I often end up with the leftmost gun empty while the rightmost one has 80% ammo left. You can "wake it up" by switching off CWIS mode while the weapon group is active to turn it around but other than that it will not fire once it turns backward "sleeping".

hyperion eos also prefer to fire left turrets

Interesting, there could be a math issue with the turret code since they are rotated sideways then.
