I just feel like it covers a topic too complex to be properly depicted in a kid's film, and so all the contrivances end up hollow and give the watcher a sort of uncanny valley of feeling where experience is too distilled. other pixar films dont do this cause the feelings discourse is veneered by whatever the hell, which makes them at least palatable and interesting sometimes

like wall-e which is the best pixar film by a margin

so the discourse that comes with inside out confuses me

I get that the point is to show MM's poor leadership compared to Butcher's, by showing us how unfocused everyone is on the task at hand. But idk, everything here feels really abrupt. Hopefully this all pays off later, but knowing their plan is to end the series with season 5, this feels like time wasted. ||
