I think Ncuti was outstanding, this episode showed pretty much all sides to the Doctor, including the serious side and it seems like Ncuti can pull that off easily. Not to mention the man is overflowing with rizz 🥵.
I thought I’d be more annoyed by the goblins than I was, but they were fine, and the musical number was pretty good too. Seems like all these new threats that don’t really follow the same rules as the rest of the universe are the overarching threat of this season, I guess these goblins were probably let in by the salt in Wild Blue Yonder too?
Also the woman who dropped off Ruby is definitely gonna be important later.
I like ruby too, she’s charming.

When the Doctor says "Maybe I'm the bad luck," because he realises he is the one allowing the goblins to slip through. The timeline stuff has been so frail recently with the "mavity" ordeal and what not.

The scene with the church is also gonna be revisited a lot in the next series (there is footage that was shot that was not in the ep), so it might be that the Doctor perhaps wanted to know about Ruby's parents (timeless child ptsd) so he went there, and he chose not to once he went back to save Ruby because he realised he caused that

Additionally, Mrs Flood is either acting like she doesn't know the TARDIS at the start (unlikely), or it was caused by another time the Doctor caused trouble in the timelines. There is a line she says about it being 50 years since she saw a police box, so whatever is related to that is caused by something related to roughly 50 years ago
This might be something that happened at that time (related to the Beatles ep maybe? But their breakup was in 1970) or some companion/villain from 1973 Doctor Who ||

Leave the world behind ||it's so frustrating a film because there's some really good shit in there. It's just got really ass conclusions to all the tense shit and is overall way to fucking long. With the titles and like chapter format it genuinely feels like a 6 episode TV show they cut down to 2.30hrs. Also I know what they were trying and going for with the ending but it boiling down to "guy finally states an exact plan he had known the entire film he just didn't want to state it" is lame. ||

LtWB ||Yeah I basically feel the same way. It succeeded at making me feel eerily tense at times but it just goes nowhere. Like, “oh shit, what’s going to happen … oh” and yeah that’s actually what I was thinking too. The ending where he’s talking about 3 step plan to bring America down would have been better suited like halfway through the movie. I know they were going for “the audience doesn’t explicitly see what’s happening to the country and it’s up to them to imagine” but yeah, him saying that at the end just felt kind of satirical almost lol. ||

Cr c3 || Also, I love how Matt has intertwined all of the characters backstories with each other so most of the cast is involved all the time ||

Cr c3/c2 || I feel with C2 there was a little bit of an imbalance there especially early on where it felt like there were times when too much focus and time was being spent on a single character. Like early c2 i remember we spent forever on fjord and ukatoa while the rest were just kinda tagging along and stuff ||

Cr c3/e2 || Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad or anything by any means, but this just feels so much more cohesive ||
