Imagine if Bethesda and ID Software created an option a new doom game (hope and rip and tear that we could see another one) for the player to toggle 3rd person mode to experience more glory kills and how fast the slayer really can be from a 3rd person view. I understand people made mods to show that but I’m talking about movements that were made for the slayer. It would honestly be very cool to see him do a glory kill two demons that are close together. Nothing better then having him smash another demons skull with an imp’s head.

Maybe if there was a system with aoe stuns that staggered demons to glory kill state, then if two demons of a set type were next to each other, there was a basic glory kill which would take out both
like you use a rocket, it hits and staggers 2 imps and then you pick up one and use it to beat the other, you could have the beat one just explode in red mist so the relative distance isn't an issue or code it so the slayer moves toward the beat one
but you'd have to limit the demons that could be combo glory killed

2016 aimed to be a lot more immersive experience than Eternal (at least that’s how I see it). Which is probably why there aren’t many death animations. Or, it could be that they just wanted to save on resources and time.

If you've played eternal first remember this is a different game and enjoy it as such. Your movement will be slower and mechanics you have depended on in eternal are absent. Other than that is this one of my favorite games made and is still action packed.. enjoy

If this is your first Doom game, however, I recommend playing on Hurt me Plenty. If you’re relatively good at shooters then try Ultra-Violence. The one rule you need to know is to constantly keep moving. Trying to take cover doesn’t work in this game. You’ll get mauled.

Yes. So Hurt me Plenty is the medium difficulty setting. Ultra-Nightmare is the hardest difficulty setting that has permadeath.
This is basically Doom’s difficulty settings:
- I’m too young to die (Easy)
- Hurt me Plenty (Medium)
- Ultra-Violence (Hard)
- Nightmare (Expert)
- Ultra-Nightmare (Expert difficulty but with permadeath)

glory kills aren’t usually worth it as you’re getting back like 5 health in exchange for a potential hit from a piece of shit imp 30m away
also there are platforms you need to jump on
final note: use the BFG to stun her if you want and then unleash turret mode or something (don’t use all the bfg ammo at once)

Eternal definitely improved the gameplay but it lost that special tone and vibe 2016 gave off. At least that’s how it is to me.

Nightmare is actually my go to difficulty and isnt to bad after the beginning areas

I tried getting all the collectables but I figure I'd do that before the final mission. Kinda like completing side quests in an RPG before ending the game for an advantage

Gougaru, I agree with that, the combat is becoming a little dull rather than exhilarating
At first it was fun. Now it's just, plowing through enemies with the super shotgun and heavy AR

I suggest you restart on uv or nightmare. It will increase that exhilarating feeling by alot

I tried killing a Rev off an edge and the collision booped me off

well, UN practice run completed.
Only deaths were argent tower big fight (once) and a fluke death on necropolis, and one death I fell to on argent tower. As long as I dont choke vs final boss, I think ill be good
far easier than i had thought it would be
