I recently downloaded the TrackmaniaItemsSorted item pack by skifreak but now everytime i try and start the map editor i get a Updating data screen which does not go away. I followed every instruction which was given in the read me file such as deleting old items and deleting items in the /blocks folder but nothing has worked

You have too many custom items downloaded
The game has an internal limit of 32767 blocks, anything that adds to the internal block counter (blocks, items, macroblocks, custom blocks, custom items, custom macroblocks) affects that.
Remove some custom items or blocks and your editor will work again.

It's a known issue that the game developers are looking into, but no promise that that limit gets raised at some point.
