@woven prairie. I generally use OpenJ9 nowadays for most of my projects, so most of the public flags would be ignored anyway. I've tried TUX's flags for OJ9 with moderate success.
Gamster on the other hand does use hybrid OJ9 - Hotspot, but they don't bother about optimizing flags, they just use Xms and Xmx and they're good to go
