#MySQL/MariaDB deployment issues? With LuckPerms

So i selfhost ptero and mariadb, on ubuntu20 for 4 years now, and have always ran luckperms but only recently been getting this error on all my servers that use luckperms with mariadb
So far ive done:

  • Lowered max Lifetime
  • Changed Max connections
  • Reinstall/update mariadb

The reason im asking here is because countless people have had the issue and as far as i can see every reply just tells to essentially change maxlife and that its not an LP issue.
Which is fine, thats posted here because ive run out of ideas, anyone have any ideas :)

ive also seen some people share that they have had these issues because of limited resources, but that shouldnt be an issue as when this also happens when my server is essentially idle, with atleast 4gb of ram free

Assuming you are using the right credentials, maybe that user you're trying to use doesn't have the permissions to use the database? or some firewall stuff
or wrong port

nop, i fixed it

the way i diagnosed it

i accidentantly checked some logs

for network card

and i saw that my main network adapter that gives me my local ip, just turns on and off every now and then

reinstalled drivers

was about to buy a new network card cause the drivers have had issues since 2016

and then i checked my cable

#

and it was one of the first ones i crimped and it was done badly

so it was a faulty cable :)

but it was so random cause it would die middle of the night too when noone is withing 10m of the server

i guess luckperms is the only plugin i was using that noticed a 10second db outage :)
