Also, there was a wave of supposed suspensions on german accounts a while back.
But in reality did the users got their passwords and sessions reset due to servers being compromised. But the system sent out the wrong email, making it look like your account got suspended.

It’s funny, nothing like this existed until I built the first Spoofer. Then I sold it, and now it’s been forked into a million off brands.

Spoofing is beneficial, players see it that big player counts = more enticing to play. It’s sort of sheep herd mentality, if you google that.

Players want to go where others are. A server with 10 players looks more exciting than one with 7 or even 5.

I guess I’m bias as I was the first person to build such solution, but it is beneficial if done right. Servers are too competitive now, you’ve got to do these tactics even if “shady” if you want a chance at competing

But it can hurt your reputation in the long run.

If you join a server displaying 100 players, but you maybe encounter one or two that play and chat and stuff, you will eventually reliaze the faked player count, even if it is faked well.

And that will eventually spread, causing players to avoid your server, because why should one join a server that fakes their userbase?

Like competition sparks innovation. But since there isn't any video platform with the reach and features (excluding a specific adult site obviously), they don't have competition and don't need to try.
