I can say at the least, the one thing out of this movie that I really liked out of its slow build up of characters was the dad’s speech to her daughter at the end about moving on and the scenes that come after that. It really resonated with me. The rest of the movie I find kinda meh.||

Threat felt very real the early game is so rough it had me doubting they'd win in the end. It goes so bad as soon as the alarm is raised. Villian is great, executing people in the beginning, looting people who rose up to fight for him. Protaganists Never felt cheap or magic the cops did great in situations where I would expect them to like hand to hand but struggled in disadvantaged positions like being shot at from the high ground. The innocent civ gofar getting involved managed to ratchet up already very high tension. Only complaint is second in command loyal guy felt a little magic. 2v1 for so long and even kept going a bit after being stabbed in the neck ||

dr who 2023 || I'm just really really glad we are going back to resolving the Doctor Donna stuff, not actually sure how she and her daughter let go of the metacrisis thingy but just glad to have her back, her return was perfect and she's as great as ever. And so is Tennant! Its been so long but he still slid into the role so smoothly again and was just brilliant. This is like one of those episodes that just has you smiling throughout the entire thing, the humour is on point, the goat Doctor/Companion dynamic is back and we have a silly cute but evil creature as the villain ||

dr who 2023 ||also really like the new tardis design, its very reminiscent of the OG design with the white color scheme but a lot bigger and expansive, really loved that scene too||

Finished Solaris yesterday and Raiders of the Lost Ark today.

Solaris ||I found this movie to be pretty boring until the third act, when the alien girl and the others starting getting into the meat of the movie, that being Hari questioning her existence and humanity. It had an interesting way of exploring that, but not to a point where I thought it was thought-provoking. meh. ||

Indiana Jones Raiders Ark ||This was fun and surprisingly unhinged. It's just a nice and tightly paced film of shitty people going after a sacred treasure and the whole ride is fun. The pacing and amount of interesting things going on kept my attention throughout the whole movie. I liked it.||

I dont get the progression of homeless drunk ->random guy at memorial -> part of an elite squad. He is hardly a character. He has 2 lines. Same with the other elite squad members except for the girl. I feel like there are a few handwavey things like this. The season is still overall good so far, but it just feels messier than s1 atm. ||

It does feel very fast paced though, Im not a big fan of how much Noxus stuff they're tacking on with Ambessa and the Black Rose, the caitvi stuff is ResidentSleeper but everything else has been pretty cool, all the jinx, jayce and viktor stuff has been excellent. This arcane thing they've found/interacted with at the bottom of the hexgate can open a big can of worms i feel so im hoping they dont let it kinda mess with the rest of the plot points ||

arcane s2 ep 3 || there were a lot of scenes that were just basically random montage youtube videos too, which I don't think were effective at all. Like, it was their way of showing time passed but everything was really abstract with no backgrounds etc. It was a little silly to me and every time it happened I was taken out of it. I pretty much didn't like any of the scenes where the background disappears into a grey void and its just the characters, either. ||

Being locked in the walk-in cooler for this long is lowkey funny but also terrible for his mental well-being. He feels like he failed everyone and his trauma working at those high-class restaurants are eating away at every tiny bit of growth he's made ever since Mikey died.

Hell, Ritchie took Carmy's beratment like a champ (while also went a bit into his own feelings). Tina was so confused at why Carmy was beating on himself so much because she's never seen this side of him. Nobody in The Bear has seen this side of him. And it is manifesting while Syd is struggling to handle the pressure of this soft-open.

Carmy's so bogged down with the details and he continues to beat himself for missing the bigger picture or fucking calling Tony to fix the freezer. He's a great worker bee but idk if he's able to see the bigger picture rn. Sydney is doing the opposite, she sees the big picture but gets overwhelmed at the execution at times (like when she was expediting)....I hate this show sometimes man it's like looking in a freaking mirror. There are a lot of time at work where you're taking too much ownership that you end up not being able to complete anything 100%.....perfection will eventually kill any enthusiasm you have on a project.

The more I think about it, Ritchie is the MVP this season, only second to Claire and Pete (watching him talk to his mother-in-law and his wife was so good).||

Arcane S2E2 and S2E3 ||For those having issues with Viktor leaving Jayce too fast, keep in mind that they were already divided when Viktor went to see Singed while Jayce had set up the blockade and Viktor actually saw blueprints for Caitlyn's rifle as soon as he woke up. There's reason to believe he has lost of his humanity but this probably just pushed the line. Also, the Black Rose isn't directly hinted at in S1 but we did have a line about Ambessa and Mel having a relative get killed in some questionable circumstances.||

I was having a discussion about movie piracy recently. A group of friends of mines generally pirate a lot, and they recently pirated The Wild Robot to go see it. I shared an opinion that I disliked that they did that because that could've been watched through buying digitally or watching it in theaters, especially in recent times when animation studios are shutting down. Cause Wild Robot was gonna be Dreamwork's last in-house animation movie.

They argued that the box office money doesn't help artists/animators, but rather most of it goes to corporation staff. And I thought that that logic was strange, even if it is true.
