I remember when I first played brutal doom I was fucking amazed with the comical amount of violence the mod had. When I heard Doom 2016 had mechanics inspired by BD, I figured I would check it out. I looked and I thought to myself "is it just me, or was brutal doom actually more violent than doom 2016?"
Like for real, the Glory Kills in BD and PB are freaking comically violent.
And Doom 2016 sure is the most violent in the series if we don't count mods for the classic games, but damn compared to PB, it looks like a baby's game in comparison.
I kind of wish doom 2016 gets a source port and mod support soon so we can have a "Project Brutality 2016"

The max ammo count for the HAR is 210, and a single micromissile (when upgraded to use less ammo) takes 2 bullets, meaning you can fire a total of 105 before ammo is depleted from a full ammo stock

Insta kills her. Theres another that spawns afterwards but that spawn isn't set. if you just keep your eyes peeled you can find her while shes spawning and just siege her or smth
The hell knights can be a pain so I use that little floating rock a lot since they can't get to you there well without jumping into the pit first and then back up on the other side

My thoughts on it: the biggest issue with Nightmare is how only the first 3 levels or so are truly nightmare hard and then the game lets up when you get the SSG.
Without it, though, I feel the game consistently remains blisteringly difficult, and your motivation to switch and use several weapons at once is way increased.

lately when I play, I avoid using siege mode or upgrading SSG until the end so that the game doesn't become a faceroll
like you said, it encourages more varied tactics and weapon switching. more fun imo, definitely more intense

Yeah, same. Siege Mode and two-shot SSG genuinely hurt the game because of how unbalanced they are. Without those it's better.
But I think a run without the SSG at all changes the game even further and makes it even more variable and interesting in how you choose to take down heavier enemies.
I think my using a controller may also impact how I feel about it.

I've been trying to get better at switching weapons in doom and all that since eternals soon, finished another nightmare save on almost 100%

Combat Shotgun is a great grenade launcher with a bonus shotgun attached

But then for shotgun only I had to, of course, and cluster strike is pretty dope
With quad it kills almost everything in one shot

@burnt badger yea same here. I always shoot the grenade off the side of imps to get the glory kills so I have like, 2-3 blips for the mastery by dnur
