Channel Organization

Please make sure that you read the channel description of the channel you are in so you know if it's the appropriate place to chat about the subject you are discussing or the media you are sharing.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL UPLOADS INTO THE MEDIA CHANNELS HAVE TO BE STRICTLY ABOUT DOOM!

Rule Enforcement

If you act against the rules, you will be warned by our moderators.
Any further actions that disobey the established rules will result in a kick or ban.

Please note that if disciplinary action has been taken against you, this will be communicated to you in a private message. If you have Direct Messaging disabled in your Privacy Settings you will NOT be able to recieve action reasons.

Strike Policy

We apply a 5-Strike-Policy here:

  • First 3 strikes are simple Warnings which include a reason each time
  • 4th Strike will mute you for 12 hours
  • 5th Strike will result in a ban

Reasons will be delivered to you via Direct Messages.

Note: In more severe cases we reserve ourselves the right to ban immediately.

Rules
Abusive Language and Disruptive Behavior

We do not tolerate abusive language or disruptive behavior on our Discord server. This goes for abusive and disruptive comments and behavior that are directed at ZeniMax/Bethesda/id Software employees, moderators, or community members, alike.

Accusations of Misconduct

We do not allow public accusations that others have broken the community rules, or are otherwise acting inappropriately. Constructive disagreement is fine, but accusing someone of trolling tends to escalate the problem, and accusations of lying are usually inflammatory.

Advertising

We do not allow advertising in our server. This includes, but is not limited to advertisements and promotions for the following: outside businesses and services, other games, any venture that results in monetary profit. DOOM-related promotions such as mod projects for example may be shared in the appropiate channels in a appropiate manner. We also automatically remove all Discord Invites and do not allow such links to be shared here.

AI-Generated Content

We do not allow posts containing AI-generated content of any kind on this server, regardless of its relation to the DOOM franchise.

Bashing and Slanderous Comments

We do not permit the bashing of individuals (including ZeniMax/Bethesda/id employees), moderators, or other companies on our server. We believe that doing so is neither constructive nor in spirit of our game and community.

Conspiracy Theories and Misinformation

We do not tolerate the deliberate and malicious spreading of false info or conspiracy theories about ZeniMax and its game studios, game(s), or employees.

Copyright Infringement

We also do not permit discussion about the illegal distribution or use of copyrighted material, such as private game servers or pirated movies, music, and games. This includes all types of unannounced content also known as "leaks". Data Mining is only allowed in conjuction with creating and maintaining Mods. Please check our Modding Rules below.

Cursing and Profanity

Purposefully circumventing our server’s profanity filter or otherwise cursing or using profanity is not permitted on our server.

Custom Status

The custom Status on your profile is your own and we respect your right to write anything. However, we reserve the right to kick or ban you from our Community if we think your Status displays hate speech, advertisements, or other forms of messages which do not comply with our rules. You may also be reported to Discord Trust & Safety.

Demands and Threats

We expect all of our community members to refrain from resorting to demands or threats. Threats of real-life violence, in particular, are something we take very seriously and do not tolerate.

Discussing Disciplinary Actions

We do not allow discussion of any moderation actions or decisions within public channels on our server.

Flaming

It’s okay to disagree and debate within our Discord server, but we do ask that you keep all disagreements civil, constructive, and on-topic. It is never appropriate to resort to personal comments or jabs about those participating in server discussions.

Hate Speech

We take the use of hate speech very seriously in the Discord server, and have a zero-tolerance policy. Our definition of hate speech is prejudice or hateful comments, slurs, or statements that promote violence or intolerance toward others because of the following: Race, Creed, Color, National Origin, Gender, Age, Disability, Sexual Orientation, Lifestyle, Religion, any other personally identifying factors.

Impersonation

We do not tolerate impersonation of any kind and take impersonation attempts very seriously when they do occur. Impersonation includes using a display name, photos, posts, or any other material with the intent to fool people into believing you are a ZeniMax employee, another community member, a celebrity, or anyone else you are not.

Inappropriate Content and Language

Certain topics and subjects are deemed inappropriate and not permitted in the server. Things that we consider inappropriate are usually illegal, extremely volatile or violent, obscene, vulgar, or simply inappropriate. Inappropriate content includes, but is not limited to the following: Extreme violence, Illegal substances and activities, Pirated copyright-protected material, Pornography and other sexually explicit topics, Real-world religion and politics, Tasteless, vulgar, or obscene material. Memes should not be posted anywhere on the server.

Naming-and-Shaming

We do not allow comments that are created for the purpose of “naming-and-shaming” other community member(s). “Naming-and-shaming” is the act of calling out an individual or group by name, and making them the subject of public accusation, ridicule and/or shaming.

Non-Fungible Tokens

We do not allow discussion or promotion of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) of any kind on this server. Promotion of NFTs will always result in a permanent ban.

Personal Information

Please be careful when sharing personal information for the sake of your own identify protection and personal privacy. This includes sharing information about others.

Petitions and Protests

We do not allow posts or links to petitions or protests on our server.

Rude and Insulting Comments

We understand that sometimes tempers rise, but it is never acceptable to resort to rude comments and insults. This goes for rude comments and insults directed at other community members, moderators or ZeniMax employees alike.

Spamming

Please do not post spam on the official DOOM Discord server. This includes the posting of Discord invite links or repeated posting of other links which may result in a temporary mute.

Trolling or Baiting

No trolling or baiting is allowed. The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction.
