chatchat format not working

So i setup the permissions and prefixes correctly (as far as I can see) but when I change my rank the prefix displayed in chat dosnt change and I made sure the rank dosnt have the "*" permission nor am i operator. This is also happening to people on the default rank where it is not being displayed at all. Is there any way to fix this?

Heres my formats file with the permission in my groupmanager setup for the default rank in that world as - chatchat.format.survival

idk what's wrong with your permissions plugin, but it clearly isn't doing its job well

is groupmanager listed in /papi list?

if yes, what do these commands return?
/papi parse me %groupmanager_group% | %groupmanager_group_prefix%
/papi parse me %groupmanager_allgroups%
if no, just switch to LuckPerms
