If I use a Virtual Private server from a host such as OVH, and I receive 4 shared cores. If I'm using let's say 50-60% CPU on one core, but all of a sudden 10 players log in, and it spikes to 100%. If another customer of OVH is doing something else CPU intensive, and their stuff is happening on the same core, would the Java Virtual Machine be smart enough to switch cores? I really have no idea how that stuff works, so there's probably many things wrong with that statement that I'm assuming.. but you get the general idea of my question. I only intend to host on a VPS until I exceed maybe 50 player average.

@glad onyx This will depend on the VPS setup of your provider. A normal practice for service providers is to partition/segment the VPS servers good enough so all vcores provided become dedicated to each seperate partition/segment. There are some service providers out there who exceed their resource limit and survive on providing "shared cores" where another customers load can be seen on your own VPS. I'd recommend checking with your service provider to see how their VPS host overhead is setup.

Eivind, the "Savage" series of plugins are currently transitionsing to the "Illyria", just a rebranding. They are very feature rich, and ProSavage usually updates, frequently enough. He also has a few others helping him out.
I don't own any of his premium plugins, but his free version of Savage/Illyria Factions is a pretty great versions of FactionsUUID with quite a bit of added features. He's currently working a FactionsX which will replace Savage/Illyria Factions but I have no idea when it'll happen. You can join the Illyria discord for more info and to keep up with their plugins.

In that case. An easy approch is to just use a free or paid SMS(Staff Management Software) that can track work hours.
I've used Planday for 5+ years now for multiple companies. It is flexiable and easy to use.

@high tiger I believe you can do that if you download Holographic Displays and display it directly over the NPC's head, additionally you'd have to have PlaceholderAPI with the Multiverse extension installed.

Is it good to use Aikar's flags when you are using lower than 10gb of ram? If you are running with 10GB or less memory for MC, you should not adjust these parameters. (from aikar's flags website) I know this sounds dumb but I am using 8gb of ram (doesnt ever reach 4gb of ram either) in a paper server with no plugins and it still lags when 6 players are in it. Also its a 1.15.2 server
