Well, my friend was a programmer, and I was really interested in it. He started screen sharing what coded and showed me what he knew and could do. We made all sorts of shiz. He started not responding to my questions and stuff, so I just stopped trying with him Then he went off the grid and I still cant get in contact with him (mind you, this was around 1.5-2 years ago). I got sick of him not responding and I decided I would learn myself. I went to youtube and looked up bcbroz (He considers his old code trash and so does most of the programming community). I made small plugins and crap. Then last march I really started getting into it, I asked questions from ALL of my friends that developed, I went to the IRC and asked questions etc, REALLY stupid ones too. I never touched a java book and ditched the youtube videos, they didn't help me much. I downloaded plugins A LOT, and I would read the source code, and thats how I learned for the most part.

@quartz zephyr as of right now, it has a custom player object, tokens system, MySQL with fancy stuff like connection pooling, async, caching and so on. I'm going to be adding in the classes and levels hybrid system, some sort of control when new players join so I can make sure they join a class as sort of a tutorial. I'll code in GUIs for the NPCs I'm going to have as they are not possible through a GUI plugin. There's more but I don't have my list with me right now. I've only worked on the plugin for one and a half days

Yes there is, firstly check if it starts with "/", then remove the "/" using StringUtils or substring etc. and then you can get the first word of the message by splitting from " " and check if that equals what you're looking for
