Rather than voting at the beginning of the game for a game mode, Let us select checkboxes of the different game modes, which we want to queue for. If you like all modes, then you can queue for all of them, if you only want to play income and chill, queue for that, if you want to play blitz or ordered chaos, click those two.
You could also queue for 2v2 ranked at the same time, and if it were to be added, you could also queue for 1v1.
- Selecting a multitude of game modes helps reduce overall queue times.
- Being able to select one or more classic modes before queuing avoids players being thrown into games, which they never wanted to play in the first place.
Now I'm aware that there's a famous quote from Jules which people keep bringing up, something about the playerbase not being big enough to support more than two queues. I'd argue that cause and effect are not obvious here, there's probably also a handful of players, which are unhappy with the limited queue options and game modes, and quit as a result. The playerbase might increase with more queues and modes.
