#Can't allow PVP in MV Arena world

I'm having an issue getting PVP working in the arena on my SMP. We use PVPManager, but this plugin is disabled in the Arena world.

PVP is enabled in WG flags for the global region - there are 2 other regions which overlap but none have PVP flag set
I have checked and enabled PVP in all config files incl. Essentials (which is ofc false).
PVP functions correctly in other worlds

I run /wg testdamage name and am told the damage was blocked by WorldGuard

  • I have tried creating a single region that covers the whole arena world, expanding vertically, setting it's priority to 5, and allowing PVP - still same result.
  • I have tried removing all regions, except for 1 with PVP allowed, still same result.
  • There is a roof on the arena made of barrier blocks, when standing on those above the arena players are able to fight -- even though they are still in the same region (this makes zero sense at this point)
  • Admins are able to be hit - but cannot hit back

this issue has haunted me for 2 weeks now and I just cannot figure it out...all help/suggestions seriously appreciated

Have you tried Ultra Regions? just saying it gives you a visual border with gui to manage all of that it was an amazing switch from multiverse plugin j/s idk if that helps but should look into it
