Are you using the afterburner?
If so, disable "start with oc", go back the the standard settings and close afterburner.

decided to replay older missions to get all the secrets, power up all runes I've managed to collect, managed to 100% all old missions, pressed continue and lost basically all progress I have achieved by replaying the missions; is that a known issue?

@tawny crane putting the stock bios back on my GTX970 seems to have eliminated the freezing issue

Good. Lucky it was an rather easy fix. When you want an oc card maybe try afterburner so you can turn it off for games like doom.

it's something that has occurred on multiple occasions; it seems that the game doesn't save in between missions when replaying finished missions, which can then lead to progress loss.. luckily the game's fun enough so I started a new playthrough on a higher difficulty and am not too bothered by that loss

4 days isn’t very long. Typically these things take up to 14 days to refund.

well i reached level cavenr area 1. and im at living quorters are 1A. the thing is when go down the lift to level 2 (lower level)

there is a door. and its locked was trying to look arround to see if there a button or a PDA i missed. i was looking some walktrough to see if i missed something. but in any walktrough walktrough i looked they just walktrough the door like nothing.

I think I know where you are talking about...I think that door opens after you walk past it and enter that area through the next door around the corner. But, just to be sure...visit and indicate which part of Cavern Area 1 you are at.

my saves are gone, but its really weird. i started playing doom again a few weeks back and loaded my save file on resource ops, and quit somewhere on foundry during the level. then i played a whole lot more over the next few days, but only quitting after completing a level. now i reformatted my hard drive, and it shows the last save was on foundry. i guess my game only uploads to the cloud if i quit mid level? anyways, is there any way i can get my saves back?

@velvet pike I am new to Discord so I don't know. I suppose you can upload a vid to UTube and then provide a link to it. But, I'm fairly sure I know where you are at...you need to go around the structure with the door that won't open and climb up and enter that area through the roof. The elevator controls are in that area so you can't continue to the next section without getting in there.

@velvet pike Sorry, but I don't even have Doom 3 installed at the present time. I'm sure there's a panel in there that you need to activate...along with some spiders of course. Take a look at the IGN walkthrough at https://www.ign.com/wikis/doom-3/Caverns_Area_1 which might help.

But, good job figuring it out and finishing the game! Now, do the same with DOOM 2016...at least I have THAT installed and currently playing it.

My diagnosis is a threading issue because there is no error message...it's as if the main thread simply exits.

@tribal maple yes! turning off Cloud Sync stopped Steam from crashing. Now, I just need to find out how the DOOM 2016 sends my Glory Kills to the Slayer's Club for it to count toward the community challenge.

I don't really know how they work, but the communication method is slow because the cloud saves seem to take a considerable amount of time for such a small amount of data

It has logic in it and can pull metadata vs ZDL which just runs commandline paramaters

@limpid dust They are seperate. BFG Edition was a 2012 "remaster" version of Doom 3 for consoles.

It offers ultrawide support and 120 FPS.

But for everything else, it is a downgraded version of vanilla Doom 3.

It will definitely won't work with Intel HD.
About Radeon I don't know. I always had NVidia, so no clue how powerful that card is.
If that card is relatively new, check that game is launching with discrete graphics and not integrated. Google "AMD discrete gpu by default" or something like that

With VRAM like that, you won't run any modern game really.

Vulkan BSOD's me everytime I run Doom

OpenGL works fine but I prefer Vulkan, which works on other applications that use Vulkan

but with Doom (2016) it BSOD's my PC upon loading

@oblique pelican Do you have any other games that run on Vulkan, and if so, do they also cause BSOD? Though if it is definitely Vulkan causing the problem, I'd have no idea how to fix it anyway

In terms of updating display drivers, sometimes it's worth running a utility such as display driver uninstaller to ensure a thorough clean of previous versions. I can't speak for Radeon drivers, but I've had problems before due to Nvidia drivers stacking, which were solved by using display driver uninstaller to clean out the older versions properly.

yeah, and you can basically drag and drop mods on the GzDoom.exe (or your sourceport of choice), although if you start to work with extensive texture/shading work and different mechanic mods you might need a mod manager like ZDL (about that, I hope NexusMods Vortex will do the same as ZDL one day)

Okay so the problem is a console problem and the console is pretty old as well, it's a PS2 problem.
So I was playing a game on it, then the game froze, so I thought to myself "okay just soft reset" so I did that, but then as the console was starting up the start up screen froze, so I thought "soft reset again" then nothing came on, the console still is running but nothing is on the TV screen, so I'm sitting here trying to fix it and I'm getting no progress, the time it does come on it does the same thing, start up and freezes. At this point I don't know what to do, and all these source I looked up keep telling me to buy another, I just need to know if there's a way to fix it.

@surreal iron It's a leftover from the Exodus (1 flag CTF) mode, which was removed from the regular playlists after the 6.66 update. You can see how it's meant to look in this video:

It's bugged for ages. Word is, it will unlock when you do all rune trials in one fresh playthrough (no going back, no arcade in between etc.), haven't tried that myself though.

So I messed up my slavers club login on my Nintendo switch by screwing my email up I think. I go to "manage or unlink account" to hopefully try and unlink and try again (if that's how it works) but when I click on account management, it immediately tells me "the page could not be displayed." I've been unable to access my profile page (https://slayersclub.bethesda.net/en/profile) for about a week now and I don't know what else I can try. I've tried logging in, out, using a private/incognito tab, restarting browser, restarting computer, nothing seams to work. I just get the "something went wrong" screen with a drop menu with a bunch of gibberish errors in it 😕

This wouldn't bother me so much but I'm unable to click the daily link to view the doom forum and collect 10 points. I've tried accessing the forum directly but unless I use the link on my profile page which I can't access, it doesn't award me my points...

Anyone had similar issues or workarounds/fixes that work for them? Any help is appreciated

The warehouse changed just after Christmas, they wanted to wait until after the Christmas craze before moving. I did email them because it felt like it was taking too long, and they told me that my package was “misplaced”. It took an extra 2 weeks to get. @sick moth

Preordering is already a dangerous game to play. But collectors editions from Bethesda have a track record for low quality and problems. F76’s is the best example to date. I’m not telling you how to spend your paycheck, I’m just warning you that it is likely not worth it just to prove something to yourself as an “above and beyond” fan.

hey, i've got a problem. when I turn on vulkan and then restart my doom game i get a bluescreen. I have the latest version of vulkan api and updated my gpu drivers to the latest version as well, but nothing has helped. help would be much appreciated thanks :)

just make sure that if you upgrade your pc, you should make sure that the rest of your system will work with it

I can't really recommend a CPU without knowing the rest of your build, and prebuilts aren't typically the easiest to just upgrade

I've recently reinstalled DOOM (2016) and before I uninstalled it I had two DLC's (Bloodfall DLC and Demon Multiplayer DLC pack) and although I can play as the Spectre pinky, but yet I dont have the armor styles etc.

A bit back they released all the DLC content to everyone for free, and in the process intentionally re-set everyone's progress (which includes armor unlocks), so you have to either get to the echelon level for that armor or finish the challenge that grants it. This is the 6.66 update that happened a while ago

Sound only works when you choose specifically the DOOM tab under the application tab, streaming your whole screen won't give you audio. Also in stream settings theres a volume slider that you can make sure it's set on max, I assume you meant screensharing on discord

Also if your friend is on mobile, they won't be able to watch streams in a server, only in private DM calls

Bought doom a month ago or so, finally got to launch it today.
It's stuck on Notice: Loading Title Storage.
No fixes helped so far. It's just stuck there, playing music and doing nothing.
After I tried to force offline mode it changed the screen, but still froze and didn't allow me to play the game.

Specs if needed: MSI Z97 MB, GTX 780 Ti GPU (a little overclocked), i5-4690K (overclocked from 3.5 to 4GHz)

guys I bought doom yesterday since it’s $5 on steam. the game is great but 2 things are stopping me from enjoying it. 1) it randomly freezes for no reason and the sound keeps playing. I can ctrl+alt+del to close the game in task manager but that’s all. and 2) sometimes when i press space to continue it loads me back to the main menu making me have to redo some stuff i already did. how can i fix this because it is very annoying

I tried running the v07 of zion, it works without any problem, I think the main reason why 7 works and 8 does not because in 7 I only have to load one .pk3 file.

it's basically an updated version
most mods are made for at least Doom 2 I think

also I heard Apple is going to just straight up drop support for any programs other than ones they approve of
so you may want to look into getting a PC

@nova ledge the problem seems to be that Steam won't let him install it
so he can't get the iwad on his mac

I got that. If he bought Doom II on steam, he can ask friend to send him IWAD. He owns doom, his friend owns doom.

basically I installed nvidia experience and updated my drivers. then i launched it from nvidia and now it's playing

Hello! may i ask a thing? i just got Doom for PC and i can't set it to 120hz, my monitor is set to 120hz but whenever i launch Doom it automatically sets to 60, any idea on how to fix this?

when i go back to the game it just sets again to 60, and if i use windowed mode the game runs at 60hz, 200fps but 60hz

I'm not sure how it works on amd, but on nvidia at least in it's panel you can change settings for each individual application, so I set dooms to max performance minimum quality, and that fixed it. Also turned gsync off there

Might also just be the area of the game you're in then and there, I can get a solid 140 fps in most levels but for in some later uac areas it drops to 60 or so

i use vulkan mostly because OpenGL drivers are really bad on Amd, but ill try... i can get 200fps solid but it feels 60 if not lower

well, looks like OpenGL worked, but now i'm getting 60 to 100fps (100% sure it's about the drives) thanks alot at least now i fixed the problem

Changing between OpenGL and Vulkan shouldn't change the fps max, that sounds weird
