One thing i want to tackle now which i've only barely tackled in the past is botting. I've solved it for the servers i worked for and i have a rudimentary tool open sourced to fix it, but it's not at the point where servers small and large can implement it and be handled. Even though the changes i proposed in my 2 year old spigot post were finally implemented by all paid antibot plugins, it's not done in a correct fashion so in the end they don't fix anything serious.

Yeah botting you are limited to the platform you build your botting solution on top of. In most cases bukkit. If bukkit cant handle the load, your solution fails in the first place. Putting it infront of everything is pretty nice. What I did a couple years ago with some gameserver software
