10% feels accurate
But if you're into cape comics? There's a consistency to him that makes his stories always reliable and holds up the quality
Just depends how much you're into the DC universe
I read a lot of DC in highschool and now I barely pay attention unless it's something that's getting rave reviews
These are also both true
I am not even trying to say that anyone is being anything. In my personal opinion, 10% is low and I think Batman and the extended batfamily have a lot of good runs that deserve credit
I think 10% is just a low estimate of what is good
Oh IDK what the argument is I just wanted to say red and wanze are biased
I mean so am I, I have Batman Beyond on my pfp lol
I have no ill intent towards Red, Wanze, anyone else. I just think 10% is a little silly of a number
A show so good they made him canon in the comics
Ben Affleck batman better fr fr/s
Yeah what I meant was if you're the kinda person who isn't into superheroes but checks in for the super famous stories
Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, What Happened to the Caped Crusader, A Serious House on a Serious Earth, Year One, Long Halloween etc
The stuff that kinda rises above the genre
I get it
Been watching some of season 1 again, super great
And it's the fact batman can just be a dumb fun superhero comic but also occasionally reach those artistic heights, while also reconfiguring his universe for the current decade effortlessly, that makes him so special
I can agree with this sentiment
Mhm I agree there
batman is the best. That doesn't make him exempt from the way media be ass 90% of the time
theres a lot of subjectivity there obviously
but for manga for example, I'd even argue less than 10% is actually good lol
10 percent is wayy too high
given how much batman content there is
theres thousands upon thousands of issues
Whatever man. Read what ya wanna I guess. Anyway I got a foil number 1 of absolute batman for batday
Sick times
I just feel like you might be taking the comment too seriously? All the comics from batman you've expressed having read are ones Ive enjoyed too
but I tried random ones when I tried getting into batman a decade ago
and the ones I tried then, without guidance, were definitely ass
I tried reading the killing joke recently and cant finish it, Im getting bored even though its VERY short
I saw this badass batgirl cover and I considered reading it from that. I havent yet, because it seems to be considered generally ass
from online sources
the artist? Idk but based on this cover I do too
Nah the character lmao
Cassandra Cains my Batgirl
didnt even know there were multiple canon characters for batgirl tbh
There's 3 important ones yeah
It's a title
Cass is the coolest of the three but DC historically sucks at writing her
😔 rip
Cass is the one who had a full mask
she looks really cool
I think that's been fixed in recent years? But I don't read comics much anymore cuz money
She’s Asian and I think was part of the league of shadows?
And sometimes she’s mute?
Yeah Cass is the one who grew up mute and as an assassin so she covers her whole body and roams around like an actual demon
Her stories are usually about learning to be a human being
This is wild though
Are you reading the old print or the new one
Genuinely believe the coloring of that comic impacts its tone a LOT
And the new ones are way more muted and grounded
80s version is psychedelic like a fever dream
Superman 2025 - || some BTS i saw today ||
@foggy mirage @south hatch
Why is there always shit about the dcu
I genuinely hate whenever they reprint something and ruin the vibe
Why are they showing everything before the movies come out
This movie came out Cunk
ya this old
I'm seething
just part of directors cut
Absolute batman || what the fuck 😭||
its a little hardcover idk if its old or new
superman 2025 / man of tommorow || is this davids stunt double or like someone else ||
Superman 2025 || now thats him with a bald cap
||
someone help me unsee this please
LMAO
Superman 2025
|| https://vxtwitter.com/jose_pi20/status/1969475200732270772 ||
Directors cut ?
Theres a directors cut coming out ?
mistaken, not directors cut* more like part of the digital release BTS
Obviously that’s just an edit but just really can’t picture Hoult as Superman
Oh man i got excited
I think the movie could benefit from like 10-20 minutes extra
New
Killing Joke
Comparison of the original vs latest edition
I think Alan Moore himself hates the old coloring but it works so much better
oh yeahhh Id heard about this
you reading Absolute DC comics too Red ?
nah Ill read harsh's list first
So, what do you guys think of Knights of Guinevere?
Killing Joke ||I love how the original feels like a drug induced nightmare. The heightened reality, inability to tell the real world from farce, fits the exploration of the jokers psyche so well||
I was thinking the same thing
it's rated pretty high
but I have not seen it though ..
twd s6e13 || im so fucking obsessed with Carol man what a tank ass bitch ||
More of a ricky type of gal
A classic, good
Who wants to have a sigma call join other series call!
Sopranos S6 E20 ||they got Bobby
||
||SIL TOO FUCK||
I'm not ready for the last episode
Sopranos FINALE ||the finale left me a bit perplexed, did Tony like die on the spot? Especially since shortly after Bobby got wacked they showed his conversation with Tony about how it ends?||
I hate when they recolor stuff to make it look realistic
Sopranos FINALE ||I assume the writers didn't make it as obvious to leave it open to interpretation but I'm gonna go with Tony dying right there, even tho it's a bit morbid to think he died right in front of his family||
Now I can finally watch all the Sopranos videos I've been saving up on YouTube
Sopranos FINALE ||maybe the dude that went to the bathroom was actually a killer and shot Tony, who knows||
Sopranos FINALE ||I'm going with him dying on the spot because of a heart attack or something like that||
Either way, beautiful series, between exams and other stuff it took me almost 9 months to watch it all but I still enjoyed it a lot
Sopranos finale ||he died via gunshot, remember what he talked about with bobby "you never hear it coming." And the scene with Silvio when he's at dinner and Silvio doesnt hear it till the blood hits his face.||
Sopranos finale ||also remember what chrissy told Tony and Paulie. Watch out...3 o'clock. Thats the direction the members only guy went to. And where the bathroom was, where he likely got a gun out.Tony was always courting death, and it caught up to him.||
Sopranos finale ||he very likely could have saved some face if he changed post shooting. Everything he saw in that dream was very clearly real. The supernatural exists in sopranos. And he din't take any of these warnings seriously by the end. Remember he made fun of Paulie for seeing the virgin mary.||
Sopranos finale ||you could even argue the final scene takes place in hell. He relives his final moments over and over dying infront of his family. The same way chrissy talked about how in hell they kill you over and over and it always hurts. The way he looks at the bench he's gonna sit. And it cuts out as meadow comes in.||
Sopranos finale ||Incase you need to see why I said 3 O clock||
@south hatch watched the first episode of sandmen, it is pretty good!!
Yeah fuck you Wanze and Red I don’t give a shit, Batman is the greatest character in fiction deal with it
Fed is that you
I was a DW fan before fed could even speak
I put you on pal
Lmao
DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN EP 1
||they did the stupid completely wrong defibrillator thing where someone with no pulse comes back to life?? oh my god this has to have been a joke or something, they study blood spatter analysis and then do a Hollywood hospital revival scene??||
Spidey clears I’m afraid
So I read 8 issues of ultimates 2024 and one issue of absolute batman
I think absolute has way more going for it lmao
Ultimates is aight
Hickman is kind of a hit or miss for me
Why did you start with that
Read Ultimate Invasion first
And then Ultimate Universe
Then jump into the titles
goro lore
Just jump in directly for those
^^
Ive heard its bad so not surprised ig lol. Ill still read it eventually
That's why I've put it off but a friend of mine went through it recently and I'm like
Fine I'll do it so we can talk
Living up (?) to my expectations I guess.
what
sí
Absolute Batman 3 || Mullock turned
||
It’s bad lmao
First looks at absolute calendar man
Half the Picture’s guest this episode is the legendary Grant Morrison — the award-winning comic book writer behind such classics as Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Invisibles, New X-Men, WE3 and Animal Man.
Grant joined us primarily to chat about their work on the iconic All-Star Superman that redefined the Man of Steel for the 21st Century and...
Sopranos finale ||yeah that's likely what happened but I like how it's basically up to interpretation||
I'm feeling that post-series void hard rn
I think I'll watch the Chernobyl series next since it's pretty short, after that idk
I was thinking Bojack Horseman, Modern Family or Arcane
I'm open to suggestions tho
Or I could watch some movies, I wanted to watch all the Star Wars movies since I never watched them
Or the LOTR trilogy
This is such a diverse selection lol. If u decide to watch star wars, watch andor as well. Probably one of the best shows to have come out in recent years
Noted, thank you
have you watched Mission Impossible Franchise Johto?
I haven't
They great
Noted this too, thank you
extended cut u mean
Just start at the number 1 for any of those
peter jackson recommends the theatrical one i think
Extended is peak
Plus he'll get cool lore
Has some extra context
Plus its not like he has to see them back to back
i think fellowship is better in extended, two towers theatrical and return of the king extended
He clearly wants something lengthy to watch
yea i think its basically what the expectations are. as movies, theatrical cuts are better but fans prefer extended because more content.
cant go wrong with either
Id say go for extended still
Feels grand af that way
Get some grub to munch on through it
The new Superman movie is not so good
Why
We didnt watch the same movie then at all
Ive watched it twice in two days, it's an awesome time for me
New superman is great
A little bloat and some pacing problems but those are nitpicks in something that's otherwise a blast and completely salvaged a dying brand
that's a Win buddy.
i can feel the peak
now binge on entire s1 quickly
TRVTHNUKE
yup i have got no plans today its binging time
~~It's great but it felt like a combination of first ep of a series and a movie ~~
plus u got s2 waiting in line too and it's fully out.

Superman 2025 ||it feels like a miniseries of comics yeah. I actually like that
Superhero movies regularly get bogged down by trying to turn a single plan, a single villain, into a 120 minute origin story. These golden age characters are made for smaller scale ones with a large ensemble cast. Bringing them through multiple episodes and encounters with a throughline to tie it all together is I think the BEST route you could take for a Superman movie
I just think that sci-fi Hades prison takes too long when it's the least interesting section of the movie and pulls it away from a lot of its core cast||
Superman 2025/Man of Tomorrow speculation||I agree with Bon, I think the pocket dimension prison was a bit long. I don't overly mind it because Mr. Terrific was heavily involved in saving Superman from it. However, there is something I find interesting. Lex is supposedly going to be a focal point and a team up character of Man of Tomorrow. I want to see how Gunn is able to make this dude a protagonist you can root for. He created a whole military conflict that resulted in a lot of damage, unknown how many deaths, traitor to his country because he is envious of Superman, tortured Krypto, and to top it off dude straight up mruked a very innocent dude who did nothing but help Superman out of a crater he got thrown into. There is more but that's kinda where I am like wondering how Gunn redeems Lex or if he even tries to. It may not matter if it ends up that Braniac is in town||
Superman 2025/man of tomorrow || I don't think he needs to be redeemed. It's just gonna be a greater threat for which utilizing him would be better for Earth ||
Superman/Man of Tomorrow||from what I read from Gunn's comments, it seems like Lex is a very big focal point. Said that the story is much a Lex one as a Superman one. So, I don't know how you go about that if Lex is still hated in audience's minds. Well I hate him anyway. I am interested to see what happens||
||I would say in Superman itself it was kinda like a Lex and a Superman movie than just superman movie || superman 2025
Superman 2025, finally saw it ||Just a fantastic film. It made me feel all good inside; what a wonderful take on Superman being, well, the positive and uplifting character he's known as in so many people's minds. 10/10 scene was when Lois and Superman were talking before he turned himself in while Green Lantern and co. were just beating the shit out of an alien light show the entire time. Supergirl's actress being from House of the Dragon makes me very excited for her movie.||
Feel bad for the people that din't enjoy superman
Because DC is fully back
Next up is supergirl and then clayface
Ngl clayface has me in a chokehold
I need to see that
Fan question from Worldcon 2025 regarding ASOIAF (no story spoilers) ||There's being an asshole, and there's whatever this guy decided to be.||
They were both on the same panel when the question was asked.
Goddamn
Brandon sanderon finishing asoiaf would be terrible
Like it would be better if it wasnt finished rather than brando finishing it
twd s7e3 || we're on easy street.............. and it feels so sweet................... ||
Absolute batman ||you better prepare for extreme stuff this run.||
Absolute martian manhunter ||its so peak 😭 god i love how insane the white martian is.||
Excited for both. I. Love. Clayface
Feat of Clay part 2 is a TOP TIER episode of btas
He doesn't fit Martin's style
He worked well for Wheel of Time
You're in luck Mike Flanagan said he was inspired by that ep
When he wrote the script
I need this to be just a complete break down of hagan as a person
@south hatch @frank rivet holy shit he responded so fast
He did not want a single person to watch that shit
😭
Finished the first absolute batman arc
I want them to be brave about it
Cool stuff
Its rated R
So dont have to worry about that
My guess is clayface is gonna murder a lot of people
It needs to be highlighted
Honestly the one that I'm willing to bet will suprise people the most
Besides a super girl movie kicking ass
BTAS ||When they pour the chemicals into his mouth in feat of clay and he melted and all that in the car?? Chills for a kids show||
I hope it's awesome and I have faith in Supergirl
It's based off Woman of Tomorrow
Its based on woman of tomorrow so yeah
And that's cool as shit
1000%
Like Hagan needs to be dehumanized
Completely
Starts as a likable and charming guy
The actor for clayface has been reading comics where he shows up
I agree. The actor part really would go far in that
And clayface bad day
I actually need to read Clayface's bad day
I own the box set but haven't gotten to it
I read Killing Joke and Riddler's
No worries I know
We on the same page
I already know if the movie does well
They will suddenly start using clayface
Way more in the comics
😭
Which good he deserves it
Clayface and Scarecrow are two that def need more spotlight and interesting writers behind them
Im still so suprised the 3rd movie in the dcu
Is clayface
And its gonna show off gotham
I want clayface to have scenes at amusement mile ngl
Ace chemicals is a given
just for clarification btw, wasnt clayface originally supposed to be elseworld? When did that change?
Makes me happy. Ive long preferred DC to Marvel so it's cool to see positive momentum for DC
One James gunn liked the script

They decided to use it in the dcu
Backstory for clayface
Who is in the dcu
We've seen him already
Gunn proved his mettle imo so if he likes it
ye in the cartoon or w/e
Then I am good to give it a chance
Clayface would never work in reeves verse
Unless you do the first version
And id rather not
That and I like his work a lot anyway so maybe I am biased
The Guardians movies were always super fun
Clayface is a story that can easily work
In live action
Specially with sfx as it is these days
Tbh most of Batman works in live action
And prosphetics
The only one that might be hard is man bat maybe ?
He doesnt really carry a movie
I think it's possible but yeah he needs to be secondary
Clayface has the advantage of having a good backstory
On Leather Wings is great and the 2004 The Batman Man Bat episode is good but unfortunately Man Bat isn't deep enough for a full movie
But he is a fun villain
I love creature featurues
Features*
Even if it was a different origin
Yeah I loved that version
My guess is they combined basil karlo and matt hagan for the dcu
The Batman 2004 ||it was a good way to take the spirit of two face since they weren't allowed to use Dent||
Famous actor gets disfigured
Most likely
My guess is via a gangster
Clayface isn't related to Matt Reeves stuff is he
I figured its matt hagan but with basil backstory
Nah Gunn confirmed dcu
He's producing it
Interesting
I love his take on the Batman stuff
I wouldn't be suprised if he does the question
Even if I am a little tired of grounded batman
I mean dint reeves do the penguin
😭
Gunn and him seem to have a good working relationship
Yehh
I thought itd just be a one off not in either
Did you see Gunn is actually involved with the Lego Legacy of the Dark Knight game?
It was pretty early on they said it would be dcu
Reeves was there with James for the casting
Reeves just seems to be involved with batman stuff regardless if its dcu or crime saga
Dude being so open and in front with everything. DC picked the right dude
Id rather he's constantly answering questions
And keeping us updated
Than radio silence
Yeh I love it
If this works i think the variety of dcu movie
Is gonna expand
We legit might see more horror themed stuff
I think it's gonna be expansive. I don't think it's gonna be like the MCU
Lower budget stuff with more experimental stuff
Which btw, I don't hate the MCU. I have criticisms of it still but warmed up to some stuff
Super cape shit number 45
I'm hyped for Spiderman 4
If its good
I am too
Doomsday eeeeeh
I feel dcu won't be pigeon held
Like mcu became
Where they spammed you
With content
It seems 2 movies and a show
Is the standard
Superman has way more staying power
This year its peacemaker
That and it doesn't seem like you have to watch tv show after movie connecting all of it
I watched that multiple times and while I liked F4, I'll probably never watch it again
Lanterns I am excited for
Good lantern content
I am hoping itll be a fun watch
In my lifetime
It looked fun at least
😭
Literally just watching peacemaker because I enjoy it
Not a big Ryan Reynolds lantern fan??
I think it's very likely Lanterns is really good if you look at all the people working on it. I'm just worried about how much actual Green Lantern stuff we see in the show.
That suit was U G L Y
I'm in heaven
The only official look we have at it is 2 normal guys walking down a dirt road
Actually it's not a dirt road but there's dirt everywhere else
Doubt they'll show us the big stuff
Till a trailer
I did not enjoy any of that suit
Me either
Why did they make Oa so ugly
Wanna see some funny shit
Like holy shit
Gimme a sec
Its supposed to look nice
Would be cracked af if Gunn gets the millers to do that batman beyond movie
After the next spider movie
God that would rule
Would be hilarious if we get dynamic duo
Terry McGinnis deservs his day
I want to see my guy on the big screen. It's a shame that DC has acted like Beyond doesn't exist
It either gets relegated to elseworld
I'll take elseworld
Or sometimes the actual dc future
Just give me something
I remember we had a run where Terry met modern day Bruce
yeah I think gunn just trusts his eye after The Batman was so... batman. Lol.
I guess he figures might as well get the guy's input on stuff
He just seems very willing to collaborate
It also seems to help that Gunn doesnt really seem abrasive to work with.
I think dcu batman is gonna rock so I'm not worried
Terry could very well have a future in that
You think richtson or whatever his name is gets that cowl
Booster Gold hype
Also 3 lanterns
my irl friend wants ritchson to be batman but I dont see it
I can see it but idk if he's my first choice
Don't think it'll be him
Momoa as Lobo is the only thing I really wanna see
This casting is gonna be just as important if not more than wonder woman
The rest I'll leave to Gunn
I need someone who can actually act for wonder woman
Like holy shit
😭
Don't do a gal again
Kal-el noo
Thats confirmed
Good
So we good on that
Momoa fits Lobo VERY well
Momoa was screaming like crazy about it
Always was a head scratcher that he was tapped for Aquaman
Jason Momoa didn't originally think that he would land the role of #Aquaman! See the story of how he got cast, and watch his final performance in #AquamanAndTheLostKingdom now available on Vudu. #shorts
► Watch on Vudu: https://www.vudu.com/content/browse/details/Aquaman-and-the-Lost-Kingdom/2881570?cmp=Vudu_YouTube_Desc
Watch the full in...
Even he thought that shit was so random
😭
Because it's fucking weiiird lmao
Ive not seen anything from momoa that made me feel like he was a solid actor
He will work as Lobo
Lobo doesn't require anything crazy
he has the look thats really it for me
He acts like him too
Which is uncanny
If he can't portray Lobo, then he had no business acting ever
Yeh
its less about typecast and more about acting chops in general
comic books are also inherently often times more simple in their portrayal of characters from my experience so far. More straightforward
live action a bit diff
Im also just a momoa hater
Lobo wouldn't have like
Anything more than a secondary antagonist role anyway
Also yeah I doubt he's the main
I love Lobo but he isn't carry a movie material
I am not worried about the super girl movie tbh
Overly carried by him
I wouldn't worry on that one
Woman of Tomorrow as the basis is good shit
Clayface is likely safe so long as the promotion is good
The biggest one im worried about is swamp thing and batman
Swamp Thing is going to be interesting
Pattison is getting his 2nd movie
They are still writing brave and the bold
Then my guess is casting and production
My guess is for sure horror themed
pattinson sequel, and script for dcu batman still in the works
is gunn just in charge of it all?
Yes but he is letting Reeves do his thing afik
He's letting reeves do what he wants
yeah. Hes in charge of DC movies now. Even the ones that arent in the DCU
No reason to mess with the guy's vision
ty for no merge 🙏
but if the cinematographer isnt coming back 😔
The run i hope the swamp thing movie takes from
Battinson wouldnt really work imo with Cornswet's Superman anyway
I think it'll at least inspire it
Very likely and red hood
And red robin
Lfg
Nightwing is a big win
guess gunn doesn't see a way to bring them in without starting with them. Origins for all of them would be tough to match the timeline of other non batman movies
It would take
Way too many movies
And way too much time
I dont want to wait 6 years
To see nightwing
😭
Or red hood
Just start with Damian have us learn his history from there
yeah
I see a lot of people upset by it, but I think people are just used to EVERY batman movie being "early years" or origin stories
We've only had early years or old ass man
Thats it
😭
Never in the middle of his career
Most people watching these likely already know about these characters
maybe get a different director tho lowkey...
We have to see how it shakes out
They might end up switching
Or he might lock in for brave and the bold
The flash was just cursed
My guess is nightwing will be in titans
which never was actually made
"On January 8, 2025, ten years after the last official update, Muschietti gave a comment regarding the project to Radio TU, a radio station from his home country. Muschietti told the station that the film wasn't abandoned, and that there exists a script that he likes. However, no studio has picked up the project, as the director requested a funding of 200 million dollars to start it.[8] "
Shadow of the collosus movie is crazy
I kinda hope not. Id love a movie in Blüdhaven
I mean that can still happen even if he hangs with the titans
We also know bludhaven
Is in the dcu
They mentioned it twice
I doubt hed be IN the titans
Yeah but Id like a solo venture but that's fine
he can just show up
I wonder if we'll see bludhaven in Reeves verse
The Batman || didnt catwoman say she was going there?||
I mean this iteration lmfao
I assumed itd be dick
Have him being recruited by the titans or something or like the beginnings of it
wait oh
Yeah dick = nightwing, Jason = red hood and tim = red robin
I still think Red Robin is a lame name
Red robin is crazy
But idk what else youd do
you can tell Ive never read or watched anything with nightwing.
I guess I shouldve remembered arkham knight tbh
That too lmao
There's so many cool Batfamily names Red Robin is so ass
Beat you up and give you a burger
Red Robin is like Batman ran outta names to give
I do think max in the dcu batman movie we'll get maybe batgirl in some form
Alfred is a given
Don't give me that bullshit
That he's dead
I wont stand for that
I know people are hoping for a super beefy muscular batman but I hope they dont get ridiculous with it by hiring some roid taker
"You're huntress. You nightwing, ofc batgirl, robin
Uhm. You're RED robin, Tim"
red robins are real 😔
Mario and Green Mario ah
Depends for me
isnt that the point?
A little muscle wouldn't hurt
I want blue tho
Enough with these dark ass outfits
Put him in dark blue and gray
To an extent. I just think it diluted Tim's identity
the batman has the absolute best batman outfit out of any of the movies but yeah do blue
Matt Fraction Batman color scheme would be sick
I like dark blue batman
I think it looks better in artwork though, just cause they can make the cape cover it in more flattering ways
It would differentiate him well too
It can work in live action too
Just make it a bit darker
Just don't do Bale's batman suit, I love those movies but that may be one of my least favorite's
btw I recently discovered the show reeves was going to do that follows a bad cop as the protagonist that goes through the gotham times while gordon joins the force and while Im glad that transformed into The Penguin down the line, I actually hope we STILL get that eventually.
I need to see Gordon being as badass as Year One
It should be different enough you can visualize it apart from battison
Hell no
bale's batman in general is very weak on rewatch imo lol
and his bruce
quite frank
What Gunn said so far
On the matter of a batsuit
He dint flame the color
Just the obliques
Like I saiad
Said
I love the movies
But Bale is not the reason lol
ye
Dark Knight is still an all time classic. Begins is better than I remembered. Rises may be worse than I remembered
my irl friend is very clearly like, obsessed with the nolan trilogy as his definitive depiction of both batman and bruce.
So he compares everything batman he sees to that, and defines batman as being how bale portrays him.
Begins pisses me off most. That portrayal of scarecrow is garbage
That. Really blows.
I can understand Conroy
But Bale??
Dark Knight still good to me but not as good as I remembered.
Begins was worse than I remembered.
Rises is hot trash
it was his first experience with batman and he only knows anything else about batman through
tiktoks or the grape vine
To be fair animated batman
That suckssssssss omg
Slaps way too hard
To the point arkham
Is literally just btas
Batman in game form
Down to the joker
I dont really agree lol
I think its got similarities but I just dont agree theyre THAT similar
I mean the stories were written by Dini
Dog Paul dini
Wrote arkham asylum
That's pretty BTAS
I didnt say he didnt
They aren't 1 to 1 but the ideas are there
you can write something from the same IP that is different than another work you did within that IP
Also why did my Spotify fry my ears with country music for the last 3 mins
Holy shit
😭
I think the voice does the heavy lifting for the "similarities"

Me personally asylum fits perfectly as a btas episode
By city you can say they split apart more
Asylum, if you toned some stuff down, would be a great btas movie
But I still feel that btas spirit
Yeah btas gets pretty dark
Like the phantom movie
Enjoyed that a lot
Mask of the Phantasm is just Noir bliss
Compared to the usual affair
It's not disturbing, it's just good ass noir
It was just great noir
maybe compared to usual btas
but its not dark like
in general
it just has more death?
I guess
from gamecube?
idk if there are any great licensed games back then but Im sure with a tinge of batman bias it can be fun
in the same way like
pirate warriors CAN be

Id say its actually good ngl
It and the sequel
Bale had one game
I believe
It wasnt every good
Asylum really raised the bar
yo
ps2-ps3 era was PLAGUED by the obsession with making
live action movies
into licensed games
instead of doing their own iteration
it was fun in the raimi spiderman ones but that was NOT because of the story or characters
it was just fun to play
The raimi spidey games were peak for me tbh
peak is crazy..
