resetting settings/finding settings config file

Is there a settings.config file saved somewhere locally or is it a cloud sync process?
I tried some resolution, applied it but my monitor showed an error that it doesnt support the selected resolution and since the game doesn't test the resolution and resets it on it's own, since you have to apply it, the game now starts with this unsupported res and it keeps failing to start.

for clarficiation: I changed the res in the game, not my desktop res

deleting C:\Users\you\Documents\Trackmania\Config\default.json might be what you're looking for
the game should generate a new config file with default settings once you start it again afaik
best to back up the file anyway in case something goes wrong of course
