For some reason DOOM Eternal doesnt launch for me. This has been a problem since I purchased it. I have it on steam. I meet the minimum requirements, I have a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Integrated, I think. The GTX isnt integrated) with GeForce driver version 451.67. I am on Windows 10. DOOM Eternal will say that its running on steam. The DOOM Eternal exe will run for a moment then stop. id tech launcher exe will continue to run until I manually stop it in task manager. I cant stop it through steam. I dont get a black screen, or even the ability to alt+tab into the game. I dont get any error message pop up on or out of steam. I have no problems with DOOM 2016, however.

-Uninstalling with RevoUninstaller then reinstalling through Steam
-Launching the exe itself
-Updating both Intel and Nvidia drivers
-Looking for amvk64.dll
-Changing properties in steam to this (https://imgur.com/PUaRDC8)
-Setting "power plan" to "High Performance"
-Verifying file integrity
-Making a windows defender exception for DOOM Eternal's folder (did not reinstall after)

Switching to the dedicated Nvidia GPU
- First, open the Nvidia Control Panel. One way to do that is right-clicking on an empty space on the desktop and choosing Nvidia Control Panel from the menu.
- Navigate to 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings.
- Open the tab Program Settings and choose the game from the dropdown menu.
- Next, select the preferred graphics processor for this program from the second dropdown. Your Nvidia GPU should show as High performance Nvidia processor.
Finally, save your changes. Your game should now run with the dedicated Nvidia GPU.

I GOT IT TO WORK GUYS!
This might only apply to people who have messed around with ReShade in the past for other games, ex. GTAV But what happened is through-out my messing around and re-installing my video card drivers over and over, I came across an article talking about disabling or enabling ReShade.
So instead of enabling shaders & enabling everything I could I turned off all the options and un-checked the "enable ReShade accross all Vulkan applications" box.
Credit goes to the author of the article, but hopefully this helps anyone else on all AMD hardware and is wondering why DOOM won't launch. ✌

Having an issue with Final Sin in Doom Eternal, at both the start and at this section of the level the game does not register that the Arena/Demon fighting areas are complete and blocks access to the rest of the level from me. I tried going out and back into the mission and the bug still occurred. Any ideas?

@cloud crystal indeed. Slayer gate crashes are an issue and there is nothing you can do to prevent them except by not playing slayer gates.
By the estimate of updates, a new update should be out soon. 2-3 weeks I would say. That might fix the crashes

How come when I try to play battlemode, it says no servers available or something like that. I can't even join a party or invite someone to a party. My internet connection is fine and it's not the issue, I tried restarting my computer and router, log out and log in in the bethesda launcher. Hey there, I'm having some trouble on ARC Complex, I can run all the other levels on Ultra Nightmare graphics with 60 to 144 FPS but on ARC Complex I get frequent FPS drops even on low settings, it's also the only level in the entire game that crashes for me, does anyone know any possible fixes?

This is an issue i've been having while playing Doom Eternal:
Whenever I stream the game on Steam to other friends, for some reason when loading up a level (Such as the Master Level - Arc Complex, for example), the game totally freezes.
I am running all my graphics settings at Ultra Nightmare minus the 2 connected to VRAM, which are on Ultra.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was an issue with other parts of the game as well, and the freezing only seems to happen when I stream the game on Steam.

It’s like sometimes when it loads something for me, the music gets a bit distorted and sometimes repeats itself just for a small moment. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does it doesn’t really mess up the game. It boots it and runs great, I just get a bit concerned because it lags a bit too.

the game is unplayable presumably because its only using 2 cpu threads and idk why, this is doom 2016, doom eternal runs all 12 threads to about 50% and gets 175 fps and 8ms frame-times at max, but for some reason doom 2016 is getting spikes of 5 second cpu delays and averaging 85ms frame-times and idk what to do to fix the problem

So I got a new monitor. My old one was 1080p 60hz. I upgraded to a new monitor that was pretty much the same size and that one is 1080p 75hz. I opened up doom Eternal today and it won’t let me go to 1600 by 900p resolution. There’s only options for 1080p, 720p and below. I don’t know what the problem is. My game doesn’t run well in 1080p and playing at 900p runs perfectly but the 900p resolution option is missing. I’m playing at 16:9 aspect ratio, the native one.

i thought of buying doom(2016), so i downloaded the demo in steam. Aftrer i played it i looked in the options and found the (i think, idont really remember) the render engine options. i setted it from the default one to vulkan. it had to restart. I recently encountered the bug in Cultist Base where it didnt count me as killing all the demons in an area, even though there were none remaining alive.
I did the spot in mission select and then save and quit Cultist Base and continued my file which put me back in ship with mission select. Mission select say I'm still missing the Praetor point but I still have the point and when I replay the mission it says I have already completed it.
THE ACTUAL QUESTION: Will this effect any achievements for collecting everything, and is there a known fix for this the community has discovered? Thank you

(This didn't work for everyone so it may not work, people described the same thing you did "blood is blue on demons that should have red blood. Other times, it is multicolored and glows extremely brightly and the shine takes up half of the screen when using the chainsaw or performing a glory kill.")

@wise basin Brother I fixed it:
Load up the file as usual and play. For UN I suggest you load up a master level or anything other than campaign unless you want to save over your checkpoint (I left a second CP right at the last possible area so f that).
Play, save, quit.
Upload that new save to psn and delete the doom cache/save on ps4.
Download fresh upload and restart.
Should be fine then and save you early age heart failure.

I've had doom eternal since the day it came out and the graphics have never been up to my standards (gtx 1650 R5 3600and upgraded to 1660 super) I've seen the game run on a similar pc and it seems a lot better (my main issues are w anti aliasing) i am right now trying to uninstall and reinstall but overall doesn't look as good as it should on a 1660 super (i do have good frames) all suggestions are appreciated ; )

it's set to dynamic and turn down the resolution scale (rs) if the fps goes below 60

what can I do about dotting? like textures having little dots inside them, black, pretty much pixel sized. for example when a staggered demon is flashing, the color's outline is fine but where it goes all the way down to the demon's body it's filled with black dots. small but annoying. also happens with reflections like blood on the ground, and water, however if a light is being reflected it's white dots instead of black ones. I think this has to do with post processing but I didn't find such options in the graphics settings and I am running everything on maximum graphics settings: 100% resolution scale and everything on UN.
Furthermore, I found a bug at the first slayer gate. After I complete it, and get teleported out of the arena, I go on my merry, but upon performing a LEDGE GRAB interaction, I get teleported back to the position, as if I came out of the arena. To make it simple, I can't bug inside of the slayer gate, this only happens AFTER I complete it. It's a small hindrance whenever I repeat my UN run after dying. I'll try to get it on video next time I repeat.

also the picture was taken with AMD's Driver since PrintScreen doesn't seem to work, and the hotkey is Ctrl+Shift+I by default, so I dashed and threw a grenade that's why this screenshot looks weird. However the problem is visible here, the reflections on the edge of the blood have these tiny dots

Well... maybe your RAM fills up to >8GB RAM, your OS fills the pagefile which is on ur SSD/HDD. Now when the game loads something back in the RAM, that was stored in the pagefile, can cause stutter/low FPS.

I didn't suspect my graphics card acting up because the performance increase is massive, just the fact that the game slows down over time is annoying
so in one place where I would get a stable FPS I get 45-50 and it hurts my reaction time/eyes

Your RAM is completely full because of the game and background apps, windows stores stuff that is currently not needed into the pagefile.sys (Which is stored on your SSD or HDD)
When you proceed playing and the game is like: ohh dang... uhm.. can i have those parts back into ma tasty RAM? (Which was stored into the pagefile.sys before)
it causes stutter.
But like i said check ur temps somehow. Or log your temps and then have a look
Logging is important because when you tab out to check your temps, the game pauses and the temperature will instantly go down

Wouldn t be wonderful to have in doom 2016 or eternal doesn t matter which, an mod called arena in which you will have to fight demons till they kill you. You kill some they respawn, you can get health ammo shield from killing, a kind of arcade but no map no hurry not anything. When i first meet this game called DOOM, i always thought about that. That s what supossed a game like this one to have, am i right?

it's not really the biggest issue, still playable and doesnt affect anything but loading screens, but it is a bit annoying

Hey so I encountered this bug in doom eternal where in the arena in mars core with the buff totem, (the one immediately after obtaining bfg) I died in that fight, and when I loaded my checkpoint no enemies would spawn, and the door to the next area of the game was still locked. I’m not sure what’s going on, and if anybody else has encountered this bug let me know if you have any sort of solutions, I restarted the level to see if it fixed it, but when I died it did the exact same thing. (Also I am playing on Xbox one, so it might have something to do with that)

I am having a problem starting up Doom eternal.
I had an windows + Nvidia update so I updated them both. Once they updated I wanted to play some Doom but I got this Error Message : "GPU Driver Error. Unspecified Vulkon Error"

You can only enter the Riptatorium once between each mission. So if you've already used it since beating your last mission you can no longer use it until you beat the next level. (Replaying levels after you've beaten the game does not allow you to re-use the Ripatorium, either, as far as I've experienced.)
Or do you mean you're trying to use it for the first time in a save file and you can't access it at all?

So I was playing DOOM Eternal and I love it, I was replaying the campaign when i heard the map menu tune play while playing the campaign. I had opened it earlier and then I noticed it playing when I closed out of it. I have video evidence of it if you need it as well to prove I'm not making it up. Its kinda cringy because I forgot to mute my mic but on a call with my friend but here it is:

I've started playing eternal recently and I really enjoy the battlemode but for the past few days I keep getting the message that I'm unable to find any matches. I've tried looking up a solution but nothings worked so far.

On the PS4 version the podium textures must be lower res, this is very apparent on the retro podium with Doomguy's face and other sprites, I wish they would fix this, Doomguy's face is just a blocky mess and you can't make it out properly.

so I know that this is the DOOM Eternal discord, but I thought I'd post this here anyway. I can't alt tab from DOOM 2, if I alt tab the game stays on my screen but doesn't respond until I can get it back in focus again. Is there any way to make the game borderless fullscreen without a 3rd party program, or atleast fix the alt tab issue so it works properly? I'm using GZDoom

I can't seem to control the brightness and all the sector lightmodes appear broken. GLBoom is unplayably dark and everything else looks identical - super washed-out bright.

Hey all,
My PC recently had to reset it's C: drive, meaning i lost some important files.
I had to reinstall Windows as well and it's been giving me what seems to be very unique problems ever since.
I need help with both Doom Eternal and Origin(if it's possible tho).
So, i'll simply start with DE, basically whenever i double click, the launcher opens and the button turns to 'Running...'
Then, a screen pops up, asking for permission for the Bethesda Launcher.
I click 'Yes' and wait.
Nothing happens and the button just turns back to 'Play'
I've uninstalled and updated my drivers twice, i tried downloading and adding a bunch of dll files, i've changed some settings using the NVIDIA control panel as instructed by the following link from Bethesda's website. I even reinstalled the whole game and the launcher twice.
Also tried the launcher repair tool and validating DE's files.
It won't start.
I've used the /scannow command in the CMD prompt (as admin) as well.
I don't think it's something launcher related since Fallout 76 runs fine.

@vital linden I dug through your diagnostic file, read the relevant first couple hundred lines, and it shows loads of errors about lack of permissions for branches, but not for DE. DE is referred to as game 51 or branch 139537, and its not getting any errors, despite being in the same request list as all the others that are, so its pretty bizarre. I'd launch the bethesda launcher first, and press play from there, instead of using a shortcut (as I'm assuming youre doing since you're 'double clicking' on 'DE', and that is opening the launcher). Also, I don't know how the hell you plan to play DE with a 1050 and a 4 core processor, but thats probably another issue entirely

Turned out i couldn't get a refund. So i had to buy the game a second time, this time on steam and had to start ALL OVER.
Bethesda is a pretty terrible company when you think about it, poorly developed games, outdated engine, weirdest fucking technical issues you'll ever see. Most games aren't THAT great. (Usually when they DID release a good game, they had help from another studio like Obsidian or something)
