SleepingServerStarter plugin Help please.

I need help with setting up a plugin named SleepingServerStarter to my root/host provider files, the issue lies in that i cannot add it without getting bugs and weird stuff happening to my server, there is a guy that has a video on this but its 5 years old and is using plugins in a folder on a computer, I'm using a host provider with help of PaperMC or Paper instead so its complicated. I've tried myself for 2 days to figure this s%#& out. So if any mods/staff knows or a random user knows, please take a second to help, would be appreciated really!

With hosting providers, you must work inside their environment, and the plugin must integrate with their start-up system — which is where the problems usually come from.

SleepingServerStarter has very strict version compatibility.

You MUST download the version that matches your Paper version.
Using the wrong one = the plugin loads incorrectly, crashes, or keeps restarting the server.

Host should give you a file manager or FTP access.

you should upload the JAR file to /plugins

sleepingServerStarter tries to shut down your server and restart it when players join, but hosting providers rarely allow plugins to stop/start servers directly.

This causes ->infinite restarts
servers freezing
"ghost offline” states
config not applying

You MUST enable your host’s "Auto-Restart / Auto-Start" feature

Open -> /plugins/SleepingServerStarter/config.yml
The most important setting for hosted servers is:
shutdown-on-empty: true and start-when-player-joins: true

Some hosts use a custom port like 25584.
If you leave it default when your server uses a different port → players can’t wake the server.

this is some problem

❌ Wrong plugin version
→ Config won’t generate, server error spam.
❌ Host blocks server stop/start
→ Server stuck in loop, appears “offline”.
❌ Wrong port set in config
→ Players can’t bring the server online.
❌ Using /reload
SleepingServerStarter must be used with /restart, not /reload.
❌ Running with other sleep/afk/startup plugins
These conflict and break everything.

Just let me know — I’ll get this solved for you.
