I said it with the roof fight. Both Luffy and Kid got completely dicked on by Kaido. Luffy went the route of learning some new type of haki that'd allow him to break through Kaido's defence, while Kid thought of different ways to use his DF to break through kaido's defence. Same conclusion, different methods.
Kid is definitely more DF focused compared to Luffy
so him using awakening or new application of his DF would be good here. and yeah, CoCting the next time we see him after he learns it's possible seeing Luffy do it.

I think Law is always going to be strategic, so he's probably going to try and figure out the underlying reason behind BM's toughness and try and exploit it. It's why previously, I expected Law to be the one to point out that Kaido's scar represent a weaker area of skin and it should be where they attack.
