@eager bloom i only now saw the AC character

the reason the hand looks off is because the blade indicates the shape of the whole "forearm", like, where the center of the forearm is

now if the center is there

then the hand is really misplaced

so what you need to do is twist the hand so that it fits the forearm with the blade being there

or move the blade to fit the hand

overall the hand is fine, though, i think i could nitpick like the pinky is probably too short, but for your artstyle it's more than anatomically correct enough

it's just the whole angle of the forearm/hand that makes it looks strange

if you're going to have the hand twist like that, then the whole forearm and even elbow

needs to show that L shape

anyway this drawing is really great, i love the perspective and the expression, everything is great

one thing i will say, this isn't necessarily a mistake, but it's necessary for you to mature as an artist: you're treating the whole torso as one stiff shape, there should be a clearer curve from the upper torso to where the body connects with the pants, right now it looks too much like two separate parts. (again, this isn't really a mistake, it's totally nitpicking, but realistically twisting torsos is one of the things that makes/breaks certain poses)

also there is nothing i want more than to touch your characters' hair, they're so fluffy

I got a new mechanical pencil that is 0.7 mm in lead-size, so i had to try it

i need them to be as small as possible

but it doesnt raelly matter since i erase the pencils anyway i guess

I used to be like that, but now i am starting to sketch more losely and the thicker lead is helping me.

i am very particular about the nibs and ink

but for pencils (again, since they get erased), i dont give a shit at all

i do have a preference for thinner mechanical pencils just because it's easier to go over them accurately with the ink

and i find that my style grants itself to more precise lines

and doesn't benefit from imprecision

some people can draw things really sketchy and it looks great, like the Tokyo Ghoul kind of stuff

But my style kinda relies on erasing the pencil after inking...

Any ink-pen would do. Are you thinking a "proper" dip-pen or a more convenient ink-pen?

I am a big fan of these and use them often. They are not super expensive (i think, they were a gift)

I would also recommend Pigma Micron's from Sakura. They are a bit more expensive, but they are really good.

As I said on time, I never do sketches. I draw directly on the right paper with the 0.5 HB pencil from Steadler, then, I ink my first features in black felt, Rex Fineliner 0.4, It's beastly beasts that my mom bought at the supermarket, and then I with professional alcohol markers, the "Promarkers", they are expensive but the result is worth it! the final step, I sometimes use the Uni Posca White to illuminate the character.

well, i dont hate it, but sketching is the part where you make all the mistakes and you can't finish it until you're OK with them

i much prefer inking

there's no thought and you get to just focus on trying to make pretty lines

i mean i dont dislike it when it's just a casual thing, then you can be a lot more zen about the mistakes and treat them as farts in the wind

but when you're doing the pencils for a serious drawing

that's the most anxiety-inducing part of drawing for me
