The only potential issue with regards to Glory Kills is that there aren't any i-frames after the glory kill has ended, so theoretically, if an imp were to throw a fireball and it hit you right as the animation ended, that would count. Otherwise, I don't think they're that big of a problem, also, the Savagery rune exists.

@elder meadow One good thing is how much of a breath of fresh air this game is. One bad thing would be it’s real repetitive campaign, you only go to three different areas: UAC, Hell and the Ice caps on Mars. Nothing new happens by the time you’re half way through

All right, I don't know where else to ask but I can't find any more info. How can I fix the 99% load screen crash when I start up the game? The problem is that I downloaded a free repack that isn't bound to my Steam account so I don't think I can change the settings. I did buy Doom 2016 on Switch (sold the cartridge) and just wanted to make sure if the game would run well on my 2013 laptop - I would buy it if it's playable. Folks with a "legit" copy of the game seem to have the same problem, and I don't want to be one of the people that would fail to get a refund if the game doesn't work.
Checked the files, don't have the DOOMConfig file in User/Saved Games, can't input additional commands, start the game with OpenGL 4.5.
Kind of wish demo-versions still existed to test the game on PC in case the devs don't care to fix the game for something other than their high-end RTX 2080s and Intel i9 rigs

Eternal takes it’s steps forwards with variety and gameplay, but takes its steps backwards with unneeded handholding like the awful tutorials or the unskippable cutscenes that shows an obvious door open. Even little things like freezing you in place on the elevator. No big deal but those are things that irk me. The game also emphasizes too greatly on the 90’s arcade style, it’s fine for the most part but I really liked the subtlety of pickups and keycards and other things in 2016. Fit way better with its environments

It feels more intense and fast, I feel more engaged rather than going through hallways constantly slaying demons.
I find it a lot more replayable, currently doing a Nightmare run after my first run which is ultra-violence. When I've only done Hurt Me Plenty on Doom 2016.
If you can keep up with the game's symphony of intense dashing, switching and speed, you feel like an absolute badass and I love that.

I’m not a 2016 purist, I love both games I just am starting to prefer 16s simplicity and upgraded runes, then again I haven’t done every single feature of eternals campaign in terms of cheat codes and difficulties.

I agree with how Eternal drifts a bit too far from 2016. It’s fine to change things for the better, but in some areas Doom Eternal doesn’t. Doom 2016’s simplicity was refreshing and though Eternal doesn’t shove the story down your throat, it’s a little too complicated in my view. Eternal tells us with words and cutscenes while 2016 told us with actions. I still prefer Eternal’s gameplay and scenery though would have rathered its story stay simplistic.
Although I don’t see how it’s structured or looks like “CoD”. Those environments in Eternal are pretty Doom imo. If it tried to do what 2016 did with level progression we would see the same environments over and over...like in 2016.

Then make the window as small as possible
Cross your fingers while it loads

So i didn't complete Doom with all upgrades, so what i did was try to use cheats so i can just test them and see what i missed. I turned on DEV Mode and try playing like that. I couldn't turn off God Mode and when i tried to go to the next level, it said my save files were corrupted.

@lucid escarp this would be impossible due to the differences on idTech 6 and 7... Doom 2016 uses MegaTexture for it's assets while Doom Eternal doesn't...
they would have to rebuild all the levels from Scratch wich would make the game larger in size...

Some parts like the argent tower where you have to deal with hell knights, revenants and mancubi are truly painful because I can't think of a strategy to easily deal with those guys without having my ass one shot by a hell knight's stomp
I just made it past kadingir sanctum but it took way longer than supposed

Oh you can’t feed Cacodemons grenades in 2016, that’s only a feature in Eternal sadly. Anyways, for hell knights and revenants the SSG is really good.

I’d also advise upgrading the Heavy Assult’s Micro Missiles, the Plasma Gun’s heat blast and the Lock on mode for the Rocket Launcher. Using those guns plus the SSG, makes the game feel pretty easy even on Nightmare

Well I guess I can't upload pictures of what I'm about to describe. I need verification on wether this is still an active secret or one they never finished on Doom 2016. I'm sure many have noticed if not found a hidden door on level 2, it's outside the air lock, at the base of the Res-Ops Cargo Zone area right before you take the elevator to activate the the SAT relay. Is there anyone on here that can verify the plausibility of this door and/or it's origin. Also why did they cut off the vent pathway that should wrap around the building, it shows it being there on the map but when I get up there it's as if they cut it out of the game file yet the map still registers that it exists... I'm baffled at this and need some answers rather answers that lead to further questions.

Have you thought to try and clip anywhere in the game on the same map, it's possible they just moved the room all together because it was never meant to be seen by innocent eyes. I'm sure they knew many would try to clip through for a glimpse of the unachievable.
