there's not much to improve on that drawing other than making your outlines more alive

you could possibly put the right leg a little further to the right, maybe it'll be more symmetrical

This is a complicated subject. Probably widening the shoulders to give a more dynamic shape to the creature might help. But more than anything, grab a book on human anatomy or find charts and other references of human anatomy online to apply to this creature since that's what it most closely resembles. Anatomy is hard. Plain and simple. The more you do it, the better you get. Try drawingn the creature from multiple angles, too. Front and center views are always going to limit you.

Also, any tips to draw gore? It's for studies. Not for something degenerate 'n stuff. It's for zombies and creatures with exposed inner parts. Creatures from a game i like.

Look at real gore

That's the answer I'm always going to give you.

Drawing from real world reference and looking at how other artists have drawn the same thing is what will help most.

If I had to draw gore for a client, I would look up images of roadkill or something online and copy what the real world shows me.

If you want to stylize the gore, you would need to analyze the style of an artist you like and imagine how they might draw gore.

Details are a case by case scenario. You have to look out for your details becoming too much and looking like a giant mush of value ("shading" to use a better term).

Basically

If your details are so intense they get confused with shading, then you've gone too far. There needs to be enough white space for the details to breathe.

there was a time I didn't know either. The only way I could learn was by doing, sadly. That was something my teachers slammed into me over and over. And it worked.

Here is an example of too much detail from the Art of Final Fantasy IX, with little to no variations in line width to show distance and variation to give the eye a place to "rest" (which means a place for the eye to relax and enjoy the focal point of the piece).

As for the detail I put in my own work: look at the foreground area with Momo and notice how much more detail I have in his jacket vs Zoro in the midground and then Akainu in the distance. There is still mild detail. But it's generally reduced.

The foreground was done with a 20 sized brush with an extreme taper on it. The midground and background was a 10 size with extreme taper. However, that's only 'cause the canvas is 6000 pixels wide. If it was 15,000 pixels wide I'd be using a much bigger brush to account for the pixel density. Brush size is dictated by pixel density in digital pieces normally.

When you crosshatch everywhere it can actually flatten your art. If you’ve never done it before before it’s very common to do the way you did it. I did the exact same thing starting out with ink

3-point means you are intentionally making all of your vertical lines go to a 3rd vanishing point usually off-screen to suggest looking up or down at something (i.e. worm's eye view and bird's eye views). Technically, the real world is ALWAYS in 3-point perspective, but your eyes don't really always notice it.

this would be an orthographic view to give you an idea why the tower goes to its own VP. it's turned in space. and all parallel lines go to their own VP. The buildings are all parallel going to the main VP near the center. But the water tower is going to a different VP because its parallel lines are turned.

I used the round brush in PS and set it to have a specific spacing and made one vertical line. And then duplicated that line. I could've just grabbed a texture but I was trying something very specific.

And then I transformed the pattern I made to fit the perspective and played with both color of dots and the layer setting.
